Foreign Language Study Abroad Programs in Barcelona, Spain

I chose AIFS Abroad because of the variety of programs that they offer. I went to Paris, France for a January term to take an Accounting class at the American Business College. The AIFS staff was super helpful with me. Even before departure, they were there for me helping me with my housing options and to coordinate my flights, during my program they invited us to different excursions and to the AIFS office in Paris to know the staff and after the program they were very interested in our feedback and reviews. During my program I stayed with a host family and it was such an amazing thing because i got to experience French culture first-hand while also sharing a little bit about my own culture. The American Business College is a place where students from different cultures and backgrounds share one same perspective on global business with an American point of view, which made everything easier for me. This program had a great impact in my life because it made me get out of my comfort zone and get to know so many people while earning credit towards my degree. I'd recommend AIFS Abroad to anyone looking to study abroad or intern while getting credits towards their degree. AIFS is very helpful, has so many programs available and a staff who is always willing to make the best for you.

Forum-Nexus was an amazing experience. I made many new friends, enjoyed the professional and cultural visits, and loved the balance between school and fun. The staff was amazing, and I would definitely recommend it.

Really enjoyed my time here, wish I could have stayed longer. The only caveat is that the crowd tends to be either rather young (think 16-19) or older (40+) so if you are in the middle of that (I was 22) befriending people may be a bit more awkward, especially with the constantly changing crowd. However, that was not a big problem as I was able to make many great friends outside the program (and some within as well!). Staff were all incredibly informed, helpful, and outgoing and really made the time a blast. The events they offered were plentiful and diverse as well, which was very handy and good for meeting various people. Additionally, the spanish lessons were taught fully in spanish (although staff knows english and helped answer questions in english when people truly didn’t know how to communicate in spanish) which was very good and helped rapidly increase my spanish comprehension and skills.

I had such a great time, the program leaders were super helpful with living situations adjusting to the different aspects here and all my professors were awesome. They all cared a lot about the courses and wanted me to succeed and do better! They excursions that they provide are also super fun and you should go on as many as possible.

I loved working with you all. Emma was so Kind and devoted - my students loved her too. My housing was perfect. Student housing was excellent notwithstanding no air conditioning but they survived. Tours were great- we all learned a lot.

I had a really good experience with Forum-Nexus overall. The program gave me the chance to travel a lot, meet great people, and learn more about different countries in a way that felt interesting and personal. I liked that the staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotels were some of the best I’ve stayed in. Some visits were better than others, but the overall balance of academics, free time, and cultural experiences made the program worth it. I’d recommend it to other students, especially if they want to make friends and grow through travel.

There are not enough works to express how amazing this experience was for me because I ended up meeting my best friends during my last semester of college. We all signed up for different programs through AIFS, but since we lived in the same building, we were able to bond and dive deeper into the beauties of Barcelona together. We were able to travel to different countries and do fun excursions through AIFS like visit a winery, go hiking in Montserrat, take a cooking class and visit the city's landmarks. While we had to adapt to the cultural differences, living with other AIFS students and spending time with everyone in the program was truly a home away from home. These people were my foundation. We were able to be vulnerable with one another and discover not just a whole new culture together but learn things about ourselves that we never realized before. I will always remember when my friends and I wrote letters to one another to read on the flight home from Barcelona and I do not think I will ever cry as hard as I did than when I read those letters. We have gone from being just steps away from each other in our student residence to being separated by thousands of miles. Barcelona will always be our special place, and I am so thankful to AIFS for introducing me to my best friends.

Even though I was only there for 3 weeks there was a camaraderie with the teacher and the classes. The best elements were each Wenedsday there was an outdoor component of the class. I also signed up for the Spanish in the CIty sessions, which were Tuesdays and Thursdays-- those were so interesteing and a great way to learn about the city. All the teachers are so friendly and they have activities literally every day of the week so students from different levels also get to mingle.

I would be likely to recommend CIEE Study Abroad to a friend because the program offers strong academic support, well-organized experiences, and opportunities to immerse yourself in a new environment. It’s a great way to grow personally and academically while feeling supported throughout the process.

I would likely recommend it because I had a great experience with CIEE. Taking a gap year after high school was rewarding, and climbing Montserrat was one of my favorite memories of the program.

My experience with Erasmus mobility in Barcelona was very lovely and formative: the staff was always very nuce and helpful. The Spanish course very interesting. Barcelona is a welcoming and wonderful town.People was really open and avaible!

When I decided I wanted to go abroad, I was nervous about a lot of things. First off, I was scared that when I went abroad I would have to settle for a location I did not want to be in because I needed my credits to transfer over. Luckily AIFS had a program in a wonderful city with a bunch of classes that would transfer back to my home university super well. When I chose this program, I was overjoyed but nervous about living in a homestay. When I got there I was happily surprised to find that my host family was amazing and provided me with an experience I would not have been able to have if I had been in a dorm/apt. The people that I met in the program were some of the coolest people I have ever known and am happy to call them my friends to this day. If you are looking for a great program in Paris where you have the freedom to meet new people, travel, and find yourself in a new place, I would 100% recommend this to you!

I was only able to take a one week course and enjoyed it very much. I had the opportunity to practice with other students. I appreciated the class size of only 5 students. I appreciated that I was in a class with more mature (over 30) students.

La mobilità Erasmus in Spagna, nella città di Barcellona, è stata un'esperienza molto interessante: il soggiorno in una residenza per studenti è stato confortevole, i mezzi ci hanno permesso di raggiungere agevolmente varie parti della città, il corso intensivo di lingua spagnola ha contribuito a farci conoscere le funzioni linguistiche, il lessico e la cultura del paese. Lo studio della lingua è stata un'opportunità di formazione straordinaria, poiché vi è stato un continuo confronto con persone provenienti da tanti paesi d'Europa: Francia, Paesi Bassi, Svezia, Slovenia. La scuola di lingua è ben organizzata ci ha accolto con grande ospitalità; tante sono state le attività proposte io orario pomeridiano: escursioni, mini corso di pittura, preparazione della sangria e tanto altro. La citta di Barcellona è unica, vibrante di energia e bellezza, riserva a tutti i suoi visitatori tante inaspettate sorprese e suggestive impressioni. Un viaggio che ha pienamente centrato l'obiettivo: arricchire le competenze linguistiche, interculturali. Un'esperienza formativa e professionale nel pieno spirito internazionale, che contribuisce a costruire un' Europa più inclusiva e connessa.

My experience attending Expanish language course abroad was extremely positive and enriching, both from an academic and a personal point of view. The language course was very well organized and highly interesting. The lessons were structured in a clear and effective way, combining theory with practical activities that allowed students to actively use the language in real-life situations. This approach made learning enjoyable and motivating. The teacher was one of the strongest points of the experience. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and always well prepared for each lesson. The accommodation was also a positive aspect of the experience. The room was essential but clean and comfortable, providing everything necessary for a pleasant stay. Moreover, the staff of the residence were always kind, helpful, and available to assist with any request or problem, which made me feel welcomed and safe. Overall, this experience exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to improve their language skills while enjoying an international environment.

I experienced the my teachers to be engaged and well prepared for classes. To attend just for two weeks I think I revised my knowledge of the Spanish language satisfactorily and I am pleased by that.

Good teacher and Quality of the curse. Group a little bit too large (more then 10 people). Activities besides the curse ok, maybe some more activities would be fine, but this depends on the acceptance of the students, too. The apartment in Yugo Garbi was ok, a little bit loud, but its normal in this case (mostly Students and young people).

I really enjoyed passing my 1 week intensive Spanish course at Expanish Buenos Aires! It was a wonderful experience for me: I learned a lot and/because I had so much fun in the C1 course; best possible group and teacher I could imagine. I also really liked the conversation course with the expeditions to museums. And: The school atmosphere is so welcoming, cosmopolitan and open minded; a perfect place to enlarge the horizon and get to know new people. Thank you so much!!!
