The discipline of history concerns itself with the stories and interpretations that provide meaning for human life. Just as with individuals, loss of historical memory makes societies, faith, movements, and ideas rootless. This is why Veritas has given special priority to the Christian study of history. To properly engage with other nations, whether through education, evangelism, or business, we must know their histories. We must understand our background and the backgrounds of others if we are going to develop effective relationships. Students will have the opportunity to study their fields for credit, as well as serve the Italian community in Rome, and enroll in our Veritas courses.

Living and studying in the birthplace of the Renaissance is an unparalleled experience. The LdM Florence campus comprises 16 properties peppered among the iconic Duomo, artisanal gelaterias, and the legacies of great scientists and artists of human history. Walking to classes in Florence’s historical center—the entirety of which is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site—LdM students enjoy the city's jewels, marvel at its beauty, and make meaningful memories every day. At LdM, students can take advantage of over 500 courses ranging across the humanities, creative arts, design fields, social sciences, gastronomic and culinary arts, and Italian language and culture. Take an equivalent of Physics II + lab and 1-2 non-engineering courses by day, and then retreat to romantic piazzas or festive restaurants overlooking the sea by night. This program, vetted by the University of Michigan International Engineering Programs, offers you a chance to enjoy the summer abroad while getting ahead in a core class necessary for your engineering degree. Other courses on offer include Italian, international tourism, marketing, archaeology, and sustainability. The Sant’Anna Institute encourages students to become members of this special community on the Mediterranean during their time abroad. The Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence is an international, inter-university program offered by the Universities of Milan-Bicocca, Milan State, and Pavia, taught entirely in English. Administrative headquarters are in Pavia, with classes across all three campuses.
