Students with a desire to deeply experience Japanese culture will find their perfect study abroad experience in Nagoya. Students will be directly enrolled into the university which will allow for a full immersion experience. Nagoya is the fourth largest city in Japan and is located in central Japan. It is know for its many rituals and festivals. Students have the opportunity to learn Japanese through intensive language courses. In addition, they are able to choose from a variety of courses taught in English including Business, Social Science, and Humanities. Learning is not limited to the classroom in Nagoya, students will experience Japanese culture through the variety of museums and ancient architecture. Depending on which semester students attend, two to three semesters of college-level Japanese are required.

In Summer, Hokkaido is the best location to study Japanese and enjoy activities with Japanese people. Our small number Japanese class help your Japanese learning with trips and opportunities to practice your language skills in real life situations! Hokkaido JaLS takes our standard 15 Japanese lessons per week and add two traditional culture experiences per week for six weeks. Our students have the chance to experience a variety of Japanese culture, such as trying on kimono, making sushi, and tea ceremonies. Japanese volunteers participate in many of these events, giving students the opportunity to improve their Japanese in a setting other than the classroom and to make friends and experience Japan from the inside, not just as a tourist. Students also have the opportunity to attend our three weekly optional activities to enjoy all that Hokkaido has to offer, such as rafting in the summer.

The NRCSA Center in Kyoto has been teaching the Japanese language to foreigners since its establishment in 1969. Students come to study from all over the world with a variety of goals. Many of them have taken what they have learned, and applied it in areas such as business and research, while many others have gone on to continue their education at colleges, universities, graduate schools, and research centers all over Japan. All teaching staff meets the requirements of the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education, an association aimed at improving the quality of Japanese language institutions by training school personnel and granting approval to those who meet the standards. The center was recognized as an accredited school by the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Justice in 1981 and as an intermediary for immigration-related procedures in 1987. In 1989, the same year as the establishment of the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education, Kyoto Center received certification as an educational institution for the Japanese language.
