The adventure of a lifetime

Program: IVHQ Childcare Support Volunteering in Cordoba, Argentina

IVHQ showed me amazing support and safety for the complete duration of my trip, and they also introduced me to the lives of local people in Cordoba, Argentina. This experience was absolutely incredible, it opened my eyes up to a culture very different from my own and taught me about the importance of compassion, awareness, and independence. The volunteer placement I was at was a local daycare for children 2-4 years old. I helped the teacher make sure the kids weren't causing trouble and I helped clean up and classroom and serve lunch everyday. Although the language barrier was difficult (I hardly speak any Spanish and the kids/teachers don't speak any English), I caught on pretty quick and found ways to communicate nonverbally. This was the adventure of a lifetime and it felt so good to help those in need. I highly recommend traveling with IVHQ - they have a great staff, great accommodations, great food, and great prices. I will definitely be traveling with them again soon.
