I had a wonderful experience abroad. Roehampton University is located right outside the city of London, allowing students to experience slower everyday life while providing the fun city life of London. Beyond this, the town of Putney and Wimbledon are located very close to Roehampton, at a 45 minute walk or a 5 minute bus ride. After classes, I was able to choose between exploring local areas and the city of London. London has so much to offer, from food, culture, and more. While abroad, I was able to get cheap flights to other places such as Spain, and take a train ride to Scottland.

The Vogue College of Fashion Summer Program offers an immersive introduction to fashion media, blending editorial insight with hands-on experience in a way that feels both inspiring and practical. It’s a strong fit for students and early-career creatives looking to better understand how ideas come to life within the industry. A defining strength is its focus on intentional creativity. Students are consistently pushed to articulate the “why” behind their ideas, sharpening both creative thinking and communication skills while encouraging a more strategic, concept-driven approach. The program structure mirrors a real workday, balancing lectures with collaborative workshops, allowing participants to immediately apply what they’ve learned through styling, photography, and cultural exploration. I had an incredible experience at the Sotheby’s Summer Program in London. The four weeks were packed with engaging lectures led by professionals who truly know the industry, and I loved how hands-on it all felt. We weren’t just sitting in a classroom — we were out visiting galleries, museums, and seeing the art world up close. As someone who learns best through real experiences, I found that part especially valuable. As an Art History major, there aren’t many opportunities to explore the business side of the art world, so this program really filled that gap in my education and surpassed all expectations. I also met so many amazing people — many of whom I still keep in touch with months later. Overall, it was such a well-rounded, inspiring experience that I’d recommend to anyone interested in understanding both the academic and market sides of art.

I attended the Vogue College of Fashion - Fashion Business Program in July 2025, and it was one of the most inspiring experiences of my life. During the program, I had the chance to learn from experienced professionals in the industry, attend engaging talks and interviews, and visit British Vogue, the place where all the magic happens. I also had the opportunity to meet alumni of the Vogue College of Fashion and learn from their experiences and career paths. Hearing their stories helped me better understand the industry and strengthened my motivation to pursue a career in fashion. Living in London during the program added an entirely new dimension to the experience. The city itself became a constant source of inspiration. For instance, while working on a project centered around tennis, we were fortunate to be in London during the Wimbledon Championships finals, which brought our concept to life in a uniquely authentic and timely way. Beyond academics, the program allowed me to build meaningful international connections, and I am still in touch with friends from all over the world. I will always be grateful for this experience!

This program helped me realize that I possess the creativity and capability not only to envision a meaningful exhibition but also to bring people together to make it happen. No matter how intimidating the art world may be, I proved my willingness to adapt and take on the responsibility of leadership in this industry. Summer Program gave me a real sense of the art world and where I could fit in. My small hometown in Arkansas has very little artistic diversity or green organizations, so it was refreshing to be in a place that truly appreciates the arts and activism.

With the Institute’s honored reputation in the global art market, its direct link to the auction house, and strong industry connections, this program was an opportunity I could not miss. The integration of academic study with in-person learning offered direct exposure to a wide range of curatorial practices, deepening my professional understanding of the contemporary art world. I completed the Curator Academy course, where I engaged daily with leading industry professionals, translating insights into collaborative group practice during our project planning. This ensured I was not only learning but actively applying curatorial skills with guidance from industry experts.

I learned a lot about myself, what it takes to thrive in new environments and how to navigate new cities, achieve my dreams, and study in another country. This course helped me figure out what I want to do once I leave the classroom

In July 2025, I had the opportunity to attend the Vogue Summer School in London, and I can confidently say that it was one of the most inspiring experiences I’ve ever had. From the very first day, the program exceeded my expectations. The content was not only enriching, but also extremely relevant to the fashion and luxury industry. What made the experience even more exceptional was the quality of the people involved: the guest speakers and professionals invited for interviews and talks were incredibly interesting, offering valuable insights into the behind-the-scenes world of Vogue and the fashion industry. The teachers were also outstanding — passionate, professional, and always willing to share their expertise in a way that felt both motivating and accessible. Their guidance helped me gain a deeper understanding of the industry, while also encouraging me to think creatively and confidently. Beyond the academic side, what truly made this summer school unforgettable were the people I met. The connections and friendships created during this experience are priceless. I had a wonderful time on this trip! The opportunity to experience so many new cultures through art was great! Being in foreign countries with new people also created the perfect opportunity to create new friendships, especially since you're all in the same boat! Travel is a great way to build bonds. We also had plenty of time to explore on our own and enjoy the cities we were in!

Studying abroad with USAC made my experience in London a breeze. USAC offered a program that was ideal for me as it was during the summer for 3 weeks rather than a semester. Three weeks was the perfect length to explore London while offering enough time to study and focus on my class. USAC prepared me well for my time abroad and offered me the support I needed. USAC allowed me to connect with other students before depature making it easier to know everyone in the program before departing. Overall, the experience with USAC was fantastic and straightforward.

When I decided I wanted to go abroad, I was nervous about a lot of things. First off, I was scared that when I went abroad I would have to settle for a location I did not want to be in because I needed my credits to transfer over. Luckily AIFS had a program in a wonderful city with a bunch of classes that would transfer back to my home university super well. When I chose this program, I was overjoyed but nervous about living in a homestay. When I got there I was happily surprised to find that my host family was amazing and provided me with an experience I would not have been able to have if I had been in a dorm/apt. The people that I met in the program were some of the coolest people I have ever known and am happy to call them my friends to this day. If you are looking for a great program in Paris where you have the freedom to meet new people, travel, and find yourself in a new place, I would 100% recommend this to you!

The Vogue Summer School Fashion Media program was the most fun I've ever had at school! I attended in the summer of 2025 in London, coming from Canada. I couldn't find much information about this exact program beforehand, so I took a bit of a risk, but it was so worth it. My personal goal was to expand my skills specifically in the Journalism aspect of the fashion industry, and although Journalism specifically was a quick unit in the 4 week course, I learnt many skills that I know understand are very pertinent to the job. From touring Vogue offices, styling a model, communicating through moldboards, learning research techniques, and experiencing actual jobs, there was nothing unaccounted for in the vast industry. Some important things to know before attending are that the main assignment is a group project rather than individual, housing standards are lower than I'm used to in Canada (in my experience), and air conditioning is not a given. Overall I enjoyed my time immensely, and the city of London is truly unmatched!

I had such a great time at Lite Regal Education Summer School 2025 The Intensive English course really helped my English improve a lot in such a short time. I also met so many new friends from different countries everyone was super kind and friendly.

Upon receiving my acceptance to the IES Abroad program, I imagined what a summer living in London would present. I'd secretly hope to meet a London boy (cue the Taylor Swift song), make lifelong friendships, and cross off my London bucket list. Only 1/3 was accomplished. During my time, I experienced loneliness, homesickness, and a bit of regret. My summer didn't pan out exactly how I imagined it. However, for the days that felt endless, there were plenty more that I wish didn't have to end. I am grateful for the experience I embarked on. Although it was scary, I did it, and made it out with cute pics as evidence.

I would confidently recommend CIEE Study Abroad to a friend or peer because of the amount of support I received in CIEE. CIEE also offers programs that are not only academically enriching but also culturally immersive.

Studying in Barcelona had been a dream! I took classes in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation, and Spanish Art and Cultural Heritage at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. My 7 weeks in that paradise were filled with exploration, inspiration, and so much fun. From amazing people to the delicious cuisine, and stunning architecture to the colorful culture, Spain should be at the top of the must-visit countries list. My favorite activity, besides spending my day at the beach, was wandering around the city without a map and being amazed by the beauty hidden in every corner of Barcelona. Thanks to the Spanish Art and Cultural Heritage class, I learned even more about this impressive history and culture. CIS helped me through every step of adapting to studying and living in Barcelona. They planned fun events for us, such as various tours in famous parts of Barcelona, beach picnic and volleyball, wine tasting, tours to towns in Spain, and cooking classes. I stayed at Aparto Pallars, which is conveniently located near the metro station, from which you can take the metro anywhere. I'm so grateful for this experience, and I'm definitely willing to go back to Barcelona or any other program with CIS!

I chose AIFS Abroad because I wanted a program that combined strong academic support with cultural experiences. I joined the London program, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The pre-departure team guided me through each step, answering questions quickly and making me feel prepared before leaving. In London, the staff were welcoming and approachable, always checking in to make sure we were doing well. The housing was safe and well-located, which made daily life so much easier. I especially loved the excursions and cultural activities—they helped me explore London and other parts of the UK in ways I wouldn’t have managed on my own. What stood out most was the community I built. I met people who became close friends, and the experience gave me more independence and confidence. Professionally, I gained skills in adaptability and communication that I know will help me in the future. I’d recommend AIFS Abroad to anyone looking for a program that balances academics, culture, and support in a truly meaningful way.

Before my study abroad journey, I was filled with excitement, mostly about the idea of being in a new country and soaking in a different culture. I had high hopes, but honestly, both London and the IES Abroad program exceeded every expectation I had. Of course, I got to experience all the iconic London attractions you dream about: the London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace—every postcard landmark was just as magical in real life. But what really surprised me was how much more there was beyond the tourist side. One of the most unforgettable experiences was a trip organised by IES to the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It’s not a place I would’ve ever put on my personal travel itinerary, but it ended up being one of the highlights of my entire time abroad. That trip showed me a completely different side of the UK, natural, historical, and deeply beautiful. While most people think of study abroad as all about travel and adventure (which it definitely is), I have to highlight how incredible the academic side was, too. The classes were intellectually engaging, and the professors brought a whole new perspective to learning. What I loved most was how they incorporated the city and our experiences into the classroom. We went to art galleries, had community volunteering placements, and brought real-life news to discuss in class that made learning feel holistic and alive. If I had the chance, I would absolutely do it all over again.

My time in London completely changed my life. I felt like I was truly free and on my own for the first time, and I was able to make my own decisions about what I did and where I went. My friends I made were amazing and I was able to get super immersed into the community. My class work was interesting, but left time for me to explore the city after class. I wish I could go back!

My daughter, Calista (16) from Cyprus, attended Lite Regal’s 3-week Medical School Preparation program in Cambridge, and it was an unforgettable experience! The 2-week Medical Taster Course covered anatomy, clinical skills, and medical ethics, with expert tutors who made learning engaging. The highlight was the 1-week hospital shadowing in a London hospital, where she observed real doctors and gained hands-on insight into the medical field. She stayed in Hughes Hall College, Cambridge, in a comfortable en-suite room, which made her experience even more enjoyable. Outside of lessons, she loved exploring Cambridge, punting on the River Cam, attending social events, and going on weekend trips. The program was well-organized, inspiring, and gave her a real taste of medical school life. Highly recommended for any aspiring doctor!
