This unique location offers a perfect blend of meaningful community work and adventure, with close access to Ol Pejeta Conservancy and Samburu National Reserve. Volunteers stay in a secure, scenic residence facing Mount Kenya, with comfortable shared accommodation, reliable internet, a fully equipped kitchen, and outdoor gazebos, hammocks, and bonfire spaces for relaxation and connection. Who you will work with: You will be volunteering with MARWACODI and its leader, Olivia, who will introduce you to the programs, communities, and beneficiaries. You will work in villages and schools. The communities you will serve are mostly rural, living off small-scale agriculture, casual labour, and informal services. In the Health and Hygiene program, you will primarily work with teenagers and children (ages 5-16). Living in poverty, some of them do not go to school, but are eager to meet visitors and participate in your activities. About the program: In the Health and Hygiene Program, you will contribute to two of MarwaCodi’s core activities in villages and schools near Diani Beach. Health and Personal Growth of Teenagers: You will help conduct workshops and educate teenagers on reproductive health, self-awareness, responsible behaviour, and personal growth. You can mentor teens, conduct health talks, or organize sports and awareness events. Improving Hygiene: You will help eradicate jigger infestations and improve general hygiene. You can assist in home visits, shoe distributions, and organize community hygiene education workshops and talks.
