Studying abroad at Liverpool: a wonderful experience
by: Claire Laurent-Stevens - FranceProgram: Study Abroad at the University of LiverpoolThe year I spent at the university of Liverpool was my first year abroad, and I could not be happier to have chosen this university. I feel emotional each time I look back on this experience. The reception we were given was amazing, everything was done so that we felt integrated, the meeting between abroad students and therefore between different cultures was immediately favoured. Great activities and travels were organised, which were so many opportunities to discover the wonderful country that...
New experience, new me
by: Bella Van Overbeke - FranceProgram: Study Abroad at the University of LiverpoolI was scared to study abroad because it means leaving my home but I didn't know back then when I stepped in Liverpool, that it would become the home of my heart a few months later. I enjoyed every second of it and I loved studying there. I think the quality of the study is amazing and i loved every teacher I was linked to during my program. Thank you for this lovely experience.
The best time ever!
by: Marijan Divkovic - CroatiaProgram: Study Abroad at the University of LiverpoolUniversity: The university and the lectures were outstanding. Also, the university has two libraries that are open 24 hours! This is something I can only dream of in Austria at my home university. Being at 1 am in the library with your friends while finishing last-minute assignments can be more fun than one would expect ;-) The students at the university are very diverse. I met people from all over the world. I am still in contact with most of the people. I also met my girlfriend there. Hence, ...

What inspired you to travel abroad?
The University of Liverpool is one of the most prestigious and beautiful universities in the United Kingdom — particularly in the North of England! I was excited to work at a Russell Group University, as this indicates the institution places a strong emphasis on research and teaching. Aside from the strong academics at the university, I love how friendly and welcoming both the university and the city are. Scousers (locals from Liverpool) are known for being some of the friendliest people in the UK, and this is a great environment to study and work in!

What inspired you to travel abroad?
During my working day, I work on a range of tasks. I answer emails and telephone calls from students wishing to find out more about studying abroad and the opportunities open to them. I also complete administration for the team. This includes research into comparative Universities and study abroad programmes, managing the Study Abroad Ambassador and Buddy programmes and providing support for the team where necessary. I work across both inbound and outbound teams, meaning a very varied day.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
I was a Student Ambassador and Course Representative during my time at University, as well as having roles on the Marketing and Media Committees and launching my University radio station and magazine, so I already had a good understanding of how Universities operated and how to effectively market to students. Furthermore, I had gained lots of experience of global marketing in my previous roles and I was keen to build upon this. It was also a fantastic opportunity to promote the city of Liverpool, as well as the University.
