The special needs school is large yet understaffed, thus requiring help with teaching and caring for over 480 residential students, some with severe disabilities, who would be at risk if staying in their communities. The school welcomes volunteers with experience in speech therapy, occupational therapy, social work, audiology, or another specialist area. They are especially looking for compassionate individuals willing to spend time with vulnerable children. On the other hand, the language school needs volunteers who can plan and conduct lessons in English, German, French, or Italian. The goal is to develop knowledge of a second language among young adults, helping open employment opportunities abroad. Under-resourced schools in Diani Beach seek volunteers to work with children living in extreme poverty.

Your role involves the following responsibilities: - Organize fun and educational activities to foster learning among children through play - Lead basic computer lessons - Help improve and brighten the classroom environment - Keep the children entertained with different activities, allowing the teacher to focus on struggling students The program entails 30 volunteer service hours weekly. You split your time between organizing educational classroom activities and light renovation work. It’s a great way to gain childcare experience and boost your CV. Volunteers are invited to participate in a program that aims to provide high-quality education in Kenya. Schools are located in various parts of the county, each offering beautiful and serene surroundings, with mountains and just a two-hour drive from the capital city of Nairobi. The teaching schedule runs from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. During your free time, you can go on excursions with students, ride a bike, enjoy evening walks, read a book in relaxing settings, or write your reflections. We welcome couples, individuals, and groups. All projects are near amenities like hospitals, banks, ATMs, swimming pools, and clubs. Volunteer teachers are provided access to WiFi, a working desk, a laptop (at times), and free tours to wildlife destinations.
