This 9-day family adventure combines hands-on sea turtle conservation with meaningful nature experiences on Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula. Families join a renowned and ethical conservation initiative that welcomes volunteers of all ages from around the world, creating an engaging and supportive atmosphere. During the June–February nesting season, you’ll help monitor beaches, record data, and support hatchling releases when conditions allow. While sea turtle sightings cannot always be guaranteed, families participate in impactful conservation work year-round, including sustainability and wildlife restoration projects. As a family, you will work alongside a respected conservation team dedicated to protecting coastal ecosystems and sea turtle populations. The project welcomes volunteers from around the world, creating a multicultural environment where families feel supported and engaged. Nesting activity can reach up to 100 nests per month during peak periods; however, sea turtle behavior varies naturally, so sightings and hatchling events are never guaranteed.

The Corcovado National Park, where you will find the Osa Peninsula, is home to 2.5 percent of the world's biodiversity and 50 percent of Costa Rica's wildlife, making this one of the most biologically intense places on earth. The rainforest is thriving with life, making the conservation efforts of this region extremely important. Be a part of the sustainability movement by volunteering with two local organizations. A portion of your time will be spent planting trees to prevent flooding on the river, a natural barrier that can help regenerate the rainforest, setting up camera traps to record wildlife data, visiting a local family's home, learning from local farmers, and discussing life in Costa Rica over a home-cooked dinner with a local mother. Your efforts are part of larger initiatives that work to help create market incentives to protect the land from development. When you're not working with the local community, hike along the Poas Volcano crater, explore the many waterfalls of the region, swim in the clear blue waters, and relax in your luxury tented camps. For the adventurous types, choose to whitewater raft, zip-line, surf, and more.

Venture to some of the world’s most exotic and intriguing regions, ranging from the turquoise waters of Panama, the lush jungles of Costa Rica, and the white-sand beaches of Belize. Rafting on Costa Rica’s exhilarating Pacuare River, the vibrancy of life in the jungle beckons us in the calls of toucans and howler monkeys. Partnering with local biologists on the Pacific Coast, we learn about the current issues facing conservation efforts Basking in the crystal clear waters of improbably white sand beaches, we take in the beauty of the Caribbean. Green Life Volunteers is a registered non-profit organization or association in Costa Rica. We just earn enough to cover operational expenses, like payments for office space, employee services, and basic organizational costs. We work hard to provide volunteers with an amazing experience, with a lot of hours thrown into administration, logistics, phone calls, Skyping, emailing, and so forth. The minimal fee to cover the basic operational needs will be covered through the higher program fee required in the first week. We have excellent projects throughout Costa Rica, which are a result of many years of collaboration and research. The projects we collaborate with are in actual need of help and have experience working with volunteers. This guarantees that you will have a great time and an awesome experience. The projects are always run by local members of the community, non-profit, and with a benefit for people, nature, or animals. The guest families have been handpicked by local staff, and all of them have years of experience hosting foreigners and volunteers. They are always happy to welcome you, and they will be your family away from home.
