Volunteer in this Childcare and Kindergarten program and help address the current teacher shortage at many kindergartens and childcare facilities in Koh Samui. Some classrooms can accommodate up to 30 children, making it difficult for a single teacher to give each child attention. Your role will be vital in assisting local teachers and offering support in the classroom. Through activities like songs, dances, games, and repetition exercises, you will help young children engage with and enjoy basic educational concepts. Additionally, you may help supervise the children’s meals, play with them, organize events, and occasionally assist with cleaning duties. You may also be involved in basic hygiene tasks, such as brushing hair, trimming nails, and assisting with feeding and caring for the children. Your support will also allow local Thai teachers—many of whom are not fluent in English—to practice English with the children. Exposing young learners to different accents and pronunciations early on will help them better understand and speak English and build their confidence in interacting with foreigners.
