CIEE Semester Internships CIEE Semester Global Internships are 9 to 13-credit, 12-week programs that feature a full-time internship (approximately 30 hours weekly), a seminar, and an optional 3 to 4-credit academic course online. CIEE Semester Intern and Study Abroad Programs are 12 to 14-credit, 12-week programs that feature a part-time internship​ (approximately 20 hours weekly), a seminar, and two academic courses.

Molise Italian Studies Faculty-Led programs are not traditional study abroad trips. We partner with faculty to develop a framework of inquiry and reflection, as well as prepare specific background and culture-specific content to set the stage for effective community-based learning. Students and faculty alike will take part in an authentic Italian experience customized for any field of study, all centered around Global Intercultural Citizenship education. Teach your course content as you discover with your students an unknown Italy while sampling unparalleled local foods and learning to bridge cultural differences. Plus, explore Molise’s beautiful beaches, majestic mountains, and ancient hillside villages through a variety of cultural, historical, and outdoor activities, as well as customized hands-on experiences. Florence embodies the Renaissance, which began in Tuscany during the 14th century and continued to influence the region and, ultimately, the world for 400 years. Now a bustling city filled with piazze, cafes, and museums, its culture is ideally suited for student life. As Florence welcomes hundreds of international students each year, students at the School in Italy are noteworthy for their commitment to cultural immersion. The program in Florence has three tracks of study: beginner, intermediate, and advanced level. Outside the classroom, the Language Pledge is exercised for maximum Italian exposure. Depending on language proficiency and track level, students may take courses at the Middlebury Sede in the heart of the city and study at one of our partner institutions: the Università degli Studi di Firenze or the Accademia di Belle Arti, where they have the opportunity to experience firsthand the life of Italian students. They also live in a homestay or an apartment with Italian roommates, which allows them access to the life of local families or peers.
