School Renovation & Construction Assistant | UCESCO Africa

250 children in Samburu Village currently attend classes under trees and in temporary shelters. Some have lost their parents. Many face the daily risk of homelessness. The school being built here is more than infrastructure—it is a lifeline. UCESCO Africa's construction and community volunteer program in Samburu, northern Kenya, invites hands-on volunteers to help complete classrooms, a dormitory, and a kitchen for the only school serving this remote semi-nomadic community. Construction tasks include laying floors, erecting walls, building roofs, painting, and maintaining existing structures. No prior construction experience is required — just a willingness to show up and work alongside a passionate local team. This program offers a culturally rich volunteer experience with the Samburu people, a sub-tribe of the Maasai in East Africa. Volunteers share meals, teach children, and engage in farming and women's empowerment projects. Official volunteer hours are from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, leaving afternoons free for cultural activities and local exploration.
