Join IFR on the stunning coast of Sardinia to conduct cutting-edge research on dolphin behavior and investigate human impacts on marine ecosystems. In this immersive study abroad program, you’ll join expert-led surveys to monitor dolphin populations in Alghero’s marine protected areas, using bioacoustic technology to analyze underwater soundscapes. The Master’s Degree in Marine Sciences is a two-year, English-taught program welcoming Italian and international students. The curriculum takes a multidisciplinary approach, combining cutting-edge research and practical skills to address environmental challenges in marine and coastal systems. Students gain expertise in natural resource management, coastal protection, fisheries and aquaculture, maritime spatial planning, and scientific communication. Practical training encompasses national and international fieldwork, as well as experience in top research labs, such as the MaRHE Center in the Maldives. Graduates are prepared for careers as marine environment analysts, ecologists, coastal management experts, and policy advisors, or for pursuing doctoral studies.
