Best experience ever!

Going into college, I knew I wanted to study abroad no matter where in the world it was. Two years into my college career, I could not have been more thankful that I was given the opportunity to do so in Prague. The city itself is beautiful and has a wide variety of cultural experiences from its historical landmarks and local cafes. Right in the heart and center of Prague is The University of New York in Prague, which is where I attended school for my spring semester. Immediately upon arrival I felt welcomed from the students waiting at the airport to pick us up, along with orientation the very next day. UNYP provided multiple opportunities within the first week to meet new friends and familiar faces. Studying at a new school in a new country can be intimidating, but UNYP did the most to decrease those nerves. Throughout the semester, I was able to build relationships with my professors and learn about their stories; UNYP being a huge international school means students and professors come from all over the world which is super cool. I even met a professor who lived about an hour from me at home in the US! The atmosphere of the small school allowed me to feel comfortable and be friendly with my peers. Outside of UNYP, I had the opportunity to travel around Prague, as well as to many other countries around Europe. In total, I made it to about 12 different countries, from taking weekend trips to spending extra time in Europe even after my semester ended. I could share about my experience forever; my good memories and friends are never ending, but then we would be here for hours. Overall I had an incredible experience from the girls I was living with, getting lucky to spend my semester in the beautiful city of Prague, and having a great school like UNYP to provide a great education and further advance my studies in and out of the classroom. To anyone thinking about studying abroad especially at UNYP, do it!

Great uni in the greatest city

I loved my time at UNYP. The uni is not so big, so you easily meet new people and you will always know someone at an event or in the classroom. The uni is located in one of the most beautiful neughbourhoods in Prague, with many cafes and restaurants nearby. Plus the quality of education was very high, so I was very happy with my choice to go to UNYP. Would definitely recommend if you wanna meet new friends from all over the world and enjoy studying in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Once in a lifetime experience.

I wish everyone could experience studying abroad at UNYP, because it was filled with everything you could ask for. Between the people, teacher, administration and living within the city was all wonderful, truly made this process so much easier and better.

The housing and school were in an excellent location. I was part of the summer program so clubs were not really an option. I would have enjoyed if there were weekly (Wednesday night) local thing planned. I do see most of the town on my own but I think an optional weekly check in would be cool since its only five weeks. The first few days with all the info was a nice intro but that was pretty much all the info we got and were left to figure it out. Which is cool, but since social groups were limited, a weekly hang organized by the school for the first 2 weeks atleast would be helpful if you dont get along with your roommates.

Time You Want To Spend

I was skeptical of doing this program at first. I did not want to do all of the this work and have it not meet my expectations. I thought, how good could a month in Prague really be? Spectacular, and better than anything I could have imagined, that is the answer. I truly push anybody who is thinking about doing study abroad to just take the leap. You will not regret your time and, if somehow you do, you will not leave without having learned some things. The people at UNYP (University of New York In Prague) were excellent at inviting us into their country and giving us advice. We learned how the transportation worked, customs of the locals, activities to embark on, etc. However, they also allowed us to primarily just do our own thing. They were always there for support if you needed. One of my friends on the trip had a weird sickness arise in the first few days. One of the student managers personally took her to multiple clinics and they even became friends. Additionally, classes were not too difficult if you just showed up so there was plenty of time to do anything you wanted to do. Just do the trip. Seriously, Prague is the most beautiful city I have ever been too. I do not regret a second I spent there.

I had the most incredible time studying abroad at UNYP. During my trip I was able to meet new people, both in the program and around the UNYP campus, learn new things, in my courses and from cultural experiences, and travel throughout the Czech Republic and its neighboring countries. I was also fortunate enough to get to know the amazing staff at the Center for Global Engagement, each of whom were always willing to help students with any questions or concerns about daily life, culture, travel, classes, or emergency situations. I wouldn't trade this trip for the world!

I absolutely loved studying abroad at UNYP. The school was extremely helpful in setting up housing and roommates. They also had a preplanned orientation program that got you to know the students, culture, and city of Prague. They had a wide range of student activities and clubs to choose from and were helpful when picking your classes. Overall, it was a great experience!

Studying abroad at the University of New York in Prague this past semester was one of my greatest experiences as a college student so far. Everything about my time in Prague was great: classes, housing, community, safety, opportunities to travel, and more. I would have a hard time trying to think of anything I didn't like about my time as a student in Prague, and I would absolutely recommend UNYP to other students.

I loved this program. The campus is in the middle of Prague and close to everything. Professors are understanding and personable which made my experience memorable. We also had a lot of free time for trips to other countries during the weekend. Such a great program!

Out of all the study abroad experiences I have heard about from my friends, my experience in Prague was high up on the list. Everything pre departure was so helpful and the way that school was layed out allowed me to experience Prague, Czechia, and travel whenever wherever I wanted to.

The study abroad program was definitely an experience. The living situation was great and the world of beer course was great. But the pre departure steps leading up need better communication. Please work on that for future semesters

What an experience!

UNYP has a completely new campus in the center of Prague and new high end student residences just 100 meters from the campus! The UNYP Student Council is incredibly active and organizes during the semesters parties, trips and other activities for all students. Additionally, UNYP launched its full service Study Abroad program for visiting students that include transportation, integration and accommodation services as well as tuition in a single price!

I love Prague

The biggest area I felt i had trouble with was immersion into the culture and having an active social life while abroad. My program consisted of students from my U.S. school living together, taking classes together taught by a professor that came there with us. I would have loved to have met more students from UNYP. Perhaps if UNYP in conjunction with study abroad programs could host events or provide opportunities that could encourage more overlap I would've felt that I met more people in Prague. Everyone at UNYP speaks english, meaning communication and activities would be easy to coordinate. We just didn't have much opportunity to meet or interact with other UNYP students because our program was a bit closed off beyond using the UNYP facilities.

I was drawn to studying abroad because I wanted to experience a completely different culture and see more of Europe beyond Spain. I’ve always been fascinated by Central Europe, especially Prague, with its mix of history, culture, and vibrant student life. Studying at the University of New York in Prague also sounded like an incredible opportunity to meet people from all over the world and study English, which is so important these days. Plus, I knew it would be a challenge that would help me grow and become more independent.
