Best Volunteer Programs in Zimbabwe

Between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers, Zimbabwe is renowned for its great natural beauty. Go, see one of the world's biggest and most spectacular waterfalls, Victoria Falls, or why not explore the savannah or the mountainous Eastern Highlands? Zimbabwe has unique, ruined ancient cities, making it an interesting destination. However, poverty, hunger, deforestation, and poaching are big challenges facing the country. Thus, there is a real need for volunteers like you to work on various projects. These projects require different skills and abilities. General requirements include the following: - At least 18 years old for most of the volunteer projects. When in doubt, we advise you to contact the local project manager. - You should have an intermediate level of English skills; some projects also require advanced proficiency. - Depending on the project you're interested in, you might need to provide a criminal background check and a health declaration before volunteering.

Volunteer with Horses, Antelope Park

Our Horse Volunteering project is dedicated to the sustainable development of Antelope Park. As a volunteer, you’ll gain a unique experience by assisting in the daily management of an authentic African stable. This is your opportunity to discover the African bush from horseback as well. You’ll be involved with all aspects of the stables, from the daily maintenance of stables grounds to ensuring our horses are fit and healthy. Your opportunities span from taking that epic photo with an incredible giraffe whilst exploring the bush to experiencing the beauty of an African sunrise, all the while developing your show-jumping skills on the cross-country course and swimming on horseback. Antelope Park stables offer horse safaris, horse swims, polocrosse lessons, schooling lessons and training, sunrise and sunset rides, show-jumping, and carriage safaris. The reserve is proud to have two world-class fields and a practice field. They welcome everyone, from beginner to advanced riders, there is something on offer for all! All you need is a passion for horses and a desire to see the very best of Africa.

Program: Volunteer with Horses, Antelope Park

I truly had the time of my life at Antelope Park. From the beginning I knew this would be an experience I would never forget, and it turned out to be even better than I imagined. The staff were an absolute delight to work with, the volunteers were the most vibrant group of people I’ve ever been around, and the wildlife and horses were breathtaking. I don’t know any other place quite like Antelope Park. I would recommend it to anyone looking for adventure and one hell of a time :))
