With programs spanning Asia, AVA offers flexible start dates and program lengths ranging from two weeks to six months, making it easy to fit a life-changing experience into your schedule. You don't need professional experience or specialized skills to join most programs, just enthusiasm, an open mind, and a genuine desire to help.
AVA's in-country coordinators provide 24/7 on-the-ground support, ensuring volunteers feel safe, welcomed, and well-prepared from day one. Orientation sessions, airport transfers, and comfortable accommodations in volunteer houses or homestays are all part of the package.

In which countries does the AVA volunteering program operate?
Our program currently covers 18 countries across South and Southeast Asia, as well as Central Asia:
Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Timor Leste, Philippines
South Asia: Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
Central Asia: Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia
You can choose your preferred destination when you apply. Each country offers different types of projects
What is the minimum program duration?
We recommend a minimum participation of 2 weeks. One week is generally too short to make a meaningful impact and settle into the local community.
What is the program fee, inclusions, & exclusions?
Fees range from $370 to $600 for a 2‑week placement (the exact cost depends on the country and project type).

In-country & emergency support
Certificate of International Volunteer Service
Exclusions:
Airfare to/from the host country
Life insurance
You're required to arrange your travel & health insurance before departure. We can provide recommendations if needed.
