Life in London
February 26, 2014by: Marissa GuerreroI fell in love with the city during my research about it on the net. I'd like to take my chances in finding great opportunities in the city. I had a great time going to the theatre and museums, visiting the Buckingham Palace. It was an educational but exciting adventure for me.
An Experience that Changed My Life
July 16, 2014by: Alennah - St.PaulMy study abroad experience was incredible. Both the AIFS and Richmond's staff were incredibly helpful, accommodating, and always had a desire to make my time the best it could be. The academics were challenging and integrated well into my daily life. Living in Kensington was an absolute dream - the area is beautiful, the shopping and dining are awesome, and the neighbors/people are lovely. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
The advisers were helpful, and most of all caring.
July 18, 2014by: Laura Lizbeth Marquez - United StatesAs someone who never traveled outside of the country, the AIFS program was a great way for me to gain experience traveling and immersing myself in another culture. Actually gaining entrance into the iTunes festival in Camden. Meeting my boyfriend and future best friend. Going to all the literary spots around London and the surrounding English cities. These are all my memorable experiences I gained! I chose this program because I love London (and England). From their fashion to their music, to their literature, it was the natural choice for me.

As a literature student, I’ve always been a big reader. As one of the literature capitals of the world and the setting to some of my favorite books, films and musical artists, I’d always wanted to visit London. However, there’s a difference between just visiting a place and living there. At only 20 years old, I wanted an experience that would make my life more exciting than the novels I read for once.

Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated by all things British, especially British popular culture. Meaning all things music, celebrities, and fashion. In 2013 I took a step to live my dream of visiting England by going on a trip with my High School's history department with ACIS (AIFS's sister company for high school programs) and went on a ten day tip throughout England. That sparked my interest to live there someday, so the next step was to study abroad in London, which I did four years after this trip in high school.
