Celebrating the New Year in Bali!

July 08, 2025by: Brenley Bruxvoort - United StatesProgram: Study Abroad in Bali (Undiknas University)

Studying abroad at Undiknas University in Bali through StudyAbroad.com was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! From the moment I began exploring the idea, my advisor made me feel supported and confident in the process. Even once I arrived in Bali, I always knew exactly who to turn to if I had questions or needed help. While I learned a lot in class, I learned just as much—if not more—outside of it. We took part in incredible site visits and activities, from yoga classes and traditional Balinese ceremonies to visits to stunning resorts. The university staff and professors were incredibly welcoming, and so were the locals and my fellow classmates. Some of my favorite memories were the shared meals with the other students in my group in our shared villa at night—laughing, sharing music, learning about one another’s cultures, and talking about how different (and similar!) our worlds were. We also got to celebrate the New Year and watch fireworks on the beach together, which is a memory that I'll hold closely forever. Of course, like any adventure, there were a few tricky moments, but I chose to see them as opportunities to grow instead of challenges or failures. I can point to specific moments where I really grew as a person because of those experiences. Connecting with people from around the world, many of which are still friends, and getting to live and learn in a new country has had a really powerful impact on both my personal and professional life. I highly recommend StudyAbroad.com to anyone considering studying abroad!
