Hello everyone, In 2014 I got an internship in France with the aid of Jobs and Internships Abroad. I have a Bachelor Degree in International Trade so Jobs and Internships Abroad contacted me with an start-up with international operations (Boaterfly). For a non-french speaking intern, it is very difficult to adapt to the new country. It was very difficult for me to adapt to the organizational and social culture. I was lucky enough to find the company who accepted me without French skills, but still, it was quite difficult for me to work in this environment. Anyway, it was a valuable experience for me, as I am an International Business student and happy to learn more about different cultures.
They really listened to my concerns, preferences and worked with me to find the best placement for me. I'm very thankful for the team at Jobs and internship abroad (particularly Lucas and Javier) for helping me find an amazing internship in the field I wanted and in an amazing city. I just started my internship 3 weeks ago so it is still early days but I was surprised at how quickly I settled in due to the welcoming environment and friendly team! I usually find it takes me a while to settle in and feel comfortable so a comfortable environment is important for me and I definitely found that at Comforts of Home.
