Program Overview

Spend a summer studying and traveling through 3 fabulous European cities with the AIFS Abroad Western European Cinema study and travel program! You’ll spend 9 nights in London, 6 nights in Paris, and 5 nights in Rome.

Europe is both the place where cinema began and a world leader in the film industry in the 21st century. You will examine the development of film and approaches to filmmaking across Western Europe as you earn 3 credits through Fairfield University. This course is taught in English.

Cultural and social activities may include:
• Walking tour of Alfred Hitchcock’s London
• Visit to the British Film Institute
• Full-day visit to Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studios
• Visit to the Bond in Motion exhibit and walking tour of James Bond film locations
• Film viewing at Regent Street Cinema
• Visit to the La Cinémathèque Français
• Visit to Versailles
• Walking tour of Rome film locations
• Visit to the Colosseum

It was the best experience I could have asked for!

I absolutely loved studying abroad with AIFs. Our tour manager Edu was the greatest- he was so personable and ensured that we always felt comfortable talking to him or reaching out if something was wrong. He was always with us and made our experience more personal. As for the program, I was so grateful to travel to three countries AND for our locations to always be in amazing spots of the city! Everywhere we stayed was beautiful. I loved all of our excursions as well! Overall a really really great trip.
