Participate in a medical project for Pharmacy students and start building a career in this field. Plus, gain an eye-opening insight into the healthcare system of a developing country. Completing an elective program in Ghana with OGVO helps you acquire valuable practical experience through a placement within a hospital pharmacy, under the supervision of a professional pharmacy manager. At the same time, share your skills and knowledge in communities that are largely underdeveloped and low on resources through contribution to an outreach program. In Ghana, health care is often limited by lack of funding, outdated facilities, and shortage of staff. Contribute directly to the improvement of community health care (where you are placed) and to a healthier life in general. During your placement, a qualified supervisor will help you become accustomed to your specific pharmaceutical practice. You will observe daily pharmaceutical care services provided by local medical staff, and assist where required. You will also go on outreach projects into outlying communities to provide basic medical services to small villages often without health care assistance.
