Spend your summer in the sunny, international resort city of Cannes, France, with AIFS Abroad! Earn up to 13 credits at the Campus International de Cannes. Courses are taught in English and French. Learn or perfect your French language skills with no previous French language study required. Live on campus in a student residence hall overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. You will share a double or triple room, with single rooms available for an additional fee. If you want to immerse yourself in the French language and culture, a homestay is also an option for housing. Homestay students receive breakfast daily and lunch Monday through Sunday on campus. In Nice, you will live in a modern student apartment, in the beautiful Old Port neighborhood, in the very heart of town. Every student chooses two classes as their academic focus: a major and an elective. The French major class meets every morning Monday to Friday while electives meet three afternoons a week. Electives include French Conversation, Photography, Sports, and Studio Art. Abbey Road provides three meals a day of high-quality food through a variety of venues. Enroll in a French language immersion course at a school in Antibes, France. Located in a charming and spacious chateau, surrounded by mature gardens, with a large outdoor terrace that offers beautiful views of the harbor and the Bay of Angels, the school is in a quiet residential area near the center of Antibes. Ideally located between Nice and Cannes, and only 13 kilometers from the Nice Cote d'Azur international airport, Antibes Juan-les-Pins ranks as the second largest town on the Cote d'Azur, after Nice and just ahead of Cannes. The town displays one of the prettiest coastal landscapes in France that meanders for about 25 kilometers. Beaches are located to the west of the old town, and just before the start of Cap d'Antibes, participants will find a long, sandy beach called La Salis, which gives a glorious view of the old town. At the heart of Antibes, students will discover the old town, with its market, Cours Massena, lined with restaurants and bars.

This 12-week Gap Year Semester Course is our most expansive and influential program. During the first six weeks, students travel to the UK and France, where they can explore art, architecture, food, culture, and much more. After this, they will travel to Tuscany and stay in Montepulciano, a beautiful hilltop town, for a two-week intensive Italian course. In the second six weeks, they will join other students to study on the Autumn Gap Year Course. They will travel across Italy, visiting Venice, Castelfranco, Bologna, Florence, Siena, and Rome, as well as taking day trips to San Gimignano, Verona, Naples, and Pompei. This program aims to give students the greatest experience of Italy and a better understanding of the "art world." It is an ambitious program that spread from the ancient world in Rome and Naples to the Renaissance in Florence and contemporary art in Venice. Students will learn about the works of Leonardo, appreciate Titian, and understand why Michelangelo is so significant. Students will also be introduced to dozens of other artists, read great poets from ancient and modern times, learn about rhetoric (Cicero), history, and literature, & appreciate architecture.
