The Bunong Community Project is located in the remote mountain town of Sen Monorom in Mondulkiri province, which is in the Eastern highland region of Cambodia that borders Vietnam. Mondulkiri province is traditionally one of the most inaccessible, least populated, and isolated regions of Cambodia. Owing to its seclusion, semi-nomadic people known as the Bunong remain the dominant ethnic group of the region. In recent years, the Bunong people have found their way of life increasingly under threat as Mondulkiri becomes more easily accessible to the outside world. The project focuses on supporting the Bunong people by assisting local staff to study, record, and document their unique culture, traditions, and language before they change forever. Volunteers will be based in an office with local staff cataloging information they have collected. There may be field visits to local villages to collect information on all aspects of Bunong culture and to assist staff and aid the volunteers' understanding and learning. This may be in the form of interviews, but also through recording songs and videoing traditional aspects of the culture.

We are looking for passionate graduates, who are keen to learn about global challenges, work with youth and define their own purpose. Volunteers For Peace (a Vermont-based nonprofit) can place you on a team of international volunteers who contribute to a meaningful community service project designed, planned, and hosted by local partners. New Dream of Cambodian Children Organization (NDCCO) is a non-profit organization in Phneachey Village, on the outskirts of Siem Reap. NDCCO was founded in 2014 and was registered as an official NGO in 2018 with the government of Cambodia under number 2197. We provide free education, school meals, and community support to underprivileged children and families from our partner communities. We believe education is a key factor in the fight against poverty and that every child has the unalienable right to access quality basic education. NDCCO has an approach that emphasizes sustainable education. We work with the local village chief to target families in most need, offering them a place at the school. Most jobs in Siem Reap are in the hospitality services; thus, the ability to communicate in English is required to access employment. By providing free English lessons to underprivileged kids, we offer them greater employment opportunities. With the help of volunteers, we deliver lessons five days a week to over 230 kids from 6 to 17 years old.

Contribute to a two-pronged approach to marine conservation in this volunteer program. Join Conservation Cambodia, an integral part of Cambodia Diving Academy—located in the coastal town of Sihanoukville. Our program happens both in and out of the water. We protect local reefs and grow them through sustainable coral farming. We also build awareness among local Cambodians and people beyond national borders. The goal is to create a long-term coral propagation nursery and an information center that shares insights on sustainable marine practices. Volunteer tasks typically include increasing our social media presence, improving our website and digital infrastructure, and taking care of other administrative tasks. This marine conservation and community enrichment program lasts from 1 week to several months. We welcome volunteers interested in helping with any or all of our projects and running the program. We have a community development project in rural Cambodia where circular economy initiatives support a free education center for impoverished youth. We offer free classes to the community, as well as help them gain access to higher education and resources. Our school is supported by the production of recycled products & bamboo straws, an organic skincare line developed from our permaculture farm, and wellness retreats. We seek volunteers and interns to help us develop our educational curriculum for students, assist teachers, work on our organic farm, develop strategies for selling our programs, create sustainable systems in our eco-pool and eco-building projects, and work on sustainable leadership with our Environmental Initiatives Level Four class. There are many aspects of our program where we could use more hands. We like to develop a personalized mission for all volunteers and interns to maximize impact and create a clear mission that utilizes individuals' skills.
