Middle Years Programme at Hanoi International School

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) at Hanoi International School (HIS) caters to students in grades 6 through 10, providing a robust educational framework designed for those aged 11 to 16. HIS received full authorization to deliver the MYP in 2017, bridging the learning gap between the Primary Years Programme and the Diploma Programme. This program is set in Hanoi, Vietnam, and offers an enriching environment that supports rapid physical and mental development during these critical years. The MYP at HIS emphasizes contextual, conceptual, and inquiry-based learning, encouraging students to develop lifelong skills for global success. The curriculum includes courses in eight key areas: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, Arts, Physical and Health Education, and Design. Assessments are internally developed by teachers and are criterion-related, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of student progress. The program culminates in a personal project, allowing students to explore their interests deeply and apply their acquired knowledge and skills.
