Highly Recommended for Aspiring ESP Teachers

April 01, 2026Martina Gerosa - Italy

I recently completed this course and found it to be both insightful and incredibly useful. The content provides a perfect balance between theoretical understanding and practical application. The materials provided were were really good, especially the sample dialogues for negotiations and the structured breakdown of the "Presentation" and "Telephoning" modules. I really appreciated the focus on functional language rather than just dry grammar, as this is exactly what adult professionals need in the real world. I am very happy with the resources and feel much more confident in my ability to perform a needs analysis and handle the unique challenges of a business classroom. Highly recommended for anyone looking to specialize in ESP (English for Specific Purposes)!

Once in a Lifetime Opportunity

I had an incredible time interning in Medellín for two months with a company called Conaltura, a leader in sustainable construction and real estate across Latin America. The people I met were warm, driven, and open, I made lasting friendships, and will take a multitude of fun memories back home with me. I can’t recommend Medellín enough. The city has a contagious momentum, a lively arts and music scene, fresh food, great weather, and biodiversity unlike anywhere I’ve ever visited. I felt both supported and challenged by this experience, many thanks to the Intern Group and Mariana. XOXO

My friends Nico and Stefan showing me around the city center. Highlights from around the city include the fruit tour, el Museo de Antioquia, Comuna 13, and nightlife.

I would definitely visit Buenos Aires again with the organization! Our guide, Jio, was an amazing guide and an overall amazing person. I would recommend this to anyone who may be nervous to study abroad, Expanish make it simple and easy!

New experiences and a beautiful month in Spain.

April 01, 2026Jasmine Bowman - United States

I learned how to surf, which has always been a bucket list item for me. Our surf instructors were amazing and were amazing to learn from. I also got to practice my Spanish with them. They are trilingual, as are many people in the area; they know Spanish, Basque, and English. The weather was absolutely beautiful for the month of July. I got to take weekend trips to beautiful nearby areas and got to go see the running of the bulls. My Spanish class was very well taught, and my professor was amazing.

Priceless experience

My internship experience at Smith Collins School was truly outstanding and rewarding. During my time there, I gained a wealth of knowledge, both academically and personally. The environment was supportive, profesional, and full of opportunities to learn and grow. One of the most valuable aspects of this internship was the chance to work with students of different age groups which greatly improved my ability to adapt my teaching and communication styles to suit various learning needs. The staff at the school were welcoming and always willing to provide guidance. Overall, this internship not only enhanced my knowledge but also strengthened my self-confidence and passion for working with students. It was a meaningful experience that I will always value and carry forward in my future career.

School: On my first day, I unfortunately felt a bit lost and left alone at the entrance, as there was no clear introduction or explanation of how the day would proceed. However, I would like to highlight that Alex is very kind and helpful. The school is very centrally located, which is definitely a big advantage and makes it easy to reach. However, the school and classrooms were not very clean, which I think could be improved. Kristen: Sometimes the pace of the lessons was quite fast, and she occasionally gave the answers before I could respond myself. However, she always explained the topics well and in a structured way. I really learned a lot in her class. Jamie: At the beginning, I was a bit unsure in my assessment, Jamie was occasionally on her phone. After I mentioned this, the situation improved immediately. During the course, I realized that I judged her wrong at the beginning. She is a very good teacher who explains the content clearly and in a structured way. I especially appreciate her patience when answering questions and her easy-to-understand explanations. I learned a lot from her lessons. She saw my weaknesses and helped me improve them by going over them again and again.

It was AMAZING

My semester abroad in Alicante, Spain, was an immersion into Spanish culture and the sun-drenched life of the Mediterranean coast. My days were a blend of academic pursuits and afternoon explorations, where I quickly learned to navigate the city by the rhythm of its palm-lined esplanadas and the scent of saltwater in the air. Mornings began with churros and thick hot chocolate, followed by classes that deepened my understanding of Spanish history. The afternoons were for wandering through the narrow, winding streets of the old town, discovering hidden plazas, or relaxing on the expansive sandy beaches that define the city's coastline. I honed my Spanish skills through lively conversations with local shopkeepers.

Good experience to date.

I am currently working on achieving my 180-hour Level 5 TEFL Diploma. I enjoy the different methods used during the course. This includes audio, text, video and quizzes. Customer service and support during my course have been good to date. Questions are answered normally within 24 hours.

A great time

I was on London for the two three-week sessions. The classes were excellent and I really enjoyed my class about Shakespeare. We traveled to the Globe theatre to see multiple productions, then had wonderful conversations. Through USAC, there were opportunities to travel outside of London and spend time in lesser known attractions, which let me explore more than just the city. Overall, it balanced both independence to see the city and do whatever you wanted while also letting you have more structure and planned trips.

Great experience learning how inventories and longitudinal studies work!

I enjoyed learning about taxonomy, conservation, and science-based techniques for data collection. The field work was very immersive and focused on the actual conservation issues. The program is very well structured, and the repetition allows you to get comfortable with a wide variety of techniques.
