Great Way to Practice Your Spanish
September 30, 2024by: Corey G.It was a great experience, however I do think it is geared towards people with little to no work experience and did not meet all my expectations of learning something new in a new work environment. The best part was being able to practice my Spanish with my host family.
Great Internship
September 23, 2024by: Birdie B.CIEE provided me with a great internship site, a clean and nice apartment in a good neighborhood, and gave me roommates who shared similar interests. The staff was extremely kind and helped me whenever I needed, and were good about checking in with me about my experiences
The staff and program as a whole was a worthwhile opportunity
December 12, 2022by: Miles G.I think there's problems here and there with cleanliness of dorms and location choices, but overall I had a very positive experience. The staff and program as a whole I felt was a very worthwhile opportunity.
A great experience
June 21, 2022by: Ysairys J.My CIEE internship in Barcelona, Spain is a great experience not just academically but also personally. I have learned so much about myself during these months and building connections is so important in life.
Berlin for the win!
September 24, 2020by: Jacquie T. - United StatesThis program was amazing! The staff and faculty are always willing to help with anything. Whether it's about your internship placement or advice for fun adventures in the city, the staff is there for you. This program has great opportunities to grow as a student and a professional in your field. The field trips and activities in this program allowed us to take our learning outside and explore a new culture. I couldn't recommend this program enough!

January 14, 2020by: Sophia S. - United StatesCIEE is very well-staffed and they do everything they can to make sure you have the best experience possible. Everyone is friendly, the rules and guidelines are laid out for you, and the excursions CIEE plans are a blast!!
Fantastic summer!
September 27, 2019by: Alexandra Feld - United StatesThis program gave me an amazing opportunity to practice my Spanish as well as further narrow down my professional interests. As someone who was very unsure about what career path I wanted to take before starting the program, I was very flexible about where I wanted to be placed and ended up spending the summer doing a research project in the folklore archives of the Chilean National Library. Through the pros and cons of this job, I came up with a much better idea about what sort of a work environment I want to be in after college. Chile is also a very interesting country and if you want to travel around the country there are several big landmarks that you could go to such as Patagonia or the Atacama desert! I chose to spend most of my time in Santiago, but there was still plenty to see and do there to fill the 8 weeks. IES also took us on several field trips around the city, as well as one to Valparaiso and Viña Del Mar! When I was there, IES was going through some staffing changes so they were running a little behind on internship placements, so everything wasn't completely set in stone until a couple of weeks before the program started, but in the end everything managed to work out and in the end I had a great time!
I have had a great experience
August 03, 2019by: Maeve G. - United StatesI have had a great experience, it is organized and comes at a good cost. The staff on-site is very supportive and helpful (as well as Brooke in Portland), but we had an emergency situation and the Portland higher-ups didn't handle it well, nor did anyone answer the emergency number provided to us.
Great Program
April 23, 2019by: Jokeyni L.It was a great program. I would really only recommend it for an internship because I think you get the most out of it that way. I was going to study abroad I'd rather do it at a local university where I'm studying. My only complaint is that the whole CIEE experience isn't tailored very well to internships, and a lot of things conflict with work. It feels like the intern students are an afterthought, which I understand because most people are studying here.
Absolutely amazing
May 09, 2018by: Grace - United StatesProgram: API: Experience Santiago, Chile (Scholarships Available)
I cannot say enough good things about API. Every single aspect of my program went smoothly. From my application process, to my arrival, to my departure, everything was handled for me and that was so amazing. My on-site director was beyond helpful with ANYTHING I asked for help with and my program director in the US was the exact same! My internship placement was interesting and in my field and my director was always willing to plan fun things for us to do. Thank you, API, for an extraordinary experience!
