I did the compilation project of Wildlife and stables and it was amazing! There we so many activities and communities to choose from and I meet so many people along the way, making plenty of life long friends

The whole idea of volunteering with animals right outside your room was amazing! The property was huge and beautiful. The food was delicious (especially surprising for us because we were vegetarians). The staff and volunteers made the whole experience even better. 0 complaints! I would really go back if I had the chance to!

My experience at Antelope Park was nothing short of amazing. I was able to engage in various projects, meet wonderful people, and learn so much about the African culture and about myself as well. I enjoyed every minute of my stay there and cannot wait to come back soon!

I had the greatest time of my life! I have travelled a lot and never experienced a place that makes my heart feel fuller or been happier than AP! The staff the place the animals everything is incredible! I met the most amazing people and contributing to the program was an experience I will cherish for life!

Visiting Antelope Park was truly an experience that I’ll never forget. Coming from Canada I wanted to see some nature and wildlife that may not be visible from where I live and I was amazed by the beauty of the park, definitely a once in a lifetime experience. What made it even more special was the warmth and dedication of the staff. Everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcome and cared for. Although it is nerve-wracking going to a new place with people you don’t know, I felt like I was at home within the first day of arriving. I was on the wildlife program and Jono was not only incredibly knowledgeable about wildlife but also had a great sense of humour that kept the energy high and the group engaged. Whether he was sharing stories, teaching us something new, or just cracking a well-timed joke, he made every day fun and memorable. His enthusiasm for the animals and the work being done at the park was contagious, and it made the whole experience that much more rewarding. Pip, who was also absolutely wonderful — so organized, approachable, and genuinely kind. Her passion for the park and the people in it really showed, and her presence made a huge difference in making my stay smooth. Antelope Park isn’t just a place to visit — it’s a place that stays with you with memories that will last a lifetime. I’m so grateful for the experience.

My two weeks at Antelope Park did not disappoint. The staff, volunteers and experiences, particularly the close encounters with wildlife far surpassed my expectations! It was an incredible experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

The wild life program at Antelope park was amazing in every way. I have been lucky enough to experience many incredible things around the world And nothing compares to Antelope Parks wild life program. There is no experience like it. From feeding elephants with my hands, Watching lions eat from 1 metre away, from spending time with a lion cub, Interactions with zebras, giraffes, rhinos and monkeys, you name it AP has it. Johnathan, Katie and Malcolm along with the rest of the staff at AP was super welcoming from the very start. They make it very clear from the start that antelope park is one big family with the same goal, to help, learn and experience as much as possible with the most incredible animals in the world. The food at the camp was 5 star! And the accommodation rooms were very very comfortable. From the second at arriving at the airport I was greeted with a sign and a big smile, that made me instantly feel safe and in good hands. The whole journey over I was so excited for what the next weeks would bring! All I can say is WOW! Every second was incredible! Ever since I was very young (I’m talking about 3 ish) I always wanted to work with African wildlife, especially the lions!! And my time at Antelope park has made that dream come true, so THANK YOU!! From my whole heart! Honestly being on the wildlife project didn’t feel like real life, I felt like I was in this bubble! I was beyond happy and loved every moment! The wildlife project it’s self was SO fun, no day was the same! Our leader Noxy was the best!! Beyond lovely and made the experience more special!! Every day was action packed, providing care for the most incredible animals! You work so closely along side them, especially the lions, elephants and the rhino’s you learn their personalities and now that’s so special!! I feel so lucky to know these incredible animals and how they behave! We would also always see the other animals too such as zebras, giraffes, impalas and many more! These guys were equally incredible and was so exciting every time we would see them, especially doing a game feed as they would be SO close! Gosh they are all just so beautiful. Everyone around the park is incredibly friendly and always makes sure to wave and say hello! It really does feel like one big happy family, that I feel so lucky to be a part of! I have made such lovely friends along the way too! It’s so nice to have communal areas for us to chill out in all together! The accommodation was kept clean and the lovely ladies would change our beds too (I haven’t experienced this much when volunteering, so was a nice little surprise)! There was a free laundry service, which may I add was SO quick, I had some items come back the same day!!! We also had free wifi, so we could keep in contact with everyone at home and tell them about our adventures!! All meals were provided too! Breakfast, lunch and dinner! It was always so nice to sit with all the other volunteers and catch up with everyone on other projects over a yummy meal! There was also a little coffee shop, ( with the worlds BEST milkshakes!!!) that served food If you fancied something different at a very low price! I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone at Antelope park, you all have all made my trip a memory I’ll never forget! It’s been perfect, honestly my biggest dream come true!! All I can say is if you are ever considering coming, please just book the trip!! You won’t regret it I promise!! This isn’t a goodbye, it will be a see you soon! Big hugs! It was amazing experience. Everyone were so nice and friendly to me..... always smiling. Big thanks to Zenzo, Vusa, Nox, Courtney and William for everything!!! Here I met amazing volunteers all around the world. It was fun to share 16 days full with amazing activities with them. I was volunteer in wild life program and it was very exciting to see lions, elephants, rhinos, giraffes and etc so close to me. To take care for this animals was dream come true for me. My journey was just perfect! Everything was very well organised, the staff is so friendly and polite. I experienced so many thing for first time in my life. I saw there so many animals and had learned so many new facts about their life behaviour. Oh my they have like 56 lions! I really recommend this place and I want to say THANK YOU again to the staff there and all my new friends from there. ❤️?

I came for my AHEMS veterinary medicine placement and it was amazing. I got to interact with wildlife I would never be able to in the UK. The volunteering programme is ran so well! I met amazing people and was able to do great excursions. I wish I could have stayed longer, I did not want to leave at all. The food we got there was great. We were able to get our clothes washed and the shower facility was really good. Would love to return.

A chance to do something completely opposite of everyday life. The staff is loveable and makes boring tasks funny, the entire trip is well organized and the weekends are a nice contrast to the busy week. I especially appreciated how knowledgeable some of the staff are when it comes to everything nature related.

From the very first moment I arrived antelope park I felt so welcome and safe by the volunteer manager and people in the park. It was incredible getting so close to the animals, getting to know them, watch them in the wild, learn about them and walk with them. During my four weeks I got to spend time with some amazing volunteers from all over the world, and I've gotten friends for life. The people, the project, the food, the facilities, the excursions and overall the whole experience was just amazing, and a month I will remember for the rest of my life.

At Antelope Park I experienced many pinch-me moments, most notably my daily walks with the Elephants, introducing enrichment ideas to the lions, swimming with the horses and riding close to wild Zebra and Impala in the park. The park is stunning, the facilities and accommodation are all fantastic. The staff are all welcoming, friendly and eager to help. I couldn’t fault a thing! The excursions available are varied and culturally enriching. I went rhino tracking in Matopos National Park with a tracking expert. All in all, what an experience!

My stay has been a very valuable experience. Enjoyed every minute. Everything went smoothly after arriving in Harrare. I value wildlife very much and felt like i needed to experience it first hand. This was provided in a great fashion. The employees at the park is very welcoming and nice to talk to. You also have the opportunity to try different activities, which is great.

As a considerably "less youthful" volunteer, I naturally had some trepidation about signing up for a month at Antelope Park. My concerns were completely unfounded. I was quickly welcomed into the Antelope Park family of staff and volunteers and made to feel right at home. I experienced so many amazing adventures and I leave a truly changed person forever with Antelope Park and Africa in my heart forever. In addition to being encouraged to try new things, including delicious African foods and encounters of all kind, I had the pleasure of meeting warm, caring, fun people with "Great Big African" hearts. Thank you all for this life altering experience and for your commitment to the love, care and prosperity of all the creatures and communities which make Africa great. Tatenda!

Overall I have enjoyed my time at Antelope Park, the Lion and Elephant handlers have been so friendly, kind, clear and shared there experiences with me. I really enjoyed the vulture count, snake handling and elephant feeding! I do feel they're too many lions here that need more enrichment and that they were bred for the purpose of 'walking with the lions' without a more detailed plan of there lives after and how to enrich them especially since they can't be released. I think there welfare is taken care of but there could be more to enrich them, I did bring this up with a few different people and was informed that they have seized breeding which is the right thing so that was comforting. I really enjoyed a lot of experiences and activities but there were days I was the only wildlife vol and therefore spent a few hours either coming back early or waiting at the tent as there wasn't further plans for after the scheduled jobs were complete. I would have liked to of done more game drive activties and wildlife counts if I had more time here. I would recommend Antelope Park to visit for zoological experience however I feel there could be more wildlife activites.

I had really great time with great people. From the first day until the last I enjoied staying at the Antelop park. The staff is great and always helfull when you need. I am so happy to see them again in the future.

This was my second time joining Antelope Park to volunteer, that itself is proof that this is a great experience and something I wanted to keep supporting! The two volunteering periods have been very different, this one being during a pandemic and the number of volunteers has been very low. But I can assure you that it doesn't matter if you're alone on project or of you're here with forty other volunteers, I've loved these periods equally as much! The staff here is amazing and I feel so welcome, appreciated and seen. Everyone is always doing everything they can to make sure you are enjoying your stay here. (You can even get the chance to learn some new languages, they'll be happy to teach you!) I had been longing to come back to Antelope Park for four years, and it was worth every second of waiting!

I visited Antelope Park to volunteer on the Wildlife Management Programme for only one week; which was far too short! The team at the park, from administration, guides, kitchen staff, cafe staff, groundskeepers, carpenters - EVERYONE were so welcoming, friendly, helpful and pure. I had the pleasure of interacting with as many long term staff members as possible as well as some of the team who had recently joined. Regardless of how long they have been here their knowledge was so comprehensive and they were so happy to share it with me; no such thing as a silly question at AP! In terms of the work and experience undertaken I covered so much in my short time, and the team were so happy to try and meet my requests and have me experience as much as possible; from foraging for and feeding the elephants, then cleaning up the after-mess, cleaning, feeding and wellbeing checks for the lions, interacting with the reptiles, driving through the pastures of free roaming kudas, impalas, wildebeasts, giraffes, zebras, guinea foul, vultures and Maribou storks, helping out in the stables, riding the horses, building fencing, sawing, digging, bush walks, talks and everything in between. I can't wait to come back and help out some more, and get to experience more of what AP are all about.

My time here has been nothing short of amazing. The days are filled with multiple opportunities to interact with the wildlife and get a good understanding of the behind the scenes of running a conservation park. There were only a couple rough days (personally, I am not as tolerable about the heat, but they immediately worked with me on that to help me out) out of the entire month I was here, but that's expected. The employees are kind, and treat the volunteers as part of a family, and are willing to work with you to sort out the best itinerary possible. I'd recommend bringing lots of change and having an open mind--you never know what will happen. Flexibility is key, and the wifi gave us a couple problems, but they were fixed quickly and the staff was incredibly helpful. The other volunteers were awesome, and it was very nice to have the evenings to be able to relax and have some personal time (especially after a hot day). Overall, I would recommend this program to any friend or family that asks about it-my only warning would be to come in with a volunteer headspace instead of a 'vacation' headspace since there is a lot of work that gets done. I'm glad I came, went on some amazing excursions, and got a real taste of wildlife care while I was here. The only thing I wouldn't recommend as far as the wildlife program goes would be for a medicine or vet student (there wasn't too much on the biology education side) but it was a great learning experience. Thank you Antelope Park! I will be back (hopefully sooner rather than later) :)

Coming here I didn't have any experience in volunteer work at all or going on a journey on my own for that matter, so you could say that I was quite nervous about it. You read these amazing stories about others that have been there, telling you that "It is the best thing they've ever done" and "That it was such a life changing experience", and you wonder if and how much of this will apply to you. So, you are now reading this review just as I did with others a couple of weeks ago and I am going to say the exact same thing: It really ís one of the best things I've ever done and it really hás been a life changer for me. The Antelope Park is very well organized, and they will do everything in their power to help and support you in any way they can. Especially Rosine, the volunteer and community’s manager, made sure that I had the time of my life and that I got to make the trips that I really wanted! All the staff with whom I had the pleasure of meeting and working with are also such nice and amazing people. They really made me, and the other volunteer’s part of the big and warm AP family and I want to thank every single one for that! Besides working with these lovely people, I also got the chance to work and interact with the incredible African Wildlife that I adore so much. During your stay it feels like you are on a nonstop safari! Herding the Elephants was jaw-droppingly amazing and one of my favorite activities next to the lion hunt and watching the lion feed!! This experience has brought me so much. Aside from the extra set of laugh lines (I just couldn't stop smiling), I also learned a lot about myself as a person and for that I am forever grateful.

Volunteering Antelope Park has been one of the most enlightening experiences of my life, from being able to distinct important plants for survival in the wild, to being able to track and distinguish different types of animals by age and gender, Antelope Park guides are some of the most kind, intelligent, and hardworking people I have ever met. Regardless of whether you want to pursure an animal related career, you will have many opportunities to safely interact with animals such as horses and elephants. Antelope Park has been extremely welcoming and accomadating operation, that makes sure you priotritize both your and the animals best interests. This is a great opportunity to experience unique activities that you would otherwise rarely get to partake in other places of the world. Truly some of the most exciting weeks of my life. I will dearly miss my new family at Antelope park.

This is a first-class operation that provided a first-class experience for my daughter and me. It is instructive, enjoyable, safe, and valuable. It is clear that there is an organized, yet flexible plan in place so that volunteers derive optimal benefit and enjoyment from their stay at the Antelope Park. I would definitely consider returning for a second experience in the future.

I spent 2 weeks at AP and had such a wonderful time. It is a rarity that you get to interact with the animals as much as we did and to the extent that we did. You get down and dirty with the animals and have an opportunities of a lifetime. They also have such genuine people as well which you cannot find in all countries in Africa. They are so open and want to get to know you and your culture/history/traditions. The program coordination was very hands on and they really try to give you all the opportunities they can for your trip - I was able to go on a few day trips and they also have experiences that are at the reserve as well as outside (ex: polocrosse lesson).

My stay at AP was wonderful! Best was the interaction with the elephants and really every time spent with them! Staff and animal handlers were very nice, food was amazing (vegetarian) and had such a nice time with the other volunteers.

This was my second time at AP and the 2 weeks I stayed there were great, I met old friends again and got to see how the park had improved since my last visit. Unfortunately my trip was cut short due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

I´m so glad I did this! I have learned so much about myself, about my life and others life. I feel blessed to have worked so close with African animals, and to know that I have done something to help. I have met a lot of amazing people!

Our stay at Antelope Park has been great! We have been here for four weeks now, and it's been four weeks with a lot of fun and new experiences. We learned a lot about African animals and culture. It has been fun to work with the people here, we really liked to work together with the locals and get to know them. Outside of work it's been a lot of social gatherings, which has made the stay even better. It was great to get to know other volunteers from all over the world. We've had movie nights, carriage rides, tanning by the pool, nights at the bar and trips to the closest town, Gweru. Another great thing about AP is that you easily can try other projects than the one you assigned for! For example, we were on the lion project, but tried both the Community project and the Stables project. The Community project is a project we would recommend to try, as it was very educational and fun. We really enjoyed our stay, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone!

I had a wonderful time in Antelope park, the activity i loved the most was behavior enrichment. We just make a toy out of elephant poop and hay and hang it in the enclosure of the Lions. The Lions play with it.

Overall my experience at AP was once in a lifetime. My only complaint is that I think some of the marketing was misleading and the pre-departure advice could have been better. Three weeks felt like the perfect amount of time to experience what AP has to offer. The time spent here was worth the expense.

My time at Antelope Park has truly been one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The people you get to meet, volunteers and staff, the close encounters with the animals, the living situations, the food and the many many things you get to experience... just everything has been so surreal and amazing! I would gladly come back and do it all over again!

Coming to Antelope Park as a returning volunteer, I already had a pretty good idea of what to expect during my time here. I was afraid my second time wouldn't be as exciting or meaningful as the first time, but my fears immediately vanished the second I arrived back at the park and saw how excited everyone was to see me again. The elephants were just as magnificent as I remembered them to be and getting to walk with them again was an incredible feeling. While I was sad that I was unable to walk with the lion cubs this time around, it was really cool to be able to see them advance to the next step of the rehabilitation program and to accompany them on day encounters. Antelope Park means a lot to me and truly feels to me like my second home. I already can't wait to come back for my third time!

It was amazing to see lions up close and a rare opportunity to be able to look after and bond with elephants. I was on the lion project but still had the opportunity to work at the stables for a few days and learn horse riding. This flexibility is available throughout the projects allowing you to experience even more.

I'm so happy I did this trip! Even if it was very expensive it was a journey for life and I recommend everyone who thinks about it to stop thinking and just do it. The best thing was the nice and gentle staff at AP, they were so service minded and make me feel being with friends.

From the beginning, being a 22 year old female, travelling alone to a country that has mixed reputations throughout the years, I was nervous and my family was worried for me. Arriving into Zimbabwe, everyone was so friendly and welcoming, I felt completely at ease and comfortable already. The travel from Harare to antelope park was long, but meeting some incredible new people (friends for life) on the journey was amazing, we got to know one another very quickly and was amazing, the views was breathtaking. Arriving into the park, down a bumpy road to then be greeted by a wonderful, happy, Suus (project manager), we was shown to our rooms and although they are basic it was very comfortable. Meeting the lions and elephants are truly an unforgettable experience and being so close to them is amazing, you cannot get that close anywhere else! All the staff and handlers and kitchen team was so friendly and always asked how you are and say morning, always put a smile on your face. They are very thankful for the help you provide alongside them. Although the days can be hard, I went at the beginning of the hottest month of the year (October) so the heat was unbearable at times but evenings lounging by the pool and weekends off made it seem so much better! Really would love to spend more time out there and come back again, honestly best experience I've ever done and will have memories to last a lifetime! Thank you Antalope Park

From the moment I embarked my plane and was welcomed by two smiley volunteer hosts I knew I had made the right decision. The trip just got better and better from then on. I experienced sights, research, challenges, friendships and growth I never would have even dreamed of. From going to sleep in tents complete with lullaby’s or lion roars to meeting some of the sweetest villagers and their families to teaching conservation classes to local primary school children to taking 9 month old lion cubs for a walk, this trip had it all covered. Not to mention the team at ALERT, who fed me food better than my mum does (sorry mum) and became my little Zim family, what a crew! I built friendships that I’ll never forget and pushed myself way outside my comfort zone. I couldn’t be more happier with my volunteer experience. My cup is a lot fuller since and I am so grateful!

I being a single female travelling alone was scared to go so far after all everyone was telling me such bad things about the country but can definitely say there wasn't a thing I could complain about, arriving in Zimbabwe was wonderful, everyone was so friendly and felt very welcome. The experience of working with lions and elephants was amazing and once in a life time opportunity, being so close to these majestic creatures was just wonderful and I will have those memories to cherish forever. Would really recommend anyone to go Antelope Park, Zimbabwe.

This year was my second time as a volunteer in Antelope Park. Two years ago I decided to join the project and those 2 weeks became the best weeks of my life, so this year I decided to go back. I was a little bit scared because I had high expectations and I was afraid that they weren’t going to be fulfilled. Now I’m back home and I miss AP like crazy, I can only say (once again) THE best time of my life...

I had a wonderful time! I enjoyed the variety of day to day activities involved in looking after the lions, the quality of the food, and the kindness of staff, lion and elephant handlers and volunteer manager, Suus.

Ive spent the last three months volunteering at Antelope park. I can honestly say being there it became my home and the people there became my family. I completely loved the lions and the work i did to help their future. The amenities were better than expected and well desirable for being in the African bush. I enjoyed all of my time and plentiful experiences and will definitely return.

Everything about Antelope Park is amazing! The projects, accommodations, staff members, and food all exceeded my expectations. I was there for 3 months, but that was not nearly enough time for me, so the first thing I'm doing when I get home is booking my next trip back. The staff members make you feel like family and the friendships you make feel like they will definitely last a lifetime.

Antelope Park was the first place that I have volunteered in. Being at AP was such an amazing experience all of the staff are friendly and inviting. Working with lions was a dream come true and I will definitely return to AP.

Two weeks was not long enough! Everyone here, both staff and volunteers, were so lovely and always willing to talk to you! The program itself was incredible. Being able to work up close with the lions is an experience I will never forget! Already planning my trip back!

I really like the project because we have a lot of different activities and the staff are so nice. This is my second time here and i wanna go back again. One thing that is amazing is that we can join other projects as well.

I've now spent 3 weeks at AP and I'm really happy that I decided to come here. I was surprised by the many options of different excursions and I went to as many as I could! I found the lion walks really interesting but I felt sad that the outlook on the possibility to release some of the 92 lions were bad.

I had a fantastic two weeks on the stables volunteer programme and wish I could have stayed longer! Although I had joined the stables programme I was given the opportunity to join the lions and community volunteer projects which are also fantastic. The stables project really allowed you to get involved in a wide variety of riding activities (polocross, safari's, cross country, showjumping and schooling).

I was only able to spend 15 days at Antelope Park due to work commitments but what an amazing experience. As someone that works in animal conservation in England I had some background but nothing as hands on with big cats and elephants at AP. I am very grateful for my time here and experience for my CV! The Hands on Lion Project was everything I hoped for along side the elephant handling, the staff from the local village were incredible in particular Makie, Boogane and Colin - so hard working. I loved the flexibility of changing projects as my day on stables was fantastic, the care for the animals is amazing. I was also over the moon with food available for me as I’m vegetarian and I expected chips for 2 weeks but was given so much selection. I would also like to point out you have no time to be bored as they days are packed full and well structured. The only pieces of construct criticism I could offer are that then rooms could of been cleaner & when guests are on lion walks they can be very rude to volunteers and staff, volunteers are also pushed to the back of the group

As much as I enjoyed the people and my overall experience in Zimbabwe, I do not feel like I made an impact on lion conservation which is why I would not recommend this specific program to prospective volunteers.

If you enter into this program with an open mind and open heart this place certainly has the capacity to change your worldview (in a very positive manner) and trigger a myriad of thoughts concerning personal introspective which will likely humble you while increasing your respect for an incredible variety of wildlife. From lions and elephants to birds and monkeys, your interactions with organisms that you've likely only seen in a zoo or on TV, (or if you're old enough; in your favourite edition of zoobooks), CAN really change you if you've been born and raised in the modern technological 1st world of never ending online "connection"..... I put emphasis on *can* because this place will not inspire a magical feeling just because you're here, you must bring the right mindset with you, you must be ready to get dirty, work hard, and push outside your comfort zones on a daily basis. The lion and elephant interactions are wild (pun intended) and of course have a huge cool factor, and incredibly unique..... but the community projects will be the things that most substantially impact you because you will meet some of the most amazing people and children who are so kind and grateful even when they have so little. I can go on and on, but the only way to appreciate this place is to see it yourself and experience all the wonderful interactions this place can offer. Don't be fooled by people who try to downplay the impact and goals Antelope Park is working towards, they haven't been here and cannot possibly understand the breadth of impact this facility is striving for. Do not make any judgments until you see and experience it yourself

I've had a really nice stay at Antelope Park. It was absolutely fantastic to be so close to the animals, and very interesting to be able to be part of the day to day life in the park. It was hard physical work, but it was fun! The only thing that was a little annoying, was that some of the volunteers didn't do what they were supposed to or broke the rules. However, this was addressed after a while.

Antelope Park was my second volunteer project on this trip through African Impact, and I'm so glad I saved this one for last!! I went because of the unique experience working with the lions and elephants in the conservancy effort. And that experience exceeding even my greatest expectations. But what really made this an amazing & unforgettable experience was the staff at Antelope Park. First, the volunteer manager, Suus Tijoe, was outstanding. She managed over 30 volunteers across multiple projects and tons of activities, and she did it with a smile and unbelievable patience :). Honestly, even when volunteers were being demanding and throwing last minute changes at her, she was calm and patient and just worked it out. And the local staff of Zimbabweans were so warm, welcoming, friendly and always helpful just made the experience so special. Every single person, from the kitchen/dining staff to the handlers for the lions and elephants to the housekeepers and laundry staff, were SO accommodating. And the stable team was fantastic and flexible and made sure we all had a fantastic time. So many times we all said often to each other that every one - particularly Suus and the handlers and the stable team - went out of their way to make sure we got to do/experience everything we wanted to. Their patience with us for endless photos was endless :). And I loved that there were so many volunteers in all of the programs, from Community to Stables to Lions/Elephants. AND we were all able to experience working on the other projects during our stay, which was fantastic. This is an experience you'll love and never forget. You'll make lifelong friends and hate to leave because they care about you so much it feels like family And you'll definitely plan to go back, as I'm doing right now!

Antelope Park is by far the best volunteer placement I have been on, so good that I returned again. Having preciously been to Fiji on a volunteer project, I thought I knew what I was in for, a great experience meeting new people and having a good time. The above is 100% true, but an experience better than I could ever have imagined with some amazing experiences and even better people. Day to day work is always fun (even cleaning lion enclosures!) the staff at AP are amazing and make every session of everyday fun and not feel like work at all. Work ranges from cleaning enclosures to repairing roads and then goes on to include the amazing activities of Lion walks and Elephant walks. Elephant walks are fast paced and awe-inspiring, to see gentle giants up close, who remember when you bring them treats and will actively seek you out the next time you return, in the hope for a few more treats and even hang around when you dont have any for some great photo opportunities. Then there is the surreal experience of walking lion cubs in the African Bush. Short walks lasted about an hour and the long walks were up to 5 hours, depending on how hot it was during the day. Long walks were a new experience for me this time around, as the cubs are now at a stage where they are developing their hunting skills. All of the cubs gave us some exhilarating chases, from wildebeest and zebra to mongeese and warthogs. Each chase gave us an insight into their natural hunting skills and an experience that will never be forgotten. All in all, I would recommend this project to everyone. It's an experience you will never forget, even without wildlife I would go back to see the amazing staff and the natural beauty of Zimbabwe, add in Lions, elephants, wildebeest, Antelope and giraffe and I'm already saving for my next visit.

I had an amazing time at AP. I never made so many good friends in such a short time. AP and everyone will always have a special place in my heart. I would recommend AP to everyone who wants to work in the African bush and have the time of your lives.

Volunteering at Antelope Park has literally been a life-changing experience! This is my second time to Antelope Park volunteering with the lion project and I intend to continue to return. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and I have made close friends from all over the world as a result of this experience. Antelope Park itself is gorgeous and although the volunteer accommodations are the most ideal, they are comfortable and acceptable, definitely not enough to dissuade me from going back! I highly recommend this project for anyone because it is a humbling, life changing experience.

Best vacation I have ever been on, fantastic experience. so many amazing peoples in the staff and also getting new friends for life. and the animals there are so exotic and beautiful. and what a lovely nature.

Overall I really enjoyed the lion conservation project, my only issue was with the miscommunication and misinformation that wasn’t at all uncommon. For example no one really told me why there were so many lions in the enclosures, or about the chizarira project until three weeks into the project. I wish things like that would have been stated in the induction, it would have spared me a lot of unnecessary guilt.

I stayed at Antelope Park (AP) for a month and it was amazing! I had the best time there meeting new people from all over the world and of course meeting the beautiful animals. The activities, like walking the lions and elephants every day, cleaning enclosures, feeding the big lions and many more, were a lot of fun and it's definitely an experience I'll never forget. Also thanks to the amazing staff who made the activities and my stay a lot of fun.

I had such a great time in AP. Walking and taking care of the lions and elephants were absolutely amazing. Then, the excursions / extra activities were too expensive. Furthermore, the fact that we have to pay for the WiFi is unacceptable and even more when you have to pay 20$ per week. The food was good! The people was very nice and hardworking.
