USAC Italy: Torino - Intl. Business, Politics & Architecture

The Torino program is ideal for students who are interested in studying International Business, Art/Architecture, and Italian Studies in an exciting, cosmopolitan setting. Named the Youth Capital of Europe in 2010, Torino is an excellent location to study and practice the Italian language and experience Italy's rich culture away from crowded tourist areas. It is home to many prominent international companies, and this program provides an excellent opportunity to meet European students and business people in a leading center for European business and business education. Choose courses from three diverse academic areas: International Business, Architecture/Design/Art, and Italian Studies. The Torino program combines academic coursework with practical learning, tours, and field trips to create an integrated cultural experience. *Due to the global health status, USAC is making changes to summer, fall, and yearlong programs, and some options might not be available. These changes are posted on individual program pages on the USAC website.*

Car Design - An Introduction

In line with the themes that characterize the knowledge and research of the territory, IED Turin offers a three-week program designed to make the curriculum more competitive and to enrich it with new skills. The Car Design summer course in July provides an introduction to basic elements and tools, contemporary trends, and industrial challenges. It focuses deeply on the car designer's professional role. You’ll have the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge, and intellectual abilities to design new vehicles based on a clear understanding of proportion, volume, and surface design principles. You’ll talk with professionals and experience this career path through practical training, guided tours, and visits. Then, you’ll move forward into the modeling lab and, together with your classmates, produce a car design model. Projects will be subject to the groups' and teachers' critiques. This introductory-level course is designed for creative, flexible, open-minded students or professionals from other fields, as well as people interested in the world of automotive design, who do not have prior knowledge or experience. Skills such as drawing or sketching can be useful.

One of the best decisions of my life!

I studied abroad in Torino, Italy, with USAC during the 2025 Spring semester. This experience was everything I expected and more! USAC was so great at explaining how to complete the necessary paperwork, VISA, etc., to study abroad. Once I arrived, the staff on-site was amazing. Eliana and Daniele were so helpful for the entirety of my stay in Torino. They coordinated everything from a trip to Bergamo and Lake Como, a tour of the city, and tours of both Torino F.C. and Juventus stadiums. As far as my classes went, I took five classes that allowed me to immerse myself in the Italian culture. I learned Italian, took a cooking class, an Intercultural Communication class, a Sports Business class, and an International Marketing class. Torino was perfect because it was a huge Italian city with lots to do. I really felt like I learned a lot about Italian culture studying abroad there, because it forced me to learn the language. Torino also allows you to travel anywhere you want from the train station. I visited a new country or city every weekend I was abroad. 10/10 experience, if you can go to Torino, go!
