Join us for the adventure of a lifetime! Volunteers For Peace (a Vermont-based nonprofit) can place you on a team of international volunteers who contribute to a meaningful community service project designed, planned, and hosted by local partners. We offer the most affordable projects and the best way to meet people from all over the world. Work project types vary by country but may include environmental and wildlife conservation, historic preservation, educational and language learning, archaeology, organic farming, and arts and festivals. Moonlight Children’s Home established in April 2009 provides a home for the abandoned homeless and orphan children of Nepal. MCH is a registered (NGO) non–profit, non-government organization of Nepal to provide home, food, education, clothes, a healthy environment and entertainment to the development of children so that they grow up to lead a normal life and become good citizens. Thousands of parents, especially mothers, die every year due to poverty, ignorance and superstitions. There are large numbers of children who lost their parents and become orphans. Moreover, Nepal suffered from conflict for about twelve years. Duringthis period many people lost their lives and many were orphaned during the decade-long Maoist conflict. After the devastating earthquake in Nepal in 2015, several children lost their families and became orphans. Realising these facts Moonlight Children’s Home was established to improve the suffering of these children. In our patriarchal society females are dominated by the male society in every aspect of their lives and to grab the opportunities as a whole. So Moonlight Children’s Home is especially for the protection of such kinds of needs and orphan girls.

Globe Aware's Nepal program is based in the lush valley of Chitwan, 60 miles outside of Kathmandu. This is a region where traditional mountain life and a variety of exotic wildlife reign. Your fully packed schedule will have you working three full days on either or both of these projects. Teaching As a volunteer, you can work in a school developed to provide free or near-to-free education to children below the poverty line. Help teach subjects like English, Art, Music, and more. You can also provide tutoring to students with learning difficulties, helping them learn essential problem-solving skills and build their confidence by playing sports and games. Renovation You can focus on renovating old homes, which are falling apart and in desperate need of repairs, and building hygiene stations. Many of these homes belong to families with low incomes and are unable to afford the repairs themselves. In 2015, Nepal experienced a 7.8-magnitude earthquake. Aftershocks are followed by another earthquake just days after. These disasters left many people homeless or with homes badly in need of repair.

Get involved in the Woman Empowerment Project offered by Friends for Asia, and get the chance to make a real difference in the lives of women Nepal, a beautiful but impoverished country. Years of insurgency and political uncertainty have caused the country to fall behind many of its neighbors when it comes to human rights. An uneasy peace now exists, but little has been done at government level to help the women of Nepal. This is where Friends for Asia comes in. Our volunteers work with disadvantaged women in a number of centers to educate, assist and help them lead their lives with dignity in a male-dominated society. Volunteering in Nepal - A Day in the Life Our Woman Empowerment Project allows our Nepal volunteers to really get to the heart of Nepal life. Volunteers will work closely with disadvantaged women to educate them and give them a new perspective on life. This can be done throughout the day through basic interaction and activities. Volunteers will also schedule classes in subjects that help the women help themselves, such as English, computer skills, office skills and other skills that will aid them in the path to employment or further education.
