Your Open Campus Block program in Rome lasts 6, 12, or 18 weeks and is designed to be completely customizable. You will enroll in CIEE courses and online courses taught through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Spend a semester or academic year in Rome with AIFS Abroad. Earn up to 17 credits through the International Internship Program at Fairfield University. No previous Italian language study is required. Your program begins with a 1-week language and cultural orientation to acclimate to life in Italy. You also have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take art classes at the Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA). Rome will be your classroom. All of our courses feature numerous faculty-led visits to museums, sites, and monuments. If you have a passion for fashion photography and want to build your portfolio, this program offers the skills to set up an outdoor fashion shoot in Rome. With a stunning backdrop of history and the modern city, our instructors will guide you through the entire process—from developing the initial concept and moodboard to studio shooting, selecting locations, organizing the creative team, and managing models—helping you create the story you want to tell. Under professional guidance, including stylists and photographers, you'll explore the fashion industry through practical and theoretical lessons. The course starts with fashion photography and studio shoots to build cultural and technical skills. You will then create a moodboard, choose locations, outfits, accessories, and proceed to outdoor shoots, photo selection, editing, and post-production. The programme is open to high school graduates, university students, or professionals seeking practical experience in fashion and image. Applicants need a high school diploma, upper-intermediate English (B2 level), basic photographic techniques knowledge (exposure, lenses, framing), and photo editing skills with Photoshop.
