The BA (Hons) in Hair and Make-Up for Screen and Film is a three-year full-time degree taught at the Screen and Film School in Brighton. The program aims to equip students with the skills essential for careers in the film and TV industry. It combines hands-on experience with academic learning to prepare students for professional environments. The course runs alongside Filmmaking and Production Design degrees, offering opportunities for collaboration on real film projects. Core modules cover basic skills and collaborative experiences, while optional modules in the second year allow students to specialize in areas like SFX make-up, period hair and make-up, and prosthetics. The final year focuses on a personal design project and the production of a final live film. Applicants need a minimum of two A-levels at Grade C or above (64 UCAS points) or a BTEC Level 3 equivalent. Additionally, three GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English Language, are required. International students must have an IELTS score of 6.0, with no band lower than 5.5. Students must purchase a Hair and Make-Up Kit which must be obtained before the course starts in September.
