Life Changing Experience!
October 03, 2024by: ValentinaI had an amazing time studying abroad with IES Internship Abroad! There was a lot of paperwork and tasks needed to get done before departing, however IES made it easy to organize myself by having a list of tasks and their due dates. They also held orientations that were helpful, covering topics around housing, safety, etc. They did their best to match me with a job that fit my major and other preferences, and they also did a good job assigning me to a great homestay in which I practiced my French lot. On top of that, they held excursions to visit other parts of Paris, which was a great way to explore more the farther parts of Paris and meeting others in the program. In the end, my French improved a lot, I was able to step out of my comfort zone which improved my confidence, and I left with great memories with lifelong friends!
Great Way to Practice Your Spanish
September 30, 2024by: Corey G.It was a great experience, however I do think it is geared towards people with little to no work experience and did not meet all my expectations of learning something new in a new work environment. The best part was being able to practice my Spanish with my host family.
Great Internship
September 23, 2024by: Birdie B.CIEE provided me with a great internship site, a clean and nice apartment in a good neighborhood, and gave me roommates who shared similar interests. The staff was extremely kind and helped me whenever I needed, and were good about checking in with me about my experiences

The France internship program offered a rich and rewarding experience. Immersed in the vibrant culture and professional environment, I gained valuable insights into the French work ethic and practices. The opportunity to work alongside skilled professionals provided me with practical knowledge and enhanced my skill set. The supportive and welcoming atmosphere fostered personal and professional growth, enabling me to tackle challenges with confidence. Additionally, the exposure to diverse perspectives expanded my global outlook and cultural understanding. The program also facilitated networking opportunities, allowing me to build connections within my field. Overall, the France internship was a transformative experience that broadened my horizons and equipped me with valuable skills for future endeavors. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking to enhance their professional development while immersing themselves in the rich culture of France.

Culinary internship close to Strasbourg
April 23, 2024by: Jiann V - PhilippinesProgram: France Culinary Arts Internship
Hi realized my 6 months internship in a gastronomic restaurant in Alsace, close to Strasbourg city. I learn a lot about fresh products, wines and how to combine flavors. I was in an international team, so my experience has been very international. The main difficulties for me were to adapt myself to the rhythm of work, that's more intense than at school, and also adapt myself to the quit rhythm of life as I was in a small town. But I really enjoyed it and I feel I grew up personally and professionally.

More than I expected
December 19, 2022by: CaitlinI was hoping to improve my French and to gain experience toward the goal of discovering what I want to do with a future career and I found both of those goals fulfilled through this process. I also gained so much more than I expected from cultural experiences to friendships to travel and beyond.
I loved this experience
December 17, 2022by: KeirI enjoyed my time at Habitat et Humanisme very much and I have met many amazing people including workmates and residents however I assumed as an intern I would have a responsibility or a small role to play within the organization but I did find there was not a lot for me to do aside from socialise with the residents and I was more of a volunteer. Although I do not regret participating in this program at all, I do believe that it was a lot of money for the final product. If I were to do it again or recommend it, there are many ways I could have organised this myself for a lot less money... for example, the French classes were very overpriced for what was delivered and the afternoon "online workshop" classes were not productive. Also to register as a volunteer at the organization I interned with only costs €15. I love this experience and although I would not use World Endeavors again, I very much appreciated being able to just walk into France not having to worry about accomadation or organising anything for myself, it was all done for me :)
It was a fulfilling experience
December 15, 2022by: JoanneIt was a fulfilling experience because I got the opportunity to live abroad, get immersed in a new culture and language, to travel, to meet new people and overall to be an intern in a french organization that welcomed me with open arms. I feel like I really improved my french by living in a very welcoming host family and on a daily basis. I think there is something you could improve on where it comes to the interviews and "choosing" the internship. I didn't have any problems with the organization that I worked with, but before this organization I got an interview with another organization that I didn't like at all. I feel it would be best if the intern is given a variety of options of where to work in (since it is only for experience I feel like the intern should choose where to work). I thought that it was going to be like that but I didn't get any choosing. Gladly, I liked the second organization that was offered, but the in-country coordinator told me that if I were accepted (into the first organization that I didn't like) I would have had to accept. Another remark would be that I received the confirmation of the interviews one day before, leaving me a bit surprised and unprepared. Two days of anticipation wouldn't have been bad.
It is helpful towards my career
December 14, 2022by: ElizI was really hoping to get hands on interior design experience. the role was at an architecture agency, doing communication, logistics, and development. I don't regret the experience, but I know about as much about interior design as I did before, and it was an expensive internship for not having learned much about my desired career. I took photos, once, of an interior design project, because I asked to get involved, and the photos were used by nobody. It is helpful towards my career that I can add this job to my resume, but creatively I've learned very little.
I learned a lot about how social work functions in France
December 14, 2022by: CarolineI learned a lot about how social work functions in France. I gained personal experience working with a non profit organization that helps low income people obtain housing. I wanted to learn more about the subject as a whole, work with people, and improve my French and I did all three of those things.
Time well-spent
December 14, 2022by: PosowaMy 2 goals in the program was to learn French and have the experience of completing an internship. Well, my level of French is intermediate at least B1 and the internship was fulfilling. I had been highly active both in class and in my internship so it was time well-spent.

The staff and program as a whole was a worthwhile opportunity
December 12, 2022by: Miles G.I think there's problems here and there with cleanliness of dorms and location choices, but overall I had a very positive experience. The staff and program as a whole I felt was a very worthwhile opportunity.

Berlin for the win!
September 24, 2020by: Jacquie T. - United StatesThis program was amazing! The staff and faculty are always willing to help with anything. Whether it's about your internship placement or advice for fun adventures in the city, the staff is there for you. This program has great opportunities to grow as a student and a professional in your field. The field trips and activities in this program allowed us to take our learning outside and explore a new culture. I couldn't recommend this program enough!

January 14, 2020by: Sophia S. - United StatesCIEE is very well-staffed and they do everything they can to make sure you have the best experience possible. Everyone is friendly, the rules and guidelines are laid out for you, and the excursions CIEE plans are a blast!!
I have had a great experience
August 03, 2019by: Maeve G. - United StatesI have had a great experience, it is organized and comes at a good cost. The staff on-site is very supportive and helpful (as well as Brooke in Portland), but we had an emergency situation and the Portland higher-ups didn't handle it well, nor did anyone answer the emergency number provided to us.
Great Program
April 23, 2019by: Jokeyni L.It was a great program. I would really only recommend it for an internship because I think you get the most out of it that way. I was going to study abroad I'd rather do it at a local university where I'm studying. My only complaint is that the whole CIEE experience isn't tailored very well to internships, and a lot of things conflict with work. It feels like the intern students are an afterthought, which I understand because most people are studying here.
