Optional astrophotography sessions will also be available, conditions permitting. The workshop includes access to a specialist wildlife photography hide, and we place strong emphasis on learning about local conservation efforts. You’ll work with survey teams that regularly walk along the beaches to protect nests while monitoring vulnerable seagrass meadows and dunes that are important for the turtles. Our Florence program is one of Abbey Road's most popular study abroad programs for nearly twenty years running. Join conservation efforts along the west coast of Greece, where GVI partners with a local organisation to protect loggerhead turtles and their breeding sites. You will monitor nests and turtles, build protective structures, and collect data. With your assistance, the growing awareness of these turtles will lead to better protection for them, ensuring more hatchlings join the population each year. Combine your conservation efforts with learning about the arts and culture of the country. Traverse archaeological sites, medieval ruins, fortresses, and learn about ancient olympic history. Or, develop your palate with local dishes before exploring nearby mountain terrain and heading back to your beachside campsite for the night’s nesting activities. With short- and mid-term contributions, you are supporting the long-term goal of the project, and assisting in measuring our contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including: Goal 14: Life Below Water, Goal 15: Life On Land, Goal 17: Partnerships For Goals, and Goal 11: Sustainable Cities And Communities.

Adelante Abroad’s newest program, the Summer Golf Study Abroad in Scotland, is now taking applicants for summer 2026! This four-week golf experience offers a high-performance program that includes courses on the History and Development of Golf, Golf Coaching, Intermediate Performance Skills, and work experience at St. Andrews/Gleneagles for a week. These two courses provide practical and theoretical training, strengthening students' resumes. Visits and tee times are scheduled at courses like Arbroath, Boat of Garten, Kingarrock Hickory Golf Course, and others. Students are advised to contact their academic counselor to review the descriptions of the three courses for appropriate transfer academic credit. The program will be held just north of Edinburgh at Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) Elmwood campus in the old market town of Cupar, alongside rich rural scenery, farmland, and country estates. The SRUC Elmwood Campus is recognized as a national and international center for golf-related specialisms. If you are a golf enthusiast or a sports recreation and management major, this program is for you.
