Most Rewarding Experience Ever
July 23, 2026by: Sai Shankar Sadhu - United StatesProgram: Internships in Melbourne, Australia
This was the most amazing and most fun experience I have ever had. This is the first time I have traveled alone to a country I have never been to before, and it's been alone from family in a whole new place for a long time. Most people view interning abroad as just a resume builder, but it's honestly so much more than that. I've really grown as a person by becoming more independent and self-reliant. I've gone on amazing and cool excursions and made so many new friends. I've gotten to really love Australia over the couple of weeks I spent here, and I honestly wish I had spent more time there. I felt very sad to leave, and all of the other interns felt the same way. Australia is truly a wonderful place to live in, and I hope my future holds a place for Australia.

Fantastic Experience In Melbourne

I had a fantastic time during my internship in Melbourne! The city’s café culture, great coffee, and vibrant, diverse community were highlights. Through The Intern Group, I made some amazing friends and had plenty of opportunities to learn and connect. My company turned out to be different from what I expected but in a really unique and positive way, which made the experience even more valuable. Perth, our experience coordinator, kept things fun and engaging throughout. Overall, it was an incredible experience, and I’m grateful for all the great people I met along the way.

September 02, 2024by: Neelay S - New ZealandProgram: Internships in Melbourne, Australia
My 10-week internship was an incredible success. Entering the experience with an open mind allowed me to truly reap its full benefits. The people I met, the fun I had, and the overall opportunity were all amazing. I've made numerous new friends and grown significantly more comfortable with myself, both personally and professionally. I'm thrilled to have secured full-time employment from it and now truly feel like a Melbournian. And... I just have to give a huge shoutout to Perth. She was truly phenomenal. Always a friendly face and ready to chat whenever we needed her. Her punctuality and communication were always on point, and the work-life balance she promotes is something I'll carry with me in my own journey. I’m really going to miss hanging out with her and all the fun times we shared.

My six weeks internship in Melbourne
August 13, 2024by: Aimie Grant - ScotlandProgram: Internships in Melbourne, Australia
My six-week journey in Melbourne with The Intern Group and Tasty Fresh has been an unforgettable experience filled with professional growth, cultural immersion, and personal development. This opportunity not only provided me with invaluable work experience but also allowed me to explore the vibrant city of Melbourne. This internship experience has significantly contributed to my personal development. Living independently in a new city, let alone a new country, taught me essential life skills such as independance, time management, budgeting, and adaptibility. Navigating through challenges and stepping out of my comfort zone helped build my confidence. During my internship with Tasty Fresh, I had multiple projects such as Ethical Hacking, Raspberry Pi Devices, Software Development, Web Development and Electrical Engineering. This provided me with a variety of skills that I have developed over the 6 week internship. Working with colleagues from different backgrounds and cultures broadened my perspective and enhanced my ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural setting. Some of the most memorable experiences was Interacting with Australia’s iconic wildlife such as feeding kangaroos and meeting koalas. Visiting the Melbourne Skydeck offered breathtaking views of the city skyline. The vineyard tour was a delightful excursion where I learned about local wine production and enjoyed tasting some of the region’s finest wines. It was a perfect blend of education and leisure. Attending an Australian Football League (AFL) game was an exciting, confusing and immersive experience. The energy and passion of the fans were contagious, it gave me a deep appreciation for Australia’s sports culture. My six-week internship in Melbourne with The Intern Group and Tasty Fresh has been transformative. The professional skills I gained, the cultural experiences I enjoyed, and the personal growth I achieved have all contributed to making this journey a pivotal chapter in my career and personal life. I am immensely grateful for this opportunity and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking an enriching internship experience.
Thank you for telling us all about your time in Melbourne, Aimie! It really sounds like you made the most of your internship and we're so pleased you had such an enriching time, both professionally and personally. We can't wait to see where your new professional skills take you in your career!
Down Under Discovery
February 27, 2024by: Mark Perez - United StatesOne of the standout aspects of my internship experience was the level of support and mentorship provided by both AIP and my host company. From regular check-ins to constructive feedback sessions, I always felt valued and supported in my growth and development. The guidance I received not only enhanced my technical skills but also helped me gain valuable insights into the industry and workplace culture in Australia. Big thanks to my account manager who made sure a smooth placement process. This wouldn't be possible without the team's effort.
Australian Odyssey
November 29, 2023by: Luke Rodriguez - United StatesAIP ensured a supportive and enriching learning environment for me during my internship. The program's structure allowed for both professional growth and cultural immersion that I have never had before. Grateful for the chance to learn, contribute, enjoy, and immerse myself in both professional and Australian life. The well-coordinated activities and mentorship added tremendous value. Grateful for this opportunity and would highly recommend AIP for an unforgettable internship journey Down Under.
An Inside Look at My Internship Experience in Spain
November 24, 2023by: Alexis Bauer - FranceI had the privilege of completing a remarkable internship experience in Spain facilitated by AIP, and I am delighted to share my thoughts on this transformative journey. Throughout my internship, I had the chance to engage in hands-on projects that stretched my capabilities and allowed me to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in my academic studies. Whether it was collaborating on projects or participating in group discussions, every task contributed to a robust learning experience.
Loved my accommodation and coordinator
May 26, 2023by: Emily Sanchez - United StatesDuring the placement process, The Intern Group only had one mechanical engineering option to offer me at a company based in Colombia and had to switch to a fully remote position. The situation was unfortunate because of the time zone differences and the workload was very independent. This wasn’t the internship I hoped for but it definitely challenged me professionally. The people that arrived the same time as I did + the accommodation made the whole experience worthwhile. Our experience coordinator, Erika, was very welcoming and helpful with everything we needed. We would have weekly meet ups to socialize and do fun activities together. The accommodation is full of other friendly students/travelers and I felt very safe, it’s comparable to a single dorm room.
Thank you for sharing your candid experience! We are glad that you have had an enriching experience overall and we look forward to seeing where your career takes you, Emily
Very good!
June 29, 2022by: Ploy Kongkaeo - ThailandTHANK YOU AIP. Melbourne was INCREDIBLE. I seriously love this country. Ok, maybe not all the bugs, insects, and what nots. Everything else is literally a wonderland. AIP gave me such an amazing internship in Hospitality. Partly because I got to travel and see the countryside. My managers and colleagues were so lovely and kind. I would definitely come back and revisit them. The tasks I was assigned to do were all very helpful and applicable to what I am doing right now which to be honest come to me as a big surprise ‘cause of how accurate they were. This made the transition into my real job seamless. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better internship experience. Many thanks to the patient and incredibly nice AIP staff for answering my calls and responding to my text messages. If you want to do an internship abroad, these guys are the real deal.
G’day Straya!
May 05, 2022by: Dylan Anthony Pena - MexicoI cannot believe it’s been more than a year since I went to the magical land of down under. Australia or ‘Straya’ as the Aussies pronounce it was everything I imagined it would be! I was a little nervous to go to Australia because I was literally on the other side of the world. It’s the furthest I've ever been from my family so that was tough. However, the people at AIP made the whole experience a comfortable one. I did an internship in PR & Marketing and it honestly couldn’t have gone better. I learned so many things and this made me want to further my studies in PR and strive for a career in PR. I got along great with my colleagues and they really helped me immerse myself in the culture. My accommodation was great as well and it wasn’t too far from the office. However, it was on a busy street so more often than not it was quite noisy at night especially on the weekends. Despite this, it was extremely comfortable and near convenience stores and transportation was easily accessible! I want to thank my host company for allowing me to intern at their company, my wonderful colleagues. Special shoutout to my Aussie gang and of course the wonderful staff at AIP for giving me an experience I’ll never forget. Until next time ‘Straya!
The time of my life in Madrid!
January 30, 2022by: Taylor Walsh - United StatesThis program was such a wonderful experience. I stayed in Madrid as one of their first digital nomads where I had the option to work from home while staying in Madrid. I worked with a Madrid marketing agency and sometimes would meet up with my boss to work together or grab coffee. This program was so flexible and fun I was able to travel all around Spain and Europe while adding a perfect internship to my resume. I made some of the best friends I’ve ever had and are still traveling/in contact with them today! The program directors are very involved and make sure you feel welcome in the destination of your choice. They also provide nights out with the other interns of that cohort while introducing new ones each month. I highly recommend this program to anyone wanting to be a world traveler without it impacting their career trajectories in a negative way. Thank you @theinterngroup!
My time in Australia
August 24, 2020by: Carolyn Ernestina - CanadaAs a young individual, I had the opportunity to go to Australia and explore my professional experience else where with the help of AIP finding me a suitable company as well as making the process smoothly in terms of entering the country. I did my internship back in 2019 (pre-covid) and needless to say, it was extremely nerve wrecking as I've never been out of my home country before. I would definitely commend AIP for assisting be throughout the whole placement process and making sure that I was comfortable and satisfied with what I was getting. I have to admit, the companies presented to me in the beginning were a little bit skeptical but I was glad enough to be able to reject offers and receive others until I was getting what I wanted. Overall, great experience!
Amazing program and customer service!
December 21, 2019by: Dennis GovaartsProgram: Internships in Australia | Intern OZ
Intern OZ found me an internship so quickly and you were very willing to help. I hired an other company which couldn't find anything in months while they did it in just 1 day! The e-mail contact was very informative and pleasant. It feels good that the service does not stop after you find me an internship! Furthermore The intern of the week program on social media is an amazing I really liked that!
The best entrepreneurship and innovation trip you could ever do!
December 04, 2019by: Nanisha Rajadurai - MalaysiaProgram: Global CEO Internship
One impactful word: Amazing. I made a lifetime of new connections on good foundations on this trip that I will treasure most definitely. I gained and enhanced skills and knowledge on this trip like never before, from outstanding lecturers and speakers that kindly volunteered their time and effort to do so. I got to experience entrepreneurship and innovation in one of the top 5 startup ecosystems in the world, that made me gained a new and improved perspective on the industry. Thank you Jac, Matt, Jeanette and Chris for choosing me of all people to participate in this program - I will be forever thankful and grateful for this awe-inspiring experience.
Life changing it was like the last 10 years of my life as lead me to this program
November 29, 2019by: Henry Lay - AustraliaProgram: Global CEO Internship
Prior to learning about the program, I had the pleasure to attend the meetups that Jeanette organized back in November 2018 last year at where I learned more about entrepreneurship and technology, it was then that it sparked my curiosity. fast track to 2019 November going through the program and learning so much about the world of tech and startups it was an area that I always wanted to be part of but as with anything in life you learn from your mistakes. Having the chance to meet people from major tech companies like facebook, google, zendesk. to meeting early and late-stage co-founders. What I got out of the program I could say it was 2-4 years of life experience and perspective that would be invaluable to me in life and also the skills and the friendships I have formed that are going to set me up well into the future of my career as I venture further into the start-up and tech space. I am forever grateful for this opportunity and what it has done for me and my family. If you are unsure if this program is right for you or even if you have certainty that it's for you. just say yes and be open to the possibilities that open up to you in the 2 weeks but also what it will set you up after the program.
The best 8 weeks ever!
November 12, 2019by: Katie McWilliams - ScotlandProgram: Internships in Melbourne, Australia
I spent 8 weeks in Melbourne for my internship and it was a fantastic experience which I would fully recommend! From day one, you feel instantly welcomed and supported by the intern team and you get to meet lots of other interns there too which is a great way to make friends. There are also loads of social events going on where you get to meet lots of new people such as the Yarra valley wine tour, going to the Marvel stadium to watch a game of Aussie footie or going to to the wildlife sanctuary. My internship was with an energy consulting firm. The firm was very friendly, inviting and really made you feel part of the team. I got to be a part of meetings, reviews and got a really helpful insight into consulting. It's hard not to love Melbourne, living there for 8 weeks was amazing. There is always something going on from Christmas markets to music festivals. You can cuddle koalas and visit some local penguins. It's great for food, art, music and shops. Even walking around the city is fun and interesting with all the street art and live music. There is no need to travel beyond Melbourne but if you have never been to Australia and you are excited to explore and get to see different places, it is also very easy to travel around. I visited Sydney and Cairns during my time there which were both incredible experiences.

Useful
November 05, 2019by: Hardik ParateProgram: Internships in Australia | Intern OZ
From this internship, I learned a lot about computing and programming languages. Programming languages are a major skill set that I learned and as this was a bioinformatics internship I got experience in a different field which I think was useful. I really liked working on my own project, exploring new software and learning new programming languages.
Unusual experience
September 27, 2019by: Michael Iakunin - RussiaProgram: Global CEO Internship
It was very first time for me to participate in business activities. It was useful and I spend great time in Singapore. I really liked the way Jeanette and Jac supported us during the journey. It was very helpful. I liked different activities that we had. We visited HQ of google and grab. Also, we had heaps of interesting and inspiring speakers. The biggest drawback was the accommodation. Also, if you are not okay with high humidity, Singapore isn’t best destination for you.
