Art History Internships in Hong Kong

My experience in Thailand has been so fun! I got to see a lot of the major temples and sites that are a must visit. I made many friends with the other interns here. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. They helped me with any questions I had or anything in general. Overall my experience was amazing, 10/10 would recommend to anyone on the fence about it! I would even come back if I could!

Before going to Hong Kong, i thought all I was going to experience is the internship itself and nothing else. Until I realized the intern group provided other memorable experiences for us. I met a LOT of new people and got to know more about them and how we all ended up in Hong Kong. What an experience

I had an amazing time working for an NGO in Hong Kong during my Gap Year. TIG helped me find a host who suited my needs and interests perfectly. The social events that TIG ran during my time here were always well planned and fun and provided me with an avenue to experience activities and events in the city I wouldn't have found otherwise. There's a strong sense of community with the other interns and I would recommend the Hong Kong programme specifically for anyone wanting to look for a really special city to stay in. Genuinely one of my favourite things I've done.

I recently completed an internship in Hong Kong for 7 weeks under the Intern Group. Their support was key for settling into the culture there and provided me with someone to talk to when the going got tough. Thanks to their support, I could thrive in a foreign country by meeting new people and working in a great company. I was able to experience so many new things thanks to them and these experiences will be invaluable to me in my life going forward. I could not recommend this internship more. It allowed me to grow in ways I never thought I could.

Interning in Hong Kong has been an incredible experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. It not only allowed me to travel, explore, and work in Asia for the first time, but it also gave me the chance to represent my accomplishments and the legacy of my historically Black college. Additionally, I was able to delve into the vibrant city and engage with the significance of humanitarian aid, which was made possible by the supportive intern group that I’m deeply grateful for.

My experience in Hong Kong was great. The support from TIG was splendid. My time was filled with many learning experiences and gave me more confidence in a professional environment. This internship also gave me a connection. Fast forward 3 years later after my masters degree, I got in touch with the connection I had Hong Kong and I was offered a remote full-time job at the company I interned for. During the placement process, The Intern Group only had one mechanical engineering option to offer me at a company based in Colombia and had to switch to a fully remote position. The situation was unfortunate because of the time zone differences and the workload was very independent. This wasn’t the internship I hoped for but it definitely challenged me professionally. The people that arrived the same time as I did + the accommodation made the whole experience worthwhile. Our experience coordinator, Erika, was very welcoming and helpful with everything we needed. We would have weekly meet ups to socialize and do fun activities together. The accommodation is full of other friendly students/travelers and I felt very safe, it’s comparable to a single dorm room.

I was originally meant to do my internship in 2020, but COVID made it not possible. The Intern Group, however, kept my internship available for two more years until I was in a position to do it again. They gave me very detailed and helpful information on getting to my internship from my accommodation which was quite a distance to travel and my biggest concern at the start. The internship itself was a real eye opener, seeing first-hand how a charity deals with all the donations and goods it receives and sends to places in need and there was a variety of nationalities working there which made it feel extra global and exciting. Hong Kong itself is a wonderful city; very friendly, clean and easy to navigate and the events organised by the Intern Group felt very relevant to the city and really got oneself immersed in the culture. Special shout out to Agnes who was always available to answer any questions, was very helpful with getting my phone set up for Hong Kong, showed me some great places around the city and treated me to the best burger I have ever had! The only negative would be the distance to travel to and from work every day. The Intern Group, however, did set me up with a travel card with enough money on it to cover the cost for the entire duration.

Meiji Internships has definitely opened many new doors for my future career path. Throughout the pandemic this was one big headache for me, but Meiji were always informative and responsive throughout. Even before I arrived in Hong Kong, I knew I could count on them. Once I got the good news I could actually travel to Hong Kong, I wasted no more time and got on the plane as soon as possible. Again, I cant thank Meiji enough for the smoothness of their organisation during this hectic time. Once I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms and given the internship of a lifetime. I took a lot away form this internship and built a substantial network of key contacts. I’m looking forward to the future.

The whole reason I wanted to intern in Asia was for the purpose of personal growth. It’s a place that requires a lot of perseverance and willingness to adapt, while also being the fastest growing continent in the world in terms of business. I took a specific interest in Hong Kong for the many business opportunities that can be found there, as well as the level of English proficiency that the vast majority of the population has. During my internship I worked within a small team, which really allowed me to work closely with my colleagues. Because of this they were able to teach me a lot, and I was properly involved in a number of important projects. This internship gave me the insight I needed to scope out the business world of Hong Kong, and also the confidence to handle myself in places far different to my home country.

Meiji were quick when responding to questions, and always gave the accurate information. They have very good company partners so I enjoyed working with the company. I think that Meiji Internships is a top rated organisation, so I would recommend it.

I went to Hong Kong for an internship to achieve the last of my university credits. Honestly I thought it was going to be a regrettable experience since I didn’t know the language, nor know anybody in Hong Kong. But actually it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The work was engaging and the people I worked with were always accommodating to my questions and opinions. The internship really made me want to pack my bags and move to Hong Kong for a long time. The majority of my downtime was spent exploring the vast jungle of back streets and finding all of the best places to eat. For anybody who is looking to get out of their comfort zone, try Hong Kong! It’s scary at first but ultimately very rewarding.

It was a long, long time in the making, but I’m so glad I was finally able to travel to Hong Kong. To be frank, reading the news that they had began to allow foreign visitors back into Hong Kong felt like a dream. I could hardly believe it myself! It’s only natural to be sceptical about an internship abroad (particularly in Asia, the other side of the world) when we’re talking about handing over money to a group of people you’ve never met before. This is how I felt at the start, but after some very friendly and reassuring Skype calls, I decided to trust my instincts and go with Meiji Internships. This decision really paid off, because I ended up having the internship of a lifetime in a city that demands your attention. I did some insightful work, met some interesting people, and gained worthwhile experience.

The experiences was fun and enriching, a lot of cultural learning and met amazing people. The city offers a lot, the food is really good!! Be open to meet amazing people, work in new environments and to learn more about an incredible culture!!!

Overall I loved my time with the intern group. They were very helpful in communication and helping me get to my designated country before arrive despite covid and only continued to be amazing assistance whilst there. They placed me with a great host. As I was apart of the digital nomad program I had more freedom to explore my country which they always supported. The plans activities were always fun and I feel I have made international friends for life. My stay with there provided accommodation with perfect/safe. I didn’t have any problem in the process. There was always someone to contact if I needed assistance or advice. The work modules were also useful providing content on career advancement which I can now apply to future roles. I would definitely recommend this program to a friend as I had the time of my life.

The Intern Group has been a very nice experience for me. They have helped me to find an amazing 6-month intern job at the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. After signing my contract, they helped me to apply my visa online. When I arrived, Sau (program advisory and visa officer of the Intern Group) was organising some online events when I was in quarantine. On the same week that I left the quarantine hotel. He organised a dinner at the restaurant with other people from the Intern Group. It feels very nice to meet new people when you just arrived in a new city. After that, during all my internship period. Sau was organising some visits and hikes around Hong Kong, which were very well organised and great! I’ve got the chance to meet a lot of interesting people from many different countries. At the end of my internship, I succeed to find a trainee job at the Belgium-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. Sau helped me to apply for my new job visa! He was very kind with me and always tried to catch up with me. It is a pleasure to meet him, and I wish keeping hangout with him in the future if I stay even longer in Hong Kong. Best wishes to you Sau and thank you to the Intern Group for this experience!
