The Prague program is ideal for students interested in studying and living in an extraordinary medieval city. Prague is an open textbook of modern and traditional literature, art, architecture, and culture enclosed in the beautiful scenery of the city, including its walls, castles, and frescoes. Learn the basics of the Czech language in a two-week intensive course offered at the beginning of each semester. It includes at least two one-day field trips and an optional one-credit Vienna and Budapest Field Study course. These are exceptional opportunities to discover the cultural and historical richness of Prague and Central Europe. You may also complete an internship, which provides an opportunity to practice your language skills and gain international professional experience. Choose to stay for an academic year and experience all four seasons that are typical in Central Europe—colorful autumns with harvest festivals, quiet winters with traditional customs and winter sports, fresh springs with blossoming flowers filling Prague’s parks, and warm summers with outdoor festivals. The summer program offers two 4-week sessions, which you can combine into an 8-week session.

Resting along the banks of the Vltava River, Prague has been the political, cultural, and economic hotspot of Eastern Europe for over 1000 years. With more than 1.2 million inhabitants in the city proper and a constant flow of international travelers, the Czech Republic’s bustling capital boasts global importance. Since 1992, Prague has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and for a good reason. The city is an unaltered, hands-on museum full of famous theaters and opera houses, open parks with political protest history, and centuries-old buildings converted into late-night discothèques. The galling years of communist rule linger in the minds of Czechs, and striking up a conversation on the subject brings out a history and culture lesson that could only be learned from the source itself. With our extensive offering of semester and summer study abroad programs in Prague, you will be able to find the best experience to fit your unique needs and interests.
