A flashpoint during the Cold War, the modern city is filled with ambition and future prospects seemingly coinciding with those of Europe as a whole. The enviable rival of Paris, Berlin is dripping with Prussian architecture that displays the might of the once-great European power, yet also embodies the qualities one can expect from a modern cosmopolitan center with music, fashion, and delicious restaurants on every corner, sporting local cuisine as well as international dishes from around the world.

Through site visits to refugee resettlement organizations and homestays in communities with refugee populations, learn about the importance of cultural and educational engagement for refugee integration.
