July 20, 2026by: Daniella Knapp - United StatesProgram: GLA Bali Programs for Teens
Everything about the trip was perfect. Getting to work with the kids in a school and build connections despite language barriers was such an amazing experience. The adventure aspects such as surfing and white water rafting are also SO FUN!

Daughter has been to Dominican Republic and Bali and currently gearing up for RSA in July. Just spoken with GLA on easily booked phone call. As always utterly superb. If you're wondering about putting your child in their care don't panic. Pre Adventure organisation brilliant.. Adventure life changing for kids and parents kept fully informed. What an experience!
June 01, 2025by: Skye Sowden - CanadaProgram: GLA Bali Programs for Teens
I arrived curious. I left clearer, more grounded, and deeply connected to something bigger than myself. From the community projects to the cultural immersion, every day challenged me to lead with more empathy, more humility, and more presence. I learned that leadership isn’t about being loud it’s about listening. Showing up. Staying open. Bali gave me beauty, yes but it also gave me perspective. And I’ll carry that with me long after the flight home.
Changed my life!

One of the biggest benefits of going on the Bali Experience 3 week immersion is how many experiences I got to learn and grow from. There is so much different things on offer that I would never get exposed to back home. I found my heart and mind stretched in ways that could not happen any other way. I also had a chance to really bond with people in my group. A few of those special people I'm still in touch with and 2 of them have come to visit me at my home. I loved the people, I loved the country and I loved contributing in whatever small way to some of the environmental issues they face.
I was able to put myself in uncomfortable situations and embrace them.
August 08, 2024by: Jade S.Program: GLA Bali Programs for Teens
I grew because I was able to put myself in uncomfortable situations and embrace them. I was also able to learn so much more about the environment. The surfing was so fun, I wish we could add more of that. Mentors were all so great and made us feel comfortable and were kind.
Awesome Mentors & Great Time
August 08, 2024by: Allison W.Program: GLA Bali Programs for Teens
I loved each staff member, they all made the trip both fun but also very educational, made us all feel safe, comfortable, and allowed us all to have a great time! Thank you to the staff for making this trip amazing! My favorite leadership activity was the One meaningful goal activity because it allowed me to reflect on myself and make a specific goal that can impact both myself and those around me.
I felt at home and comfortable and able to help others.
August 08, 2024by: Stella S.Program: GLA Bali Programs for Teens
I 100% grew during my service projects. At first I was uncomfortable and unsure of my place but after allowing myself to take a leadership position, I felt at home and comfortable and able to help others. I loved all of the activities. Although we did a lot of service activities I personally would’ve loved if there were more. I also really enjoyed learning everything about the culture of Bali and would’ve appreciated more knowledge and activities with that.
I discovered how to and how much of an impact I can have or already create.

Staff are AMAZING
July 23, 2024by: Kayla A.Program: GLA Bali Programs for Teens
I felt as though what I was doing was making an impact right in front of my eyes. I believe I grew to become more confident in my skills, and become more comfortable taking risks. I enjoyed growing my understanding or a variety of different topics but my favourite is just learning about holistic medicine. I believe that the staff worked perfectly to provide the best experience possible. I truly enjoyed the role of each of the staff and how it added to my experience.
I now have a different dream of what I want to do
August 08, 2023by: Alexandra R.Program: GLA Bali Programs for Teens
Originally I chose this program because dealt with medicine and health and that is what I was interested in doing when I am older. After this program, although I still enjoy learning about health, I now have a different dream of what I want to do when older. The mentors here and the incredible opportunities GLA offered me encouraged me to venture out of my comfort zone which made me realize I have seen so little of the world. I know want to take a gap year before college and also travel as much as possible

August 08, 2023by: Maria C.Program: GLA Bali Programs for Teens
Traveling to Bali with GLA was the most incredible decision I've ever made. Each day, I fondly revisit the incredible memories I forged during the trip and nurture the enduring relationships I formed there. The unique emotions and experiences shared with my fantastic group will forever remain etched in my mind. Our collaborative efforts to enhance leadership and teamwork have become invaluable lessons that I will carry with me always. The newfound independence I gained through this program is a gift I'll forever appreciate. Not only did I adopt a fresh perspective on life, but I also unearthed cherished aspects of my own identity. As a result of this transformative experience, I've chosen to expand my career horizons internationally, guided by the core values instilled in me during my time traveling with GLA. My gratitude knows no bounds, especially towards the dedicated staff team--they have all played pivotal roles in making my journey as enriching as possible. I'm profoundly thankful for this opportunity of a lifetime!
Making memories in Bali
October 17, 2019by: Walker Selby - United StatesProgram: Travel For Teens: Bali Ultimate Service and Adventure
Traveling to Bali with Travel for Teens has been one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I was excited to embrace long-haul international travel and finally explore somewhere that far from my home. Like a lot of people, I was nervous about how I was going to fit in within the group. That was fear was quickly squashed and I formed some very close friendships with everyone on the trip, from other travelers to the counselors to our amazing local guides. This trip was very diverse in many ways: both in the cultures of the regions we visited, the activities that we did, and the composition of our surrounding environment. This trip had a bit of everything, which I loved! We went from cityscapes to mountains to beaches. We had valuable service opportunities, working to restore coral reefs and practicing English with local children and more. We also had adventures like white water rafting, mountainside hikes, and scuba diving. It is really difficult to answer the question “what was your favorite part of the trip” because there really wasn’t one singular event; however, a part of the trip that I found really valuable was eating dinner with the prince. Talking with him provided insight into their culture and their views. He answered our questions about Bali and we answered his about America and Canada. 21 days flew by so fast and while our group is no longer in Bali, the friendships and memories remain.
A truly life-changing experience!
October 15, 2019by: Riley Heitmann - United StatesProgram: Travel For Teens: Bali Ultimate Service and Adventure
This past summer I went on the Bali Ultimate Service and Adventure trip. At first, I was hesitant to sign up for this trip as it was 10,000 miles from my home and it was 21 days long. However, once I arrived, I knew that I had made the right decision. The counselors, other campers, and I immediately all clicked and we became so close that we called ourselves a family. On top of the close relationships that I formed, the trip and all of the activities that we did were amazing. TFT did a really good job of creating a schedule that was a perfect mix of fun, service, and immersion in the culture. When asked what day or activity on the trip was my favorite, I couldn’t choose. Everyday was filled with amazing activities. Apart from the fun and adventurous activities that we did such as white water rafting, we also participated in life-changing service. One service activity that we did was tutoring children at the local schools. It was amazing to see the impact that just a couple of English classes had on those kids, it was truly a life-changing experience that I will never forget. I was able to check off Bali from my bucket list, while getting service hours, and making some of the best friends that I have ever had!
