Program Overview
Sant’Anna Institute is located in the town of Sorrento in southern Italy, which was named for the mythical sirens purported to exist offshore. Its picturesque landscape has played host to historical luminaries from legendary Greek warrior Odysseus, to Romantic poet Lord Byron, to continental philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. Sorrento is near to many intriguing archaeological sites, and, curiously, boasts the world’s finest lemons! These are grown in the mineral-enriched volcanic soil from nearby Mount Vesuvius. The town is located within thirty minutes’ travel of Pompeii, Capri, and Positano.
Sant’Anna offers a range of academic possibilities to broaden your horizons and deepen your studies. Internships, field study, research, leadership and community engagement opportunities, and extracurricular activities will take you out of the classroom and into the authentic communities of Italy.
