Voluntario Global, founded in 2006, has been developing programs to empower social organizations, improve education, and train youth for over 10 years. In 2014, we started our new project in the Milpa Community. This community center, located in Pacheco, Buenos Aires, helps young people from the surrounding area learn gardening and landscaping, framed in agroecology, which is understood as a science, social movement, and practice. Our primary goal is to empower local people with the skills to find employment, gain confidence, and thrive in a community-oriented way of living. At the Milpa Community Center, we strive for local development and aim to achieve sustainability in its three dimensions: environmental, social, and economic. We believe that by creating more community experiences, we empower people, especially youth, to be conscious and reflective about their future and choose a communitarian and cooperative life over an individualistic and self-seeking one. The project is 1.30 hours away from the city, with the option to stay in on-site accommodation. We can arrange accommodation in the city on your days off, or you can choose to stay in the city.
