Volunteer at a rainforest wildlife sanctuary in Peru through a program from Globalteer. The Peru Rainforest Wildlife Sanctuary is devoted to the promotion and protection of the welfare of rainforest animals—both free and captive—and the conservation of their natural environment. Illegal and uncontrolled extraction of flora and fauna has a deep impact on the loss of biodiversity in the Amazon rainforest, and a key focus of the project is educating locals on the importance of wildlife in the rainforest through environmental education workshops for different education levels. Another important objective of the program is the reintroduction of animals back into the wild when feasible. Some animals that have resided at the center include Howler Monkeys, Tortoises, Coati, Red Brocket Deer, White Lipped Peccaries, Brown Capuchin Monkeys, Three-toed Sloths, Anteaters, and various types of Macaws.

The National Registration Center for Study Abroad offers a Spanish language study and construction volunteering program in Peru. Volunteers spend 2 weeks (or longer) in group Spanish classes to learn the four basic language skills: oral and written comprehension, grammar, and listening. English will not be used during the classes that run for about 55 minutes per day and 20 hours per week. Students may enroll in as many weeks as desired. When they have a firmer grasp of Spanish, participants will join Un Techo Para mi Pais, an organization run by university students and operated by volunteers who build and reconstruct low-income housing.

'Quilla', pronounced 'Kiya', is the Quechuan word for moon—the symbol of a new beginning. Kiya Survivors aims to give just that. Through education, therapy, love, and laughter, we encourage new beginnings for children with disabilities or learning difficulties and living below the poverty line, from vulnerable homes. As a Kiya volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work in an eclectic environment in the coastal village, Mancora, supporting our Peruvian team in make a real difference to people. Kiya is looking for enthusiastic individuals, groups, & families to join us in Peru & help hands-on in our projects. Whether you support our work by volunteering your time as a social media manager helping increase our audience and online presence; developing your skills further by shadowing our trained therapists or help organize parent/family workshops or kids fun days, have the assurance your skills are useful and will have a direct & positive impact on the children & families we are supporting along with the local communities we work in. Volunteer abroad in Cusco, the enchanting ‘belly button’ of the Inca civilization and the main doorway to Machu Picchu - one of the world’s greatest wonders. With its narrow, cobblestone streets, Inca stonework, and women in ancient dress, you will forget you are living in the 21st century. But the real charm and the challenge come from the orphans with whom you will be working. Globe Aware offers diverse opportunities to volunteer in Cuzco, including working in a home for impoverished children from rural households. Many of these kids come from families who are too poor to care for them. Without this home or "albergue," these children would have no educational opportunities. Other service vacation projects include improvements and maintenance to facilities, such as painting classrooms, creating a garden, or constructing desks and beds. The children attend a public school in Cuzco during the day, but you will have ample opportunities to work directly with them after classes and on weekends. You may also visit a local family to construct a Lorena stove.
