Modern society is dealing with an increasing number and variety of challenges in the area of Life Sciences. Improved medical care has increased the life span of the population, resulting to a greater need for treatments for age-related disorders, including Alzheimers disease, diabetes, and cancer. Bacteria under high selective pressure are acquiring broad antibiotic resistance, resulting to a need to develop innovative antibacterial drugs. Potential risks inherent in industrialized food production are also starting to become apparent. In this research-focused master’s programme, you will become familiar with current insights in molecular– and cell biological processes, advanced experimental approaches, apply bioinformatics to analyze data, and carry out research projects.
