Two months in Buenos Aires

Review Title: A Fantastic Experience in Argentina My two months in Buenos Aires were unforgettable. The accommodations were comfortable and in great locations like Recoleta or Palermo, making it easy to enjoy everything the city has to offer. One of the best parts of the experience was meeting people from all over the world and building friendships that will last. The local staff were welcoming, helpful, and always willing to assist with any questions. Buenos Aires is an incredible city full of culture, great food, and amazing energy, and this program made it easy to feel at home from day one. I highly recommend it to anyone considering spending time in Argentina.

My best Memories in Argentina

I approached Mente to do a language course during my time in Argentina and it proved to be a very rewarding decision. Joining Mente gave me a community in BA as well as being the gateway to meeting some of the people I would make my most lasting memories of Argentina with and would push me to continue to improve my spanish. I was hesitant to pay the extra for Mente rather than doing language classes independently but I am very grateful I made the decision to be a part of the community and enrich my whole trip with the activities and people from Mente.

I completed the wine course with Mente and found it to be an incredibly rewarding experience. Not only was I able to significantly broaden my wine knowledge and deepen my understanding of viticulture, wine production, and tasting techniques, but I also had the opportunity to enjoy a truly immersive experience in Argentina's renowned wine region. Mente ensures that every aspect of the program is well organized and thoughtfully planned. From providing all the necessary supplies and resources to offering continuous support throughout the course, their team is always available and ready to assist. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care for participants made the experience both educational and enjoyable. I would highly recommend Mente to anyone looking to expand their wine expertise while experiencing the culture, hospitality, and beauty of Argentina.

I came to Argentina with mente Argentina for the first time and it was a really good experience ! It’s perfect if you want to make friends and contacts really quickly, the atmosphere is warm, people are really nice and the activities are amazing ! I did the barman program during 1 month and it was really resourceful but I ended up staying in Argentina longer using Mente Argentinas apartment. Even if I was technically not with Mente anymore, I kept really good friendships from mente Argentina as I was in the shared apartment option. The apartment has everything you need to make your stay comfortable, it was also close to marketplaces, bars etc. This option is also really good if you want to make friends fast ! I recommend entirely !

Mente Argentina is a fantastic experience from start to finish. This is the second time I have used them and I could not recommend them enough. All the members of staff are so welcoming and supportive, and are fantastic with not only helping you find the right experience, but also settling into life in Argentina! The many different types of courses they offer appeal to everyone, and the internship they helped me choose was a perfect fit and I had such a wonderful time. The activities they offer help you get to know everyone which makes being alone in Argentina a much better experience!

I had the amazing opportunity to do a two-week Spanish immersion program through Mente. It was such an amazing experience. The apartment they provided was modern and in a great location. I looked forward to going to class every day and enjoyed all the activities they arranged. Buenos Aires is the most beautiful city I have ever visited, and I can't wait to go back. I have already recommended Mente to many friends and plan on returning for another program.

Mente Argentina: 3 month study abroad experience

December 31, 2025by: Odin Bowen

Program: Mente Argentina: Ultra Intensive Spanish Program

4

I traveled to Argentina through Mente’s study abroad program and had the best time ever! During my 3 months staying in Buenos Aires, I met a ton of new friends, gained valuable cultural experiences, and had the opportunity to immerse myself in a different part of the world. My program package consisted of housing, group activities, and a Spanish language learning school. While I did arrive in Argentina after taking Spanish classes all throughout school, my Spanish speaking skills improved exponentially after taking classes. I can confidently say that it was my favorite part of the Mente program! I would spend each weekday learning and growing with some of my closest friends, as well as spending evenings and weekends getting together for an asado or ice cream. I do recommend having at least some Spanish speaking capabilities before arriving, and I believe that I was able to do much more during my time there because of that. With regards to my housing, I was initially living with an Argentinian host mom in a homestay, yet I ended up moving to a shared apartment after the first month or so. There were multiple reasons why I decided to move, and while the Mente coordinators were totally supportive of my decision, some communication issues did eventually contribute to the difficult situation. However, after moving into the shared apartment with other Mente students, I immediately felt that I had more freedom and control over how I spent my time. That isn’t to say that all Mente homestay’s are unsuitable for everyone, but just in my case there were some complications. After I moved in to the apartment, me and my roommates outfitted it with various items such as cooking equipment, toiletries, and some furniture. In addition to that, Mente had the apartment cleaned weekly and were also very gracious whenever we needed any help with anything. The group activities were definitely the main thing that Mente provided. We would eat lunch at historic restaurants, go on museum tours, and walk around in beautiful open air markets. There was also so much more that just those examples, and I’d say that there was normally at least 1 or 2 activities each week. Something that was a little difficult was that the activities were usually announced the day before they were scheduled, so it was sometimes hard to plan things ahead of time. I would also say that the majority of the things that I filled my time with were things not associated with Mente, such as traveling to Córdoba and Montevideo, playing on a club ultimate frisbee team, or going to a River Plate game, all of which were a ton of fun as well. If you have any questions about what to do, what to see, or where to go, I’m more than happy to give some suggestions! I think my main takeaway for anyone reading this review is that if you’re on the fence about whether or not to take this trip, do it! While traveling abroad isn’t always the easiest thing to do, that’s what makes the experience so special and unique. While I do think that Mente has some areas that could use improvement, such as setting you up with a stable phone plan or being more proactive about planning, I can’t picture myself not taking this trip. While challenging situations did show up, the Mente coordinators were always there to help and support me. The city may seem daunting when you first show up, but after some time you’ll become accustomed and ready to take advantage of the amazing opportunity. I definitely would not be the person I am right now without my time in Buenos Aires!

Highly recommend recommended

I recently finished the four-week cooking course with Mente Argentina, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. This course stood out because it felt personal and genuine. The instructors shared technique their love of Argentine food and culture in an engaging manner. I left with more confidence in the kitchen and a real appreciation for Argentine hospitality and friendship. If you want something meaningful, hands-on, and unforgettable, Mente delivers exactly that.

I loved my experience with Mente Argentina! I am in my mid-twenties and recently graduated from college in the US, and Mente helped me set up a prestigious internship in Buenos Aires. I was able to gain valuable work experience and also begin learning Spanish. While in the program, I met some wonderful people that I have kept in touch with for a year now after coming home. It was great to have the Mente program to help me arrange housing and have people to help me navigate moving to a new city and country. Everyone was so nice, and Mente was flexible with what would work best for me. I was also able to have experiences in Buenos Aires that were both authentic to Argentina while also doing many tourist activities through the events that Mente planned each week. I spent 4 months with the Mente Argentina program, and in reality, after 2 months I felt like I could have been on my own. I did the homestay, which was really great, but I didn't know beforehand that I wouldn't be able to use the oven or stove there, so I had to eat out for every meal or have no-cook foods. Overall, I would highly recommend participating in the Mente Argentina program if you are looking for a unique international adventure while still having the safety of a program who knows where you are and can help with anything you need.

During my GAP year after highschool I spent two months with Mente. From the start they were very supportive, helping with any questions I had and finding the perfect voluntary work. I was able to work with kids, as I had hoped and it turned out to not only be very fun but also an opportunity to learn a lot about the country, the culture and general life questions. Mente also provided me with an apartment in one of the best neighborhoods of the city were I was able to meet others from different countries. Mente also did a great job on organizing events, were we got to explore the city, get amazing food and meet others in the program which really helped me to find friends. Without Mente my time in Argentina wouldn’t have been nearly as special as it was and I would always recommend them.

Mente’s staff were very responsive and flexible, even after I arrived. Honestly, I wasn't comfortable with my first room, but they quickly moved me and made sure I was comfortable, and are always happy to help. I loved the Spanish school and felt very safe in my neighborhood. Activities were scheduled week by week, so you’d find out the details closer to the date, which kept things feeling spontaneous. Some of the activities were group meals. We also visited some great spots I wouldn’t have found on my own. Overall, I am really glad Mente made this experience in BA possible without needing to arrange everything myself.

I had the incredible opportunity to spend three months with Mente at the start of this year, and the experience was truly unforgettable! As part of my university degree, we were required to spend time abroad in an internship, and Mente made this transition so smooth and effortless. They took the time to find an internship that not only aligned perfectly with my personal interests but also met my university’s specific requirements—making the entire process seamless. During my stay, I lived in a shared apartment, which was a great way to meet new people from different backgrounds. The location was perfect, and it allowed me to explore the city in my free time. One of my favourite parts was the weekly activities organised by Mente. They were always engaging, never repetitive, and catered to a variety of interests. The group meals were my personal favourite—everyone had the chance to get to know each other over delicious food, and we were always spoiled for choice! Throughout my time abroad, Mente was incredibly supportive, always available to answer any questions or ease any concerns I had. Ultimately, it was an amazing experience and I can't recommend them enough!

I would recommend Mente to anybody looking to gain experience abroad whilst enjoying the local culture and creating new friendships. My experience with Mente was very good, they were more than helpful when I encountered an issue with a local and i enjoyed playing the football every week (which is included in the program) that was ran by Sam. It was well worth the money for both the experience and all the events they host during the week which are free for Mente participants! My friend also joined along sometimes as he was travelling for 14 days with me and they were more than accommodating to him too. I choose to do a business internship over the course of 9 weeks, I created many events for both locals and students looking to make new friends or experience new interest. I highly recommend doing the tango or joining the football sessions!

Mente has a fantastic team that is dedicated to making a positive experience for you in Argentina. The internships sometimes aren't the best (if I were to redo, I would focus more on learning/skill-building), but the smoothness of entry to the country, social network, and individual support are well worth it. I made life-long friends at on my Mente trip!!!

I was going on a semester abroad through out the organisation Mente Argentina in Buenos Aires. Since the beginning I had really good and fluent contact with Mente. They helped me a lot with figuring out my specific situation which I really value and appreciate. The reponses always came quite quick and have been detailed. I arrived with a good feeling in Buenos Aires. Few minutes after my arrival, a worker from Mente showed up and gave me a starter kit, with a Sim Card, a guide and a cash exchange which made my start really easy. For any matters or upcoming problems Mente has been available and fixed them quite quickly. Through the good network of Mente, I quickly made friends and had the opportunity to be part of a language school and my university programm. Mente organised multiple events every week. The events have been quite interesting and were definetly a lot of fun! Since today I am grateful that I met so many people and good friends through Mente. With their helpful and open attitude the people in the Mente Team became good friends as well. I will definetly recommend anybody to benefit from the organisation Mente Argentina, especially if a semester abroad in the city of Buenos Aires sounds interesting :)

Program: Mente Argentina: DJ Program (+Optional Spanish Classes)

5

Mente Argentina was an incredibly enriching experience that I would recommend to anyone considering living in Argentina or just wants to immerse themselves in Argentinian culture for a few weeks. The registration and enrollment process was seamless and the staff was very responsive and helpful throughout the program. Intensive Language Program: I participated in Mente Argentina to enhance my Spanish language skills, and it delivered excellently on this front. Classes were conducted almost entirely in Spanish, (even for those with little Spanish skills, instructors do a great job of communicating in Spanish most of the time) fostering an immersive learning environment that was relaxed but professional. All of the instructors were native speakers (and many of them had extensive knowledge of the local socio-political context of Argentina). They all had extensive teaching experience, which helped us grasp complex linguistic nuances. I really enjoyed the small class sizes which allowed for personalized attention and active participation/conversation, making the in-class learning process extremely effective. Though after four hours, my brain was exhausted. While I was only in the language program for a week, I learned about Argentinian history, culture, literature, and politics while also learning a little Spanish along the way! Cultural Immersion: Beyond the classroom, the Mente program emphasized cultural immersion and offered various cultural activities, such as Mate classes, dance workshops, and guided tours of historic sites, which enriched our cultural knowledge. The Mente-sponsored lunches and other programs were also a bonus and not something I expected but certainly took advantage of! I met some really cool folks from all over the world including the UK, Canada, Australia and other parts of the US. Make sure to take the La Boca tour and the Bike Tour, they were my favorites!! All of the tours that Mente offers were phenomenal and had really knowledgeable tour guides and the best part, they’re free! DJ Program: By far this was my favorite part of my experience. The instructor for this program was absolutely the best and I could not have asked for a better experience. Though I was only in the DJ program for two weeks, I strongly recommend that you spend a minimum of 4 weeks if you are serious about learning how to be a DJ. Two weeks for me was not enough but it certainly was an experience I will never forget! Social Integration: The program fostered a strong sense of community among the participants. I really liked that many of us came from diverse backgrounds but shared a common goal of learning Spanish. This created a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. The group activities and excursions were cool and provided opportunities to bond and make lasting friendships. The social aspect of the program was a significant highlight, making the experience enjoyable and memorable. Living Arrangements: This was also one of my favorite aspects of the Mente Program. I stayed in a one-bedroom loft apartment in Recoleta, though I’d recommend rooming with others for the social aspect. The apartment was nice and had everything I needed, best part is it was located near many cafes and restaurants and directly across the street from a laundry mat. The location was convenient too, close to bus and metro stops. I never felt unsafe especially walking around late at night. Some negatives/areas to improve upon: Balancing academic responsibilities with cultural activities and social engagements was occasionally challenging, especially if you are only there for two weeks like I was. If you plan to stay longer, this may not be that big of a deal because there is so much to do in Argentina, I couldn’t do it all in two weeks. I would have liked to have had more organized Mente events in the evening since that is when I had more free time. A slightly reduced time in the Spanish courses could have allowed for a better balance between study and leisure. A four-hour course in the morning and then a 2 hour course in the late afternoon is a bit rough. I would have preferred a more back to back schedule so that I could have more free time in the evening. Also, keep in mind that Argentinians go out to dinner very late at night so plan accordingly! The only other issue I had was the confusion with the Metro Card and the Sim card for the phone, it wasn’t clear on how much credit was loaded on the metro card. The Sim phone card was confusing as well, it was not clear if there were phone minutes or data and whether or not more minutes/data needed to be purchased.

Mente Argentina was instrumental in making my 6-week stay in Buenos Aires a resounding success. I enrolled in the Spanish and Tango programs, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the quality, expertise, professionalism, and flexibility of everyone involved. I have taken a number of Spanish intensives, and this was by far the best I’ve experienced. They make you speak in Spanish, no matter your level, and they are encouraging without your feeling pressured to perform beyond your capacity. I learned SO MUCH and made friends as well! The tango was phenomenal. I took private lessons as well as group classes as part of the program, and my teachers were exacting, knowledgeable, and encouraging. I went from an advanced beginner level to true intermediate in only 6 weeks of hard work! In fact, I had originally planned to stay for 4 weeks but I was having such a great time I added another 2 weeks onto my stay. I was living in a studio apartment in a terrific area - central, quiet, yet near all forms of transit. I felt like I really got the hang of being a “porteño”. The Mente staff were really helpful - really went above and beyond, even advising me on a trip to Patagonia which was not part of their program. I always felt like I had a resource I could call on, at any time. I was a little concerned about thinking this was mainly for college-aged or recent college grads, but I found people of all ages in the program and I felt quite comfortable in my mid-sixties with all the folks I met. In sum - this is definitely the way to start out experiencing a complex city like Buenos Aires on one’s own - with a support team like Mente Argentina behind you!

Mente was absolutely incredible as a host during my stay in Buenos Aires. They were incredibly warm, friendly, and kind, always going out of their way to ensure I had the best experience possible. I never felt lost or out of touch with what was happening in the city, thanks to their continuous updates and recommendations. They also organized some truly exciting tours and activities for me, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to my time in Buenos Aires. Moreover, the Spanish classes they arranged for me were incredibly engaging and effective, leading to significant improvement in my language skills. Thank you Mente, I had the best time with you.

Quality organization with many valuable inclusions. Definitely worth it. I had not trouble improving my Spanish from an already upper-intermediate level, being exposed to new vocabulary and discourse every day. I never had a dull moment, with options for activities almost every day. The organization made this all possible without much effort from myself, there were never any issues, the hardest part was trying to find enough time to sleep.

My experience with Mente was wonderful, especially as someone who is mid-career--they helped to arrange my trip to accommodate this fact so that not only did it run smoothly but I had plenty of opportunities to meet others in the program during the weekly cultural events, which were a highlight for me. It was also nice to be able to adapt my Spanish lessons, and the availability of the program coordinators helped me to feel truly taken care of. Thank you, Mente, for making my experience in Buenos Aires!

Program: Mente Argentina: Tango Program + Optional Spanish Classes

4

I spent two weeks in Buenos Aires doing the intensive Tango course and added Spanish course and had a wonderful time. The program was perfectly organized by Mente, with members of staff always available to answer questions or help out. The accommodation they had put me in was very centrally located, within walking distance from the Tango studio and just a short subway ride from the language school. Mente also organized weekly events with other Mente students, which was a lot of fun and a great way to make friends. The Tango classes were a lot of fun, yet challenging at the same time. The teacher was friendly and supportive, and I got lots of practice. The Spanish lessons were also very good, I felt like after a week, I was able to say quite a lot (the groups change quite a lot though, and the teachers too, so it can get a bit repetitive). In short, this Mente program was very interesting and great value for money.

I joined Mente Argentina for a two month volunteer program combined with Spanish lessons, and I can confidently say it was truly an amazing opportunity. For starters, Mili and Sam, both of whom got me set up when I first got to Buenos Aires, were kind, welcoming, responsive, and made sure that I had everything I needed throughout the duration of the program. They both put in so much work every day to make these programs fun, interesting, and eye-opening for everyone involved. Mente additionally puts on weekly activities for all of its participants, where individuals can get to know one another and create community. I would strongly recommend that everyone go to as many of these as possible, as it is a great way to meet new people and explore areas of the city that you aren’t as knowledgeable about. Through these events, I was able to visit a theatre, museums, restaurants, the Japanese Garden, and many more. The volunteer work that I did focused around a home for children, and I was able to play with and develop connections with kids ages 0-12. Every day, I would travel to this home for a few hours, bring games and art for the kids, and sometimes help them with a meal as well. It was both a great way to practice Spanish, as well as an amazing opportunity to learn more about what life is like for a young student in the city. I felt like my time here was very well-spent, and I came out of this position with a much better understanding of the schooling and healthcare systems in Argentina as well. For my housing, I was able to stay in a residence for students attending university in Buenos Aires. I had three roommates for the majority of my stay, two of which were from Ecuador and one who was from Northern Argentina. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know them, and they made me feel welcomed from the moment I arrived. All in all, I would strongly recommend Mente Argentina for anyone looking for an immersive, independent experience in an urban city. The volunteer program and Spanish lessons work with your schedule, so you develop a sustainable routine while still having plenty of time to explore the city on your own. There are many fun day trips as well from the city center, such as taking the ferry to Colonia in Uruguay or going up to the delta Tigre in a nearby province. I am so appreciative for everyone that I met during my time with Mente and I hope to return to Buenos Aires someday soon! Below are a few photos from my stay-

This year I had the pleasure of experiencing Argentinian culture for six weeks. Thanks to the amazing Mente Argentina staff and other fellow participants, this has been an absolutely unforgettable adventure which I will cherish forever. Through Mente, I took the intensive language course which was fun, interactive and perfectly challenging for my beginner proficiency level. In addition, they provided me with a wonderful accomodation in Palermo, the most exciting part of Buenos Aires! The comfortable and fully furnished apartment was also close to all things I needed, such as the convinience stores right next door and the lavadero and metro station down the street. Sharing the apartment with four other Mente participants allowed me to build the best friendships and feel right at home there! The combination of the hospitality and professional assistance was remarkable. For example, the initial services included in the personal welcoming booklet, like a SIM card and public transport card, proved extremely useful and stress-relieving. Similarly, any questions and requests were always promptly answered by the extraordinary staff. Moreover, I always made sure to attend the weekly activites that Mente organized. They were the perfect way exploring the city’s culture and food like a local in a very fun and social way with my fellow Mente participants, accompanied by the best Mente coordinator! This way, I met the other diverse and international students and was able to build lasting friendships. All in all, I had the most amazing stay in Buenos Aires thanks to the exceptional staff from Mente Argentina (and the language school) and I highly recommend their services to everyone who considers visiting Argentina as well!

At the end of 2022, I spent six weeks with Mente in Buenos Aires, Argentina, attending a Spanish language school. It was, in many ways, an absolutely fantastic experience with friends and memories to last a lifetime. Mente arranged accommodation, school, sim card, subway card, etc., which made it super easy to arrive without stress but with a feeling of being in good hands. Mente was good at organizing weekly events, so no one felt lonely. I met many super exciting people through school and Mente, all with their backgrounds and inspiring stories to tell. I can recommend anyone considering spending a period with Mente to do so.

If you're considering studying abroad in Argentina, I would recommend looking into Mente Argentina. My experience with them was very positive. From start to finish, their team was incredibly helpful and made the process seamless. They provided me with assistance in choosing the best program for my interests and needs, and they were always available to answer any questions I had. The program itself was great. The classes were engaging, the professors were knowledgeable and passionate, and the activities were a great way to immerse myself in Argentine culture. Mente Argentina also provided me with a wonderful homestay experience, which allowed me to practice my Spanish and learn more about daily life in Buenos Aires. What really impressed me was how affordable the program was. I was able to have an incredible study abroad experience without breaking the bank. I also wanted to share how impressed I was with Mente Argentina's ongoing support even years after my experience. Recently, I needed a copy of my transcript and they were able to help me retrieve it without any issues. Overall, I highly recommend Mente Argentina to anyone considering studying abroad in Argentina. Their team truly goes above and beyond to provide students with an unforgettable experience.

I just wanted to share my amazing experience studying abroad in Argentina with Mente Argentina! I can't recommend them enough if you're thinking about studying abroad. One of the things I loved about Mente Argentina was how personalized my experience was. They really took the time to get to know me and my interests, and tailored my program accordingly. Mente Argentina also provided me with so much support before, during, and after my program. They found me a great place to live, and even organized cultural immersion activities that helped me get to know the city and its people better. They also helped make sure that my transcripts were appropriately sent to my school, which I've learned is a huge deal when you're paying for credits. While my I was there, I traveled around Argentina with some of my new-found friends and visited Iguazu falls, which I highly recommend! Overall, my time with Mente Argentina was unforgettable. I met incredible people, improved my language skills, and gained a deeper understanding of Argentina's history and culture. If you're thinking about studying abroad, definitely consider Mente Argentina - they won't disappoint!

Hey? My name is Gil. I'm 23 years old and i'm from israel. On january 2023 i had participated in the Mente Argentina program in Buenos Aires. During the program, I combined spanish classes, bartender and barista courses and a very significint volunteering experience in a house for children from challenging backgrounds. It can be hard to choose to participate in an international program in a foregner country. I wasn't sure what to look for before my arrival but the whole experince was just perfect!! Way beyond my expectations! The staff, Sam and Milli were very professional and super-nice . I felt secure to approach them with any question regarding the voluntter or in general.

Mente is an amazing organization to do your internship through. I did my internship at an NGO for 4 1/2 months. Initially only 3 months were planned, but I ended up extending because I loved it so much! At the beginning I had one week of Spanish classes and then started the internship. Before I came to Argentina I had already been in close contact with the coordinators and choose the organization where I had my internship at together. The internship was a great experience, the environment in the office was amazing, the people exeptionally friendly and I got to meet many new people and really got to practice my Spanish! :) From the beginning everyone at Mente was super supportive and with any question about anything they were always happy to help. The personal relationship you have with the coordinators right from the beginning and you get to build on really makes this program one of a kind! They placed me in a shared apartment in Palermo and so I got to meet people and find friends right from the beginning. Every week there was an event where I got to meet even more people and make even more friends - from visits to museums to lunches, tango shows and even a day trip to Colonia, they were always really awesome and a lot of fun! :) Mente really made my experience in Buenos Aires amazing and helped me settle in very quickly. Through one of my roommates I even met my girlfriend! :D All in all I am really glad I chose to come to Buenos Aires with Mente :)

I recently had the pleasure of participating in the Mente Argentina program in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I cannot recommend it enough for anyone interested in creating their own adventure in this vibrant and dynamic city and country. From the moment I arrived, the Mente team went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was exceptional. The program offers a wide range of accommodations, from homestays to apartments, all conveniently located in some of the most popular neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. The accommodations were comfortable, safe, and provided a great opportunity to immerse myself in the local culture. One of the highlights of the program was the weekly social outings organized by Mente. These outings allowed me to explore different areas of Buenos Aires, learn about the city's history and culture, and connect with other program participants from across the world. It was truly an unforgettable experience, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to participate. Throughout my time in Buenos Aires, the Mente team was always available to answer questions, offer guidance, and ensure that each program participant's needs were met. Whether it was arranging activities, providing information on local events and attractions, or just checking in to see how I was doing, the team was always friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. In summary, if you are interested in creating your own adventure in Buenos Aires, I cannot recommend Mente enough. From the excellent accommodations to the social outings and exceptional support from the program team, it truly exceeded my expectations. Thank you, Mente Argentina, for an amazing experience! ??

I stayed in Buenos Aires for a month with Mente to do the Spanish language and tango programs. I learned a lot in both programs, but what I especially appreciated was how organized Mente was. Everything ran so seamlessly with them. The price you pay includes a lot more than just the program you’re in - the ride to and from the airport was included, a weekly meal/activity with Mente, biking and walking tours, tango shows, and a lot of other little things that weren’t even mentioned when I first booked, which definitely made it even more worth the money that I had originally expected. I was met at the apartment right away and they helped me with everything I needed, which made transitioning into life in Buenos Aires so much easier than if I had been on my own. It was so nice to have the Mente community to fall back on as I was getting to know the city and learn the language. They’re super responsive and happy to help you with anything you need - I definitely recommend them!

With Mente argentina I took the two week intensive wine program and it was amazing! I learned so much from it and I really got the basics of wine. Also, they arranged an apartment in Palermo for me which is the best location in Buenos Aires and there were so many nice activities to join. Mente Argentina was an awesome program for my 20 week journey in Buenos Aires. I was living independently with other roommates, but always felt secure and comfortable with the help from Mente and the planned activities we did. From La Bomba to the Palacio Barolo to the Microteatro, we were immersed in Argentine culture while bonding with others from the program. We created a great community and an unforgettable experience in BA, thanks to Mente.

Program: Dynamic Academic Semester: Study & Immerse in Buenos Aires

4

It would not be inaccurate to say that my six months in Buenos Aires were some of the best of my life. A condensed background--I am an Civil Engineering student at the Colorado School of Mines. I work during the semester, run student organizations, and bust my ass with my heavy courses. However, I have always had a heavy interest in economics, history, and literature. Furthermore, I have always wanted to learn Spanish because I thought it would be a helpful tool in the future. I decided to take advantage of my situation by taking a "break" and studying abroad in a Spanish-speaking country. Two issues, however, arose: 1. I had no idea where to go. And 2. I did not speak a word of Spanish. Luckily, I found Mente Argentina. Mente offered me a program where I did not need to speak a word of Spanish beforehand to study in university. The program offered 2 months of Spanish lessons at a small independent school followed by 4 months of the actual semester. Mente can connect you to a broad selection of universities in Buenos Aires. I chose the University of Belgrano, a good-sized private university centered in the beautiful neighborhood of Belgrano. There, I could chose classes from the PEAL/PALAS program. One of which had courses taught in Spanish and the other in English. I took five classes: 2 in Spanish and 3 in English. Despite not knowing a word of Spanish before arriving, I was successfully able to understand (most of) and succeed in the Spanish-taught courses due to the 2 months of Spanish lessons beforehand. However, here arises my only complaint: the courses shown by Mente were *not* the same courses offered by the university. As a result, I had to get a new set of courses approved by my host university. I was unable to get all the credit I wanted too because they didn't offer the high-level course that Mente had advertised. The professors were very friendly and knowledgeable. I personally recommend the "Argentine Economy" course taught by Professor Arguero and the "Political and Social Change" course taught by Professor Gonzalez. Both of these are taught in English. The Spanish school (VOS), was incredible in their job. I met lifelong friends there and made my mark on their wall (if you go there, my handprint is by the staircase and labelled Lucas with a heart in the middle). As I mentioned before, I was able to get to competent level of Spanish to take basic university courses within two months of their 5-day/week Spanish program. The building is beautiful and centered in the stunning neighborhood of Palermo. If you do go to this school, I recommend hitting NOLA: a Cajun fried chicken restaurant that is located a two minute walk away. As for housing, Mente supplied me with an apartment in Palermo. The location was amazing! Five minute walk away from Santa Fe St. 20 minutes away from Plaza Serano. Bus station is outside. Less than 10 minute walk to the subway. It was fairly easy to get a taxi there. There are multiple kisocos and a small supermarket (Dia) directly outside it. There is also plenty of great places to eat around there. The apartment itself was clean with very few issues. I loved hanging out on the long balcony. Mente will circle roommates in and out depending on their program. The roommates I have had became very close friends with me (with the exception of a strange hiccup at the beginning). Mente will host weekly events and invite everyone who is involved in a Mente program. This is where I met my closest friends in Buenos Aires, not at the university. Events include: happy hours (and miniature theatre), restaurants, museums, shows, and more. Samantha and Bea, who work at Mente, are both very friendly and fun to be around. If I ever had any questions or concerns, Mente was fast to address them and make sure I was comfortable there. As for Buenos Aires, it is a magical city. As you live here, you will learn about the history, culture, and areas of the city. I spent most of my time in three neighborhoods: Belgrano, Palermo, and Recoleta. Belgrano is a nice neighborhood home to my university and many grand houses, including embassies of all countries. Palermo is where I lived and is the premiere place to shop and dine (in my opinion). Recoleta is more upscale and touristy, home to many attractions. As for places to see, I recommend: Puerto Madero, the Recoleta Cemetary, El Ateneo "The Grand Splendid", the Colon Theatre, the Obelisk, the Casa Rosada, all the gardens, Tigre, and many others. Take your time to explore Argentina outside of Buenos Aires. I have been to: Mar del Plata, Bariloche, Iguazu Falls, and Salta. I won't go into detail about all of these locations, but know that Argentina is an incredibly diverse (and big) country. Make sure to explore everything that you can! And make sure to explore the rich history, too. Before going to Buenos Aires, I had never lived in a big city or spoke Spanish. Within no time, I had become a proud porteño! Take part in the culture...eat milanesas, asado, dulce de leche, and empanadas. Drink mate and partake in merienda. Learn the phrases (dale, boludo!). Take it easy and take your time. Cheer for River Plate and play some soccer! Altogether, I am very satisfied with my experience. Looking back, it feels too good to have been real. Surely, I will be returning to Buenos Aires, my second home!

Mente is a truly professional program to work with. They helped me with all of the pre-departure details, even with a nearly two year delay in my program (Covid). More importantly, however, Mente provides a supportive community when in another country. Through weekly cultural activities (music, food, theater, museums) and constant support in internship programs, I was able to maximize the time I had in Argentina through their program. I cannot recommend them enough!

Had a fantastic experience in Buenos Aires with Mente Argentina! The team is very professional and takes care of everything for you: from picking you up at the airport, providing transport & sim cards, exchanging money, making sure the apartment has everything you need, etc. I can't say enough good things about everyone at Mente! I participated in the cooking and wine programs and loved every second of it. You are enrolled in a professional cooking school with Argentine students, so it's a great way to immerse yourself in the culture! I took a variety of cooking classes, such as pastry & bread making and Argentine classic dishes (like milanesa and empanadas). The wine program is at another prestigious school, and you will learn about wine making, tasting & pairing, varieties of grapes, etc. I had the best month of my life cooking and drinking wine every day in Buenos Aires. If you're looking for an immersive experience abroad, I highly recommend checking out Mente Argentina!

My experience with Mente Argentina could not have been any better. I did the internship program and was able to combine that with some Spanish lessons as well. I had the chance to be flexible and switch between Spanish courses according to what would fit best. Furthermore I was assisted throughout the whole program. I received valuable information regarding public transport and other and was assigned to a lovely shared apartment in a great location. The staff was very supportive and always at your disposal. To top it all off Mente organized lovely trips where I was able to get to know the city better and meet other international people. I recommend the program without reservation!

I have nothing but positive acclamation for my experience with Mente. During my time with Mente, I did the intensive Spanish program for 3 months and I loved it. VOS (the Spanish school) help my Spanish immensely. With small classes I never had more than 5 in my class. This gave me the opportunity to speak more during class. Which really helped my Spanish improve. The school also had fun activities during and after class that allowed us to explore the city and practice our Spanish in a real life setting. I loved all of my teacher because they were all very personable and willing to put in the extra work when you we struggling. After the first week, it felt like a family. Life with Mente really allowed me to explore new foods, new parts of the city, and meet fellow people from Mente. Each week there is at least one or two dinners and/or activities that Mente puts on and pays for. I always took advantage of the free food and activities. The program coordinators were the best. They are all young and have been in the city for quite some time so they give you a little bit of a locals perspective. I made a lot of great memories and friends with these meetings. The housing is simple. They give you all of the essentials which was perfect for me. If I ever had an issue, the program had it fix with in a day or two as well so that was very comforting. The program also gives a lot assistance in pretty much all aspects including providing a public transportation pass which gets you pretty much every where you want to go. They also have detailed maps to/from school, hospitals, Mente headquarters, and your housing. All of the housings are in safe areas. Going to a big city in South America, I was a bit concerned about safety, but I always felt safe in my apartment and out on the streets around my apartment. I think that this program really gave you, your money’s worth. You Could totally find your own housing and a school/language program on your own but I feel like sense the security of this program and how stress free I felt from the moment they picked me up from the airport made it 100% worth it. You can really take the security of your own city and culture for granted, so having a program to ease the transition made all of the difference in the world. Highly recommended!

chose Mente after a lot of internet research, but really, one feels very nervous when they are spending a good chunk of money and then just hoping beyond hope that you have chosen the best overseas study program. What a relief it was to be hosted in Buenos Aires by the professional, fun and kind staff at Mente. They know what they are doing and they took care of everything I needed. My apartment was awesome and in a great (and safe!) part of town only a few blocks from the Mente head office. I stopped in for one thing or another and even though the advisors would be busy working, they always had time to help me and really make me feel at home. It gave me great comfort to learn that I could rely on them. From getting me a toaster to a toilet plunger, a blender and helping me book my weekend excursions and even helping me with my Spanish homework – the staff at Mente are tireless. The anxiety I had about being in a big city with beginner Spanish skills melted away the first couple of days when I knew I would be able to count on my new friends at Mente. The outings they plan for the group are so fun (and included in your fee!!), the University Spanish course I took was in a nice school and I was pleased with the whole experience. (I just received my official transcript from the University of BA) and the teachers and staff were just simply nice, accommodating, helpful and lovely. For one month I experienced the best of Argentina and because everything went off without a hitch, it will remain one of the best experiences of my entire lifetime. I participated in their intensive Spanish and tango programs on a 3 week visit to Buenos Aires. Mente made the experience phenomenal! From the time that I signed up for the program to when I left Buenos Aires, I had all the support I could need from maps, sim card, help with navigating Buenos Aires and more. I was very happy with my host family that they matched, and the Spanish and Tango courses that they organized. They also organized many group activities ranging from museum visits, picnics, day trips outside of BA, concerts, football games and great lunches which helped me meet not only other travelers but also locals. I had an amazing experience with my host family, learned a lot of Spanish, got to try many cultural Argentinian activities and explore Buenos Aires all in 3 weeks. Highly recommend Mente Argentina for solo travelers and those seeking a full immersion program and want to experience all that Buenos Aires has to offer!

My time with Mente was an all-around great experience. Not only did Mente help coordinate an amazing homestay and Spanish immersion program, but they also organized constant group activities so participants could get to know each other while exploring some of the best spots in Buenos Aires. They took care of all the little things like providing me with a local SIM and SUBTE card, and Mente even let me store some bags in their office while I went backpacking throughout other parts of South America. I learned a ton of Spanish, felt comfortable throughout my entire stay, and met interesting people from all around the world. Highly recommend to anyone considering an immersion program.

I did a 4-week Wine Program with Mente Argentina in July 2019 which I would highly recommend. The wine school was excellent and I learnt so much in a very short space of time. The program schedule fit me perfectly – I had plenty of free time to explore the city during the day and the fact that you are able to choose the duration of the program yourself to fit your needs/requirements was one of the main reasons I chose Mente. I was very pleased with the level of communication I received from the Program Advisors, both prior to my trip and during my time in Buenos Aires. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always available to answer any questions. They regularly arranged meet-ups and events where you got to meet other Mente participants, converse in your native language and experience the local culture. This was a big plus, especially as a solo traveller on a completely foreign continent. Although Mente’s programs seem to be aimed at students I was very impressed to see people of different ages from all walks of life, all of whom came to Buenos Aires to have their own unique experience. All in all, highly recommended. I definitely got what I came for and would happily return.

My name is Patricia, I’m from Ireland, a very small town in rural Ireland, and I came to Buenos Aires to learn some Spanish and to do a little bit of volunteer work under the wing of Mente Argentina with David, Pia, Sofia, and all of his team. I’ve had a wonderful experience, I wouldn’t have been able to do it without them, they were caring and minding me all the way and made everything very easy so I got to know the city. I love Buenos Aires, I thought it was the most beautiful city, and I will be back. My Spanish has improved even though I am now writing in English. I also had wonderful experiences visiting Salta, Jujuy, Mendoza, and Iguazú. So I certainly would like to thank Mente Argentina, they couldn’t have been better.

My name is Emanuelle, I’m 28 years old, and I’m from Italy. I spent a month in Buenos Aires with Mente doing two activities; an intensive Spanish course and a DJ course. I had a great time doing the Spanish course, I had never studied Spanish before, and being Italian it wasn’t too difficult to get the basics going. The school was really good with a great atmosphere so I enjoyed taking Spanish classes there. The DJ was a bit more of a peculiar choice. I had no expectations really because I had no idea what a DJ course would be like but it ended up being a lot of fun. I had been thinking about doing a DJ course for many years and now I figured I had the time and it turned out to be fun and also useful because in just a few weeks I feel that I got the basics that I need to practice once I go back to Italy. Mente made it very easy to get settled in Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires is a beautiful city, it really is a city that never sleeps and there is always something to do. I would absolutely recommend coming to Buenos Aires. It is a great place to study Spanish because the people are so friendly and it is easy to find someone to practice the language with. So I would gladly come back.

Hi, my name is Madeleine, I go to Boston College and I went to do the Mente Spanish program and also some volunteering in a hospital. My favorite part of Mente has just been the community that I’ve had since I’ve been here, getting to know the administrators and all of the students who come through Mente’s programs, it’s been incredible. There are about two organized activities a week and all of them have been fun. Last week we all had a snack together at a famous Buenos Aires café and we went to Fuerza Bruta, which is an incredible show. So I have really enjoyed the community, like my wonderful host family, they are so loving, and they have really helped me with my Spanish. Being able to travel around Argentina with the other people that I have met, having a lot of amazing adventures and exploring the city, in general, has been great.

I’m Tia Burton and I came on the six-week Mente Argentina internship in Buenos Aires program and I really loved it all. I stayed in an apartment in the most beautiful part of the city, to me, the most lively part. I do recommend this program to anyone who wants to come to Buenos Aires.

Definitely check out Mente Argentina

I just finished up an internship here in Argentina. I was here for the past few months but it really flew by, I felt like I was only here for a few weeks, I really had a great time. I’m glad that I did this program with Mente because they made everything so easy. From picking me up from the airport to giving me my Sube card, answering any questions I had, making sure I knew how to get around, they were always there. The best thing about Mente is that they have weekly events where you get to meet up with other people in Mente programs and I was able to find some really great friends and we hung out for all for my two months. So I had a great time in Buenos Aires, and if you decide to come by, definitely check out Mente Argentina.

Already providing value

So I did the 1-year MBA program at the University of Belgrano through Mente Argentina and it was a really great experience. On the side of Mente, they really helped me, setting up a place for me to live in an area like Palermo where it’s safe, and also fun, where you can go out and do a lot of cool things. One of the things that I really appreciated about Mente is that they really help you by providing events every week so that you have things to do and you can meet people when you don’t know anybody. Mente really provides a fun environment, they walk you through everything when it comes to getting your visa and all of the government stuff which can be really confusing when you don’t speak fluent Spanish. With anything at all, the Mente staff is there to help you and support you. I really enjoyed my program at UB, I learned a lot in my classes that I am going to use now when I return to the US to start working. When it comes to the teachers and the environment, they really do go out of their way to help you. They understand that maybe you don’t speak perfect Spanish on the same level as some other students in the class, and they work with you on that. I would rate my experience with Mente very highly, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to come to Argentina, be it for a MBA or just for a few months for some Spanish classes. You’re gonna see everything that Argentina has to offer, and you’re not forced to do anything, but you have the opportunity to do a lot of cool things that Mente includes in the price. I would recommend the MBA program to anyone that wants to do a MBA abroad, in my job interviews it has really been something that has differentiated me from other candidates, so it’s already providing value.

It was a lot of fun

Program: Mente Argentina: Bartending Program + Optional Spanish Class

My name is Zach, I did the Barman program through Mente. It was a lot of fun. I did the two weeks intensive but you can also do a month-long program. I went to a local professional barman school where I had classes with other people from Argentina and other countries in Latin America. It was an awesome experience because I was able to learn about the barman profession while also learning Spanish so it was a great immersive experience. In terms of Mente in general it was a great experience because they have extracurricular programs where you can meet people and do fun activities and tours so you can meet more people within the city. You can network out with other programs with language exchange and meet local people that are trying to learn English and they help you with your Spanish.

I am really glad that I chose Mente Argentina

Hi, my name is Ann Strange and I found Mente Argentina because I was looking for some coding classes to advance my skills and an immersion Spanish program in South America. Now I know that not a lot of people travel for coding school, but Mente found me one of the best programs around and one of the best Spanish immersion program. It was luck that I found them and I’ve had such a great experience. I think that I was trying to recreate my college abroad experience. I really liked how Mente tried to create social events a few times a week because that helped me meet other students that were studying other things in Buenos Aires. We all had something in common and that is that we are all looking for adventure, Spanish immersion, and Argentina. I’m sad that my program has come to an end, it was so much fun, but I am really glad that I chose Mente Argentina.

Hi, my name is Will, I’m from England, I was in Buenos Aires with Mente doing a wine program. I would really recommend coming to Argentina, and if you’re interested in learning about the local culture, studying Spanish, and learning about wine, I’d definitely recommend going with Mente. The thing that I like most about Mente Argentina is their willingness to help you with any problems that you have. They are very friendly and approachable. Regarding the course, I learned so much about the wine from Argentina. The quality of teaching is extremely high, so I would definitely recommend doing a program with Mente.

Program: International Internship Programs by Mente Argentina

5

My name is Piero, I’m from New Jersey, I was in Buenos Aires for about a month and a half doing an internship and the experience has just been incredible. If you are on the fence about coming, you’ve just gotta come because you get a great experience working-wise, you meet a ton of people, there is so much culture. One of my favorite thing about Buenos Aires is the food, the people that you meet here, and then there is so much art. There is so much to explore, the city is enormous, it’s truly a great experience. So if you’re thinking about coming, but you’re not sure, I would recommend that you come because for me this experience has been incredible. Mente has helped me out a lot with figuring out which barrios to go to, recommending cultural events, and stuff like that.

Hi, I’m Paul, I went to Buenos Aires to a Spanish program and then a semester at the University of Belgrano. All I can say is that Mente is a great place because they really help you out with the whole experience. They have a lot of great events, lots of good foods, especially with Sofia. So come to Argentina, you will have fun.

Program: Mente Argentina: Summer Spanish Program + Tango, Photography

5

I’m Noah, I’m from the University of Florida and I came to Buenos Aires for the intensive summer Spanish program, and I studied basic Spanish for a month. I had no prior experience but now, after a month, I have a pretty good grasp on the basics of the language. I’ve really enjoyed my time in Buenos Aires and the Mente program has been a big part of that. They’ve set me up in a decent residence, they provided a lot of free activities, and they’ve really helped me adjust and explore the city. Take advantage of their free programs, they are really nice, especially the street tours. Everything about the city is really fun.

I definitely want to return

Program: Dynamic Academic Semester: Study & Immerse in Buenos Aires

5

Hi, my name is Nam, I am from Vietnam but I am currently studying in the US at Bennington college. I did a semester abroad in Argentina, here in Buenos Aires. I found Mente Argentina from the internet and it has been four months of studying, living a whole new different experience. After four months I think that I’ve learned a lot not only about Argentina, but also about Latin America in general. The most important thing is that I have been able to think about who I am, about my country, and about what I want to do in the future, so that’s something that I value a lot. Buenos Aires is a very diverse city, and it’s really fun. The media and political scene is quite polemic so if you want to read the news you read from Página 12 but also Clarín to have a more balanced perspective. I feel like after four months my Spanish really improved, I made a lot of friends from all over the world. After four months what I really want to do now, moving forward, is to finish my last year in college in the US and then start my Masters degree after, but I definitely want to return to Latin America to see how my perspective will change.

Hi, I’m Nadja from Germany and I came to Buenos Aires for four months to do a semester abroad at the University of Belgrano. It was an amazing experience because you are able to meet so many new people. Especially when you are going with Mente, you will meet new people so easily because you are doing a lot of activities together and it’s really a nice experience and I’m sad that I have to leave now. It’s the best way to learn Spanish and get to meet new people.

My name is Maddison, I’m from Utah, and I did an internship with human rights through Mente Argentina and learned a whole bunch. I was forced, or rather encouraged to use my Spanish that I learned in high school. To build off of that, I met many new people, learned many new cultured from all over the world. I learned some street smarts, so that was very helpful. It was an overall a great program. I got to work with kids and elderly people. It was great!

May 07, 2018by: Katherine - United States

Program: Explore Buenos Aires Adventures: Tango, Wine, Cooking & More

5

My name is Katherine, I’m from Chicago, and I did the two-week intensive wine course here in Buenos Aires. I stayed in a homestay with a woman in Recoleta. I had another girl from Mente who was living with me so we got to explore the city together and have a great time. Every night I did wine tastings with Porteños where I learned a lot about Argentinian wines and how to taste wine in general. I also took one-on-one classes with a guy named Jorge where I learned a lot about the science of wine and got to do one-on-one tutoring lessons. The class schedule also gave me a lot of time to explore the city with other international travelers and locals. So I got to know Buenos Aires and have a lot of free time while also taking these really cool classes.

So it has been a really great opportunity to get started and begin my life here.

I really don’t think that you can go wrong with Mente Argentina

May 07, 2018by: Brigitte - Australia

Program: Explore Buenos Aires Adventures: Tango, Wine, Cooking & More

5

Hi, my name is Brigitte, I’m from Australia, and I’ve just completed a four-month program of learning tango with Mente Argentina. It has really been such an incredible, amazing experience, so I would just like to share a few things as to why I really recommend Mente Argentina. The reason I sought out the program in the first place when I wanted to study tango in Buenos Aires is because I wanted to stay in a private apartment and to organize that as a foreigner in Buenos Aires on your own, it is not an easy thing to do. Through the Mente program they find you accommodation according to what your preferences and needs are and find a perfect place for you. They made sure that my needs were met regarding my living space, and I’m really thankful for that. That enabled me to pursue my tango studies in a good headspace being that I felt comfortable and relaxed in my home environment. I had never studied tango before I came here, I had never danced tango before, so I really had no idea what it was all about. Now, having gone through four months of this process, I would say that it really is an incredible journey of self-discovery. If you feel that you’d like to learn tango, I really don’t think that you can go wrong with Mente Argentina. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about it to really come here and do it and learn at this school because not only is the tango process itself very beautiful and amazing, but all of the teachers at the school are not only dance teachers but also quite exceptional human beings. I am very thankful to both Mente Argentina and the tango school for supporting me on this journey during my four months and I look forward to continuing this journey in the future.

Program: Master Spanish in Buenos Aires: Comprehensive Immersion

My name is Brandon, I’m from the United States and I was doing the intensive Spanish program with Mente Argentina. It was a blast, Buenos Aires is awesome. There is so much to do and the Mente staff was awesome at coordinating events for us or reimbursing us for other activities- If we wanted to take a trip outside of Buenos Aires, they helped us plan that and they reimburse you for some of those events. The school that they set you up with is awesome, the teacher was fantastic, we learned so much Spanish, it is super personalized. I am super sad that my time is coming to an end, I had so much fun here in Buenos Aires. I would definitely recommend for anyone to do a program with Mente Argentina.

Program: Master Spanish in Buenos Aires: Comprehensive Immersion

5

Hi, my name is Allison and I came with Mente to do the intensive Spanish program for four weeks and it was an absolute blast from the moment that I was picked up from the airport. I got to stay with a local host mom and she was wonderful, too. There are tons of weekly activities that are planned for Mente student to do and all of them are already paid for as part of your program. I was really impressed with how much support I had from Mente, especially considering how affordable the program was. I thought that it would just be like a basic outline of a program with the staff there if I needed anything but they were really active in making sure that they were there for me every step of the way. I was really sad to leave but I am really happy that I went with Mente Argentina and I would highly recommend it for anyone who would like to spend a semester, or just a month in Buenos Aires.

Program: Master Spanish in Buenos Aires: Comprehensive Immersion

5

Hi, my name is Mona. I am from New Jersey, USA. I came here for a little bit over a week. I came mainly to study Spanish. I took a 5 day Spanish class through Mente between Christmas and New Years. I totally recommend that if you want to come to Buenos Aires that you stay for over two weeks, because now I’m sadly going back home. Also, I recommend that whatever you plan to do, to reach out to a Mente Argentina representative. They are very helpful and answered my questions really quickly via email or text. They had a lot of good ideas for me. They sent me a lot of good links, because if you are in a new country, you need someone to help you. I also liked this program because they were helpful with making appointments, the apartment was very convenient, very close, it was in walking distance of the subway station. And I love everything, I don't want to leave!

Hi my name is Danielle. I am from New York. I came to Buenos Aires for a medical internship. We did a lot of things with Mente, all of the activities they offered us. We went to the Bomba Del Tiempo, the Argentine experience, we went to polo, we went to happy hour, salsa & tango milonga, we also went to Tigre with the Mente Program. Separately we also went to Mendoza & Colonia in Uruguay too. It’s been a great trip. I’ve learned a lot about the Argentine culture & people. They are fabulous. Even our portero invited us to have a “parilla” and cooked for us. It was amazing...It was a really great experience here. And Mente Argentina did a really great job hooking us up with all the different opportunities.

April 24, 2018by: Megan - United States

Program: Mente Argentina: TESOL/TEFL Certification Program

5

Hi, my name is Megan. I’m from San Diego, California. I came here to do the TEFL Program with Mente, teaching English. My program was a month long but I actually lived here for 6 months teaching in companies. Mente placed me and my boyfriend in a private apartment here in Palermo, which is a great part of the city, in the center of everything. There’s bars and restaurants nearby. Mente was really great in working with me in my program – I actually had to make a few changes and dropped another program that I was doing and they accommodated me perfectly. There were no problems with what I needed personally. My favorite thing was all of the events – every week they would offer something different, so we got a chance to go to some cool shows, we went to museums, happy hour and really got to know the people that are here, so that was really cool. It was really scary planning for Argentina because we didn’t know what to expect, but Mente definitely made everything go really smoothly, they communicated with us really well, and I wouldn’t change this experience for anything, so thank you Mente and thank you Argentina!

Thank you Mente!

April 24, 2018by: Jarryd - United States

Hi, my name’s Jarryd and I came here with Mente Argentina. I did the 6-month intensive culinary program. It was an awesome program. I learned so much about cooking and now I’m going back with my certificate to San Diego, so it was awesome. Mente Argentina was more than accommodating with us for the whole 6 months. We had lots of questions when we came here, lots of things that we didn’t understand when we got here, and they were super supportive and made everything go super smooth. They put us in Palermo Soho, which is a really cool part of town with bars and restaurants all over the place, our apartment was really nice – we couldn’t have asked for more! Thank you Mente!

I would definitely recommend Mente

April 24, 2018by: Dustin - United States

Program: Diverse Graduate and Undergraduate Degrees in Buenos Aires

5

How’s it going? My name’s Dusty, I’m from Montana, USA. I did the Mente Master’s Program in International Relations at the University of Belgrano and I had a really great experience. I’ve been here for 16 months now and I’m about to leave. The program is all in Spanish, you have to do presentations and papers all in Spanish, which was difficult because my Spanish level wasn’t that great, but they work with you and help you learn as you go, and there’s a lot of help with the Mente coordinators and with the school as well. I had classes with ambassadors from Mexico and Nigeria and people from all over the world were in my classes, which was really cool. It really is an internationally-based school, which is great because now I have friends from all over the world. Also through the Mente program I met a lot of people from all over the world as well, and now I’m leaving here with a lot of friends that I’ll hopefully have for life because of this program. Make sure you go to the events and take advantage of the program because they really are a good pathway to get to know the city and to meet people who are doing the same things that you are. My apartment was awesome. Buenos Aires is a great city. You can do a lot of physical activity here, there are great parks, a lot of things to do for every type of person, if you like to go out at night, if you like to walk around – it’s really just a great place and the people are really nice and friendly. That was great, I felt welcomed here. I brought my dog and he had a great time and it was a great city to have a dog as well... they’re really dog-friendly and there are lots of parks for him as well. It was a really great program and I would definitely recommend Mente for anybody who wants to do their Masters or any other program because it’s a truly unique experience that you wouldn’t be able to get in the US.

Great experience

April 23, 2018by: Amara - Jamaica

Program: Mente Argentina: Ultra Intensive Spanish Program

5

Hi, I’m Amara. I’m from Jamaica and I came here to Buenos Aires in order to learn Spanish and at the beginning I didn’t know what I was going to do or how I was going to get into a university or any type of language school to learn Spanish. So one day I went on the internet and I was just looking and found Mente. So I looked through a couple of reviews and just signed up! ...it definitely wasn’t a mistake. The experiences that I’ve had here with Mente and through Mente have been extraordinary. The language school was magnificent – I did an 8-week intensive program and right now I can tell you that my Spanish is a lot better than it was before I got here. I did a lot of activities with Mente because in addition to the educational aspect they also ensure that you have a lot of fun while you’re here. So I would recommend that if you really want to learn Spanish in a fun and interesting way just join Mente!

I really would just recommend it to anyone

Hi guys, my name’s Andrea, I’m from Australia and I’ve been in Buenos Aires for 4 weeks with Mente. While I’ve been here I’ve been doing the Intensive Spanish Program, so Spanish every morning, as well as an internship, which has been three days a week. It’s been fantastic. I’ve loved my time here. The city is amazing, it’s just nonstop, doesn’t sleep, and the people are also so friendly and accommodating. I would recommend Buenos Aires to anyone who wants to have a great experience and meet awesome people. The program with Mente has been so organized and the staff have been great. I really would just recommend it to anyone.

It’s worth doing

April 23, 2018by: Sukhjeevan - United Kingdom

Program: Mente Argentina: Ultra Intensive Spanish Program

5

Hi my name is Sukhjeevan and I did the volunteer and Spanish program with Mente in Buenos Aires. I stayed in Palermo which is a really good place. The benefits of me staying there was it was right close to the prime place in Palermo called Plaza Serrano which has lots of bars, pubs, restaurants, loads of choice, and you’re not far from anything. I would say location wise, it was perfect. We were really close to the center, the obelisk, all of the main tourists sites but also close to bars and pubs. The residence itself was very family oriented, very safe, the people there are lovely, really welcoming, they really look after you and make sure that you’re fed, safe and happy. I met a lot of people in the residence from South America, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia literally everywhere. I paid for six weeks of Spanish and ended up doing individual lessons, which really helped a lot. I came here with almost no Spanish and am leaving with definitely better Spanish. The Spanish school is absolutely excellent. They really invested a lot of time in the students. The teachers are really friendly. I like the fact that the lessons weren’t done in English. Everything is done in Spanish. You learn a lot of phrases, and words, and the style of speaking. I would definitely recommend it. Definitely recommend the program, it’s worth doing.

I would highly recommend the course!

April 23, 2018by: Callum - Australia

Program: Mente Argentina: Culinary Arts Internship

5

Hi, my name’s Callum and I’m from Australia. I did the Intensive Culinary course, which was about five months long, so you go in and start from the very bottom and get trained to do everything from baking, desserts, fresh pastas, fresh sauces, and then towards the end you start putting together some pretty good meals. So I would highly recommend the course to anyone who – even if they don’t want to work in food, I would highly recommend it – because a) it’s taught in Spanish and it’s fantastic for your Spanish, and b) learning cuisine is a really good way to get an insight into a country, and you’ll be learning with other Argentineans, all the teachers are Argentine. So I would highly recommend the course!

Great experience

My name is Jesse Kuykendall and I’m from Alberta, Canada. I came here with Mente to take photography lessons. I had a great time – the Mente group was awesome as far as helping out with any questions that I had, any directions, it was very stress-free. Everything was taken care of as far as routes, directions, getting money exchanged, any questions that I had throughout the course of my stay here were answered promptly and I had no issues with that whatsoever. Buenos Aires is a beautiful place, I highly recommend it. I highly recommend coming abroad with Mente overall – it was a great, great experience.

Thank you!

April 20, 2018by: Julien - Canada

Program: Mente Argentina: Ultra Intensive Spanish Program

5

Hi, my name is Julien. I’m from Canada and I was in Buenos Aires for 7 weeks for the intensive Spanish classes. I lived here in an apartment, which I would recommend to everyone because you get to live with other foreigners, you get to party with them, go out, and it’s easier to know the city because they’ve been here for a while. Also, I think living in an apartment is a great way to live like an Argentinean; you get to take the bus or the subway like they do, so I’d definitely recommend an apartment. Lastly, Buenos Aires in general is great, it’s a safe city, there’s good food, food is cheap, it’s a good place to go out, and people in general are really nice. So I would definitely recommend the city. Thank you!

I highly recommend it

Hey! My name’s Brianna and I’m from the United States, the state of Georgia. I spent a month over here doing the Intensive Advanced Spanish Program at the University of Belgrano and it was definitely pretty intensive but I had a good time with my classmates, and Buenos Aires is a great city. There are a lot of things to do and see – I was busy every weekend!

I would definitely recommend them!

Program: Mente Argentina: Ultra Intensive Spanish Program

5

Hi, I’m from the United States and I did an 8-week program here with Mente Argentina doing Spanish and a little volunteering. I lived in a private apartment for the first four weeks and then moved into a homestay for the last four weeks, which I thought was a good mix of some independence and then also practicing my Spanish more. I did the Intensive Spanish Program, which was great, but I preferred when I switched into the private lessons, so that’s definitely something I would recommend. The volunteering was great also – it was a great way to practice my Spanish and to get to know a different part of the city and more people. Overall, it was a great experience and I really liked it. Definitely put me outside of my comfort zone and I learned a lot and Mente was a great help – I would definitely recommend them!

I really recommend it

Hi, I’m Sara Trimble. I came to Argentina to do an internship with Mente Argentina. I absolutely loved it – so much that I extended my stay for another week. I wish I could extend it for a couple months. I absolutely loved it, met people from all around the world, spoke a lot of Spanish, spoke a lot of British English which was different too, and I really recommend it!

I loved it!

Program: Mente Argentina: Yoga Program in Buenos Aires

5

Hi, my name is Liz Brown, from Raleigh North Carolina, and I was here with Mente Argentina for 2 months doing the yoga program. I had a wonderful time! I would say my favorite thing that Mente brought to me was all of the friends that I made. When you come to a new city like this, you don’t know anyone, but it’s really wonderful to meet people who are doing sort of similar things to me and all were super down to explore the city and do good things and practice Spanish, so that was pretty incredible. I think the city itself is such a wonderful place to explore – it’s such a mix of different things, at times it feels like New York, at times it feels like Paris, at times it feels like you’re in the middle of South America because you are, and it was a great opportunity to learn about living in a big city while also getting used to a different culture and learning a language. I loved it!

Amazing adventures

Program: Mente Argentina: Medical/Public Health Volunteer Program

5

Hi, my name is Matty Mouton Johnson, I go to Boston College and I’m here with the Mente Spanish program and am also volunteering in a hospital. My favorite part about Mente has just been the community I’ve had since I’ve been here, getting to know the administrators at Mente in addition to all the students and all of the people who come through Mente has been incredible, there are about two private activities every week and all of them are really fun, whether that’s this past week when we went to have a snack together at one of the famous cafés and last week we went to Fuerza Bruta, which is an incredible performance show. So I think the community has just been integral, having that here, being able to go back to my host family, having a wonderful host family – they’re so loving and they’ve really helped me with my Spanish. And then the other people that I’ve met here, and being able to travel around Argentina with them, feeling comfortable with that, having a lot of amazing adventures, and exploring the city, has all been great, so that’s been my favorite part about Mente.

Awesome

Program: Mente Argentina: Cooking Program +Optional Spanish Classes

5

My name’s Lorenzo. I came out here for the cooking program which was awesome. I went on a couple of tours – the graffiti tour is a good one to go on, also the La Boca tour, because you experience tango dancing and things like that. The weather is getting better – it’s winter now but a good time to come is summer or really anytime. Mente is a good program – they make sure you get everything you need, their apartments are nice. I can say I had a good experience. I’ve been out here for a month and it was a good program I chose, I’d come back again if I had the chance to.

Come down and try it yourselves!

I had awesome roommates and I had an awesome time in Argentina. So I recommend for you guys to come down and try it yourselves!

Hello, I’m Nico, I’m from Switzerland and I’m 26 years old. I was studying here for one semester at UCA, the Unversidad Catolica de Argentina, and I have to say I had such a good time here in this half a year. I got to know so many new people, from Argentina as well as international students and it’s so sad to leave this place now because I really have to say that I got used to many things here that and I really love to live here in this beautiful city and it was so good also to come here with Mente because you know that when you come here you have an apartment, you know that everything works out at the university and the Spanish school, so when I look back I really would do it exactly the same and I really just recommend this city and this organization and it was awesome, so come here and enjoy it!

It’s a very cool program!

April 18, 2018by: Kalina - United States

Program: Mente Argentina: Photography Program +Optional Spanish Class

5

Hi, my name’s Kalina and I’m a college student from California. I’m doing two months here with Mente Argentina, doing the Intensive Spanish program and the Photography program. I’ve really enjoyed both of the programs - my Spanish has improved a lot since I got here. At first it was hard to understand the Argentinean accent, but you’ll get it quick! The photography program’s amazing - I ended up doing a project copying the work of Coppola who was a street photographer in Buenos Aires in the 1930s and it was a really good way to get to know the city and travel around, know more places and history. Mente has really good activities for students - I made a lot of friends going to their different activities and it’s really nice that they have them multiple times a week. It’s a very cool program!

Buenos Aires

Program: Mente Argentina: MA Spanish School Program

Mente Argentina was amazing! I originally selected this program because of how cheap it was, but I soon found out that I had not only chosen the most affordable program in Buenos Aires, but also the absolute best program in Buenos Aires! Right off the bat they make you feel welcome with a fantastic orientation and tons of events in Buenos Aires. Then they set you up with an amazing Spanish school that is extremely personalized and has even more weekly events that you can participate in. Not for a minute were we bored in Buenos Aires and the staff was super friendly and supportive throughout the whole way. I learned so much Spanish and had a fantastic time while doing it! My experience surely would not have been as amazing without Mente... thank you Mente Staff!

Public health hospital de clinicas

Program: Mente Argentina: Medical/Public Health Volunteer Program

I had a really good time in Buenos Aires for the month. The accommodation was perfect, Maria was so welcoming and friendly to live with. The Intensive Spanish lessons were good, however I would of preferred group lessons instead of private lessons. Marlene at the school was really helpful and organised my lessons around my schedule which was great. She also made sure i was with a teacher that suited me so that was really nice as well! My volunteer experience at Hospital de Clinicas was interesting however extremely disorganised. I often felt like my time was being wasted as Mercedes did not organise where we were meant to be going or what we were doing whilst I was there. At the orientation she mentioned that we would be moving around the different departments however it wasn't until we really pushed her and asked her multiple times that we got anywhere. For the first week I spent the entire time colouring in with children. The second week we spent a lot of time walking around, lost because we were given no direction as to where and what exactly we were meant to be going and doing. Towards the end I was able to meet some Medical students and really understand the structure of the hospital. The Medical students were really great to be with though, they all spoke perfect english and asked if i wanted to sit in on the ultrasounds they were doing for the Aortic Aneurism testing. Overall I had a great experience though. I really enjoyed all of the Mente events and it made it really easy to meet friends and integrate into the city easily.

Everything is great

Program: Mente Argentina: Bartending Program + Optional Spanish Class

5

Hi, my name is Simon and I’m from Hong Kong. I took a 4 week program with Mente here in Buenos Aires and during these 4 weeks I did Spanish classes, Wine and Barman Program. The wine and barman were so much fun as I learned on how to mix different cocktails and a little bit of flaring and creating our own drinks. In the wine program I learned a lot about Malbec and the wine industry. I learned a lot with the Mente activities and it’s amazing here in Buenos Aires, the culture, the people and the wine, the food, everything is great... so, enjoy!

Its fantastic!

August 19, 2016by: Sydney - United States

Program: Mente Argentina: Wine Program + Optional Spanish

5

My name is Sydney and I come from Southern California. I came to Mente to do a two month wine program, I actually started off for one month but I loved it so much that I extended the program. I loved my teacher George. I loved having my private classes in English and the regular classes in Spanish which was a really great way to practice my Spanish in wine tasting class. I ended up going for a week to Mendoza, which is the wine taste center of Argentina and I went with friends I met through Mente, we had the most amazing times. I lived in the residency in Palermo, I couldn’t have picked a better location for my two months, I loved the people in my residency from all around the world. I improved my Spanish and loved my living situation. I did a lot of Mente Activities, they are all different and fun in their own way. I love that you can always find something to do. I got to see a lot of museums; you can always find something completely different to do. You can spend here six months and still haven’t seen anything. I loved Mente, my main concern before coming was the feeling of feeling alone and I was worried I would get lost in the city. Mente is always there to help you if you need anything, so it was good to know you had someone to call even for the smallest things. They always know the best places to do and best places to go for help. You have to try Malbec, its fantastic!

I totally recommend coming here

Hi I am Amelie and I am from Montreal, Canada. I did the Tango Program with Mente Argentina and I really enjoyed the private lessons. I felt I learned a lot from my teachers, and they were also very cute. When I go back to Montreal I will continue to practice Tango. I really liked the accommodation, it was a very big apartment, big bedroom and I got along with my roommates. I enjoyed going out to Milongas and discovering Buenos Aires. I always liked big cities, and I find that Buenos Aires is a lot like Montreal but with a Spanish twist. I totally recommend coming here.

Hi, I am Stephani, I came to Buenos Aires for 3 weeks with Mente Argentina. I did the Wine course for two weeks and had the one to one lessons of Spanish. I loved the wine course; it was in this tiny cute school which is in a nice neighborhood. They took really good care of me. The wine tasting classes were really fun, we tried wines from all over Mendoza and the Salta region. Then I got private lessons where I got to know about the wines, the grapes all that jazz. I lived in Palermo in a private apartment, which was really nice. A lot of light, I enjoyed my stay a lot. I suggest everyone to come with Mente Argentina.

Program: Mente Argentina: DJ Program (+Optional Spanish Classes)

5

Hi, my name is Hugh and I am from Australia and I did a month’s program here with Mente Argentina in Buenos Aires. I did the DJ program and the Spanish program and basically both were very good. The DJ program was really professional, I never done it before, so it was good to learn from an awesome DJ. The teachers were amazing. The Spanish program was also good, I had a basic Spanish before I arrived, but going to Spanish lessons every day actually improved my Spanish and I am more comfortable now. I also lived at a student residence with other international students in the best area of Palermo which was really fun because even though I was studying it was great to have a few buddies, specially around Palermo where there’s so much to see around at night. The programs were great, I definitely recommend.

Hi, I am Meghan and I did the photography program with Mente. My accommodation was in a really nice location, all the people were awesome. With my photography program, my professor was really helpful, interesting and professional, he helped me organize everything. Every Monday we did history and theories, and then every Wednesday we went to different neighborhoods and took pictures and then Friday, we edited the pictures, it was really nice, I learned a lot. My favorite activities here were La Bomba and visiting each and every neighborhood as them all have they own special thing about them, so that was really great. I went to Tigre which was great! Buenos Aires is a beautiful city, theres parks, museums, art around the city and there’s always something different to do. Live music, gatherings, etc.. I would definitely recommend coming with Mente, everything was amazing.

5

Hi my name is Allison and I am from Korea but I study in the US. I did a Semester Abroad here at the University of Belgrano and I had a great time. My semester was great, I met a lof of friends through my program. My classes were actually related to my major which is anthropology and music. Mente did helped me a lot because before coming here I was really scared that everything would go wrong and that my Spanish was not good enough. But Mente provided a good transition for me and all my worries went away very smoothly. It was really really great to have a go to person in a foreign country where you don’t know anyone. I met some really great roomates along my stay and through them I met other friends that really made us so much more exciting to be in Buenos Aires. Another highlight with Mente were all these tours that we get offered during the weekends. I really enjoyed them as I got to learn much from them, not only did I get to see the touristy stuff but the guide was excellent at hitting spot! Now I bump into him in the street and it’s like we are friends. Buenos Aires is great, Argentina is great so you should definitely come visit.

I go to school in the United States and I came to Buenos Aires to do the Summer Spanish Program and I did it through the University of Buenos Aires and I really love my classes. My teacher, my classmates were so much fun every day, I really enjoyed going to class, I learned a lot and my Spanish improved. I love the city of Buenos Aires, I have been here before and I wanted to come back, and I am happy that I did and it was with Mente. Buenos Aires has so many things to do and having all the different barrios, just like going to one and then to the one next to it and the vibe is completely different, and I was able to enjoy that, and who knows? I might come back soon!

Program: International Internship Programs by Mente Argentina

5

Hi my name is Shaun, and I come from Pennsylvania and I study finance and management. The program I did here was SageCorps. I applied and I was fortunate to get accepted and I was paired up with an internship at a technology start up. I was given a lot of tasks mainly with my field a lot involving finance and management but some others were helpful to broaden up my expertise such as marketing. Mente was great at always being there for whatever you need, for example, I didn’t know a word of Spanish! They were always helping and it never felt like they were doing a routine, they do take the time to accommodate your requests and they were always great at making sure you were having a good time. I did a side trip to Mendoza and I highly recommend traveling in Argentina and having Mente as your host.

August 19, 2016by: Kirani - Australia

Program: Mente Argentina: Ultra Intensive Spanish Program

5

Hi, I’m Kirani, and I am Australian. I came to Buenos Aires two months ago to study Spanish and to check out the city to see if I wanted to stay here to live. My teachers were amazing, so interesting, such cool people and it was great that I made friends at school. I love Buenos Aires, there is always something to do, if you want to go out at 2 am on a Sunday, you can do that! At the same time there is a laid back vibe so you can always feel at ease here. Mente has been great in the whole thing because they always had people around that if you screwed up something or if you get lost, you can always talk to someone about it. It was really great to have them there as a backup. It was truly great, I recommend it for anyone that wants to get out of their country for a while.

Other than the internship which was every day, I still managed to go to Iguazu Falls with Mente Argentina and I got to meet a lot of students from all over the world. Besides the internship and travelling, I did a bunch of tours of Recoleta, San Telmo and went to some events like Bomba del Tiempo and they were all for free through Mente. Buenos Aires is a really fun city to be, there is always something to do and to explore. They helped me with the visa process which is a long set of steps being back and forth but I finally got my visa and they were always there to help me with that and that was great. Buenos Aires is a great city.

August 18, 2016by: Jerry - United States

Program: Mente Argentina: Cooking Program +Optional Spanish Classes

5

My name is Jerry and I was in Buenos Aires for five months in addition of two months studying Spanish. I came here with very little of the language and that was what I wanted, part of the challenge. Fortunately with Mente I had great help into getting acquainted with the city, like organizing the program and making the whole process a lot easier. I cannot imagine doing that without someone here helping me, it would have been ridiculous. I recommend to everyone to having the opportunity to learn what I learned here in a very economical price compared to the United States or anywhere else in the world. It was a great experience; Buenos Aires is a beautiful place.

August 18, 2016by: Scott - United States

Program: Mente Argentina: Summer Spanish Program + Tango, Photography

5

If you are considering Mente Argentina, I highly recommend it, as I had a great experience here. I had experience in Argentina before this program, so I came with a lot of expectations and I wasn’t disappointed. I really liked the excursions, because they were a social time, but also they were opportunities to see Argentina as we were locals, because when you live in a place you have a completely different experience than by visiting for a weekend or something like that. I highly recommend that you leave all your expectations back home and that you bring your eyes and heart open for the food, the wine, the people, speaking Castellano, speaking Lunfardo, all the gestures and everything, the people working here were fantastic, so I highly recommend that you come through Mente Argentina. Que tengan suerte y felicidades

Overall I had a great experience

August 18, 2016by: Brad - United States

Program: Explore Buenos Aires Adventures: Tango, Wine, Cooking & More

5

Hi, I am Brad from Denver, Colorado and I did the Intensive Spanish Program and the Cooking Program, at the Culinary School and also in one-on-one lessons with a chef. She was fantastic, she gave me all the classic recipes from Argentinian cuisine, from empanadas to pastas to steaks to desserts, everything. All the ingredients were always ready for us, they gave us lots of helpful tips on how to tweak the recipes a little bit. We had so much fun together, not only cooking, but I also made a lot of long term friends and we interchanged tips between ourselves and we made delicious food. The Spanish program was also great, I took some classes back in the States, but here, the classes were better. They were small, but we learned a lot of Spanish because they were about 4 hours. You earn a lot and they always helped you in any questions, and I got a huge improvement in just one month. Overall I had a great experience with Mente and all the activities they provided us, at night or during the weekends were so much fun and just a great way to see the city, so definitely do that.

Hi my name is Morgan, and I am from San Francisco California. I came to do a Semester Abroad at the Universidad de Belgrano. One thing that Mente did that was great that really surprised me is that they were always involved, always around, there was always something to do every week. I was able to ask them stuff that I needed for the kitchen for example, and they were always communicative and willing to solve any small issues, I think that was the best parts of Mente is that when you come to a new country is always hard and it’s super nice to have someone find you an apartment and basically apply everything for you and that made the process so much easier and so rewarding.

It was a lot of fun

Hi, I am Tiereny and I am from England, I came here through Mente to Spanish and Tango classes and they were amazing. I have improved so much during my three months here, and I actually extended my stay for an extra month because I enjoyed it so much. I have done so many things here, from general culture to partying. I have met loads of people from all over the world, which is pretty amazing. Tango is probably my favorite thing, it was nice to do that in the place it was born so it was a lot of fun. There are so many things to do here during the Summer time because it is Winter back home, so it was a nice break from the cold. I did a lot of outdoor events, parties, museums, and I did some traveling in Argentina, and I will be off to explore a little of Patagonia, and I am very excited about that.

Everything was so great

Hi, I am Langley, from Boston Massachusetts and I came to do a 2-week Spanish and Photography program with Mente. I stayed with a host family and I really loved the city here and my experience with Mente. Everything was so great and Argentines seems to be very friendly all the time. I definitely recommend, I had so much fun and I wishes I could have stay longer in Buenos Aires.

I truly recommend it

Program: Mente Argentina: Tango Program + Optional Spanish Classes

5

I was in Buenos Aires for a month and it was amazing. I did a private apartment accommodation and it was perfect for me. It was the perfect size for me. I came with the Tango program for 4 weeks and my instructors were amazing. The program instructor was a very passionate woman who loved teaching. I worked with a few several instructors and they emanate love and light in all of their classes. They offer private, group classes, and all of them were very helpful. I could definitely feel an improvement at the end of the month, in terms of my posture, my movement. Part of the part I came here was to immerse myself in the culture and lots of the programs associated with Mente helped make that possible, like the historical tours that taught me a lot of history about the city and its people. I wish I went more often to the conversational clubs. Just getting around the city I feel really excited on how my Spanish has improved and my level of confidence, vocabulary and being satisfied by being able to communicate, I feel blown away. I stepped out of my shell and so many people here opened their heart to me. Having Mente as a base to launch and reaching out to the true soul of Tango was magnificent, I truly recommend it.

A beautiful place that changed my life

Hi I am Kathryn, I participated in the Intensive Summer Program and the Semester Program with Mente Argentina. My favorite thing about my trip abroad I think, no matter where you go, is always the people that you meet. Mente really helped me to get connected with lots interesting people through outside activities and the other people in the program as well. The city is so open and vibrant to foreigners, there is always something that you can do to explore the culture here. One of my favorite activities here was Mundo Lingo, and that’s where people met two or three times a week where people really just wanted to speak different languages, have fun, and learn different cultures and I had made so many long lasting friendships. I am so sad that I had to leave this beautiful place that changed my life. I cannot wait to be back, whenever that’s going to be.

I will miss it a lot!

My name is Matthew, and I am from the UK. I did a semester at the Universidad de Belgrano followed by 6 weeks of an internship. I had a really good time in Argentina. I’ve done a lot of things, I love Buenos Aires, and I got to travel to Patagonia, Mendoza, Iguazú, I even traveled in Brazil. This is a really good place to be situated in South America, and you still get to enjoy a city lifestyle. I will miss it a lot.

Hi, my name is Steven and I come from the United States of America. I came here to enroll in the Intensive Spanish Program through Mente Argentina and it went really well. The school is very nice, the professors were super friendly, humble and attentive to us. I lived in a shared apartment with three other people, and all my roommates were super nice. Also all the things we did through the Mente activities were super fun and I got to meet people like me that were in town. The city itself was incredibly friendly, from taxi drivers to people at restaurants, going to bars and clubs, it was very easy to get along with other people. I just want to say thank you for all the things this program offered me and all the people I met and created memories with. It was incredibly nice and I couldn’t have asked for anything more, good luck to you!

Hello, I am Felizia from Switzerland, I was here for 8 weeks for language school learning Spanish. I had so much fun during my 2 months here, I did so many things that were new for me and were amazing. I came here with no Spanish at all and even though it was on a very short notice that I wanted to do this program, everything worked out fine and I am very thankful to Mente Argentina for organizing everything. My room, my classes, and everything else went very smooth. What also was very awesome was being able to meet all these people from all over the world because of Mente Argentina as they did all these gatherings that brought us together. Argentina is so fun, you eat so well here and I hope you enjoy your stay if you are coming here too

We loved the experience

Hi I am Katie from Washington D.C. and I am here in Buenos Aires doing the Mente Argentina’s Intensive Spanish Program. I am Avital from New York and doing the same program as her. It’s been a lot of fun, I was level 1 and I learned a lot of Spanish in two weeks. I was in level 3 and I had a really nice time, meeting really nice people in the program and walking around Buenos Aires, discovering all the sites. Two weeks and it’s been very wonderful, we think we have seen everything as we planned all our counted days, so overall it was a great 2 weeks, we loved the experience.

It was a very comfortable stay

Program: Mente Argentina: Ultra Intensive Spanish Program

5

Hi, I am Barbara, 24 years old and I come from Lisbon Portugal. I was here in Buenos Aires doing the Spanish Intensive Program for a month. It was very useful to come here with Mente Argentina because I was coming all by myself, and I really wanted to have an experience in South America so I started searching for program and this was the only one I felt comfortable going with. From the first day I got here, I arrived at the student residence and I was living with 15 people, so I had friend from the first hour. It was a very comfortable stay. Also, in the organization everything was already organized before I got here, so I had all the details really well set up. And when I got here, I started taking classes and they were great, and overall Buenos Aires’s dynamics is awesome. So in a month of being here I still have a lot of things to see, but I tried to do the best out of my time here and also the Mente Events were great and helpful to get to know the city. I would definitely recommend for someone who wants a valuable experience in a foreign country in a very organized way.

Hello, my name is Leanne and I am from New York. I just finished a four week program with Mente Argentina. What I love about Buenos Aires is that it is at the center of Argentina. I love Buenos Aires and language school was at the center of the city. I was able to accomplish my goal, which was to do Spanish courses and during the weekend I was able to travel. Everything was very exciting. I loved my accommodation, I had a wonderful view of the city which was by Plaza Italia, and everything was walking distance in Palermo. I enjoyed Mente Activities, the city has a lot to offer which is great.

I definitely recommend it to anyone who wishes to either learn a new language or to come here to learn about the culture of Tango, especially the Tango Program, I fell in love with it! The instructors were amazing and I loved going to Milongas at night to dance even more as there are plenty of opportunities to dance and meet new people. Mente really takes care of you. So for anyone that is considering going, you should really do it because it’s one in a life experience.

Hi, I am Paige from California, and I did a Semester Abroad with Mente Argentina, and it was a great experience. For the last five months I was here studying at Belgrano University taking Spanish and other courses. I was taking a program with foreigners at Belgrano so it was easy to make friends and some of my classes were in English others in Spanish so it was changeling enough but still it gave me a lot of time to explore the city and I really enjoyed my classes. My Spanish improved tremendously through this program. One thing I liked about Mente was how affordable it was, and being a small program they really catered to my needs, and were very helpful as they gave me everything I needed from my home university, they were able to get everything signed, it was really helpful to get all these things down in that stressful time of wanting to go abroad. Mente does these little activities like happy hours, different tours with us, and they were helpful when I first got here and I didn’t know anyone and didn’t know the city. I stayed in a shared apartment, and it was great, I loved it. But, when I wanted to move to a home stay because I wanted to speak more Spanish, Mente was really helpful and Mente got me into a home stay within a week and I thought that was great that they just really accommodated me into a home stay in a week, that really stood up about Mente. Other than that, I really love Buenos Aires, I made a lot of friends here, I did language exchanges with people from here and I met a lot of people doing that. I took a watercolor class on my own and I took some trips and that was really easy to do. I had a great time I really recommend Mente.

Everything was very fun

We have been here for five months and we all came to study different things. I studied visual arts at UNA,and Nina studied Social Science in UB. The three of us lived together in an apartment that Mente got for us which was really nice, and it was fun living together the three of us, learning how to survive with other people in a huge city with a different language. In the Mente Activities we went to Tigre, happy hours, Tango classes, etc, and everything was very fun, we will definitely want to come back in the future.

The city is everything you would ever want, you can explore the city every day and you will always find a new place. The people are very nice, and helpful and open and you will always get to meet many people here. Mente Argentina helped me a lot, they picked me up from the airport, orientated me about Buenos Aires and my academic program and told me everything I needed to know. I always felt very comfortable with them.

It has been a really really great experience.

August 16, 2016by: Campbell - United States

Program: Dynamic Academic Semester: Study & Immerse in Buenos Aires

5

Hi, my name is Campbell and I from Minnesota but I attend University of Kansas. I chose Mente Argentina and I kinda stumbled by it on accident, and I am glad that I chose it because by far it is the best program I could have done. It is more for people who are looking for more independence, I didn’t wanted to be in a program that was big hears of students being shuttled around, I didn’t wanted to be treated like a kid, I wanted more independence. I love Mente because most of the people who work there really treat you like adults, so you are given all the activities to do if you want to go, and that helps with giving you more independence. We had happy hours, and they always were really involved, is not like they set you off for an activity, they are with you. As for Argentina, I chose it because I wanted something inside America but with an European influence. The only negative thing that I was worried about was that you can’t travel as much as one would do in Europe because there are so many different cultures and they are so close to each other but I was so wrong. I was there for a full year with Mente and I have done so much traveling. Not only does Mente give you opportunities of travel because they are the hookups for all these deals that otherwise would be hard to find and they are super helpful, but you can also do a lot of traveling on your own. I went to Chile, Uruguay, and Brazil and I traveled within Argentina and I absolutely loved it. I have been up in the mountains, glacier cities, and everywhere you can imagine! Everything was amazing and Mente has helped me with all these stuff. I recommend Argentina because in Buenos Aires you get a lot, and I was debating about which city, but I know I chose the right one... Buenos Aires has it all; it has been a really really great experience.

This is really the place to go

Program: Dynamic Academic Semester: Study & Immerse in Buenos Aires

5

Hello my name is April and I am from St. Petersburg, Florida and I arrive in Buenos Aires in late February. I came to study a semester abroad from about February to July in Universidad Austral. It is a really cool school, the advisors are a lot of help as it is a small school. If you are coming and you don’t know what to choose, if you want something smaller, this is really the place to go. The classes are smaller so I got to know my professors on a personal level, I go to University of Florida which is huge, so it was nice to have teachers that learned my name. Travel wise, I have been to Mar del Plata, Mendoza, Bariloche, Santiago and Valparaíso in Chile. I really love downtown especially when it lights up at night around the Obelisk, and there it kinda reminds me of Times Square in New York, and I love how bright it is, all people walking around. I actually love Buenos Aires public transportation, I have a car back home and I enjoy driving, but is nice to have an easy system that keeps you moving, and it is cheap. Finding your way in Buenos Aires can be tricky at first, but you will blend right in after a couple of weeks, I love BA.

Hello everyone, my name is Olivia, I am a Junior at Bennington College in Vermont and I am from San Francisco California, USA. I have been here for 4 months doing my Semester Abroad Program in UNA, Universidad de las Artes, doing dance and contemporary ballet classes. I am also doing oil paintings and drawing classes. I took extension courses, with mostly Argentineans, so it was great to practice my Spanish 24/7. The Mente Events that happens every week, the coordinator was so much fun, we had a blast. That has been so enjoyable, seeing stuff with a group of people. I really enjoyed my experience. I have lived in cities and rural areas, but Buenos Aires is so huge, such a shock. There’s always something to do, the city has always something happening, people here go dance, to the theater, museums, and coffee breaks. That’s has been so enjoyable, having a group of people to have fun with, everybody came here with the same purpose, to study while falling in love with this beautiful city.

Program: Mente Argentina: Volunteer with Street Kids in Buenos Aires

5

Hi, I’m Laura and I’m 18 years old. I came here to volunteer with Mente Argentina for two and a half weeks. I basically all these kids were coming off the streets, we would feed them and give them clothes. And during the school year they would have classes. These kids have been on the streets forever, one of them was on the street when he was 10 years old. All of them have a different story, it was truly eye opening hearing them all. Apart from that, Mente Argentina gave me a lot of opportunities to go on city tours, and other activities like Mundo Lingo, etc. You just go out and meet people from around the world. I love Buenos Aires and there’s so much to do. I love the culture here and basically wherever you turn, you will find something new, such as Tango culture, food, etc. There’s so much history behind everything.

Hi, I’m Amanda and I am with the Mente Argentina Volunteer Program. It was a great program because my best friend from home and I wanted to come to Argentina and volunteer and practice our Spanish speaking skills. Mente was great because they set us up to work at a hospital to volunteer in were we got to practice Spanish and interact with kids and overall amazing people and through Mente we got to meet even more people, they had a lot of excursions and social activities planned for us to not feel alone here and It was just an amazing experience. I loved the people, the culture, the food, the shopping here, the subte how can you get anywhere on the subway or the bus for nothing. Our host family was awesome; they were great at finding us the perfect match. I’m sad to leave.

I actually love Mente. If I can talk about my favorite things here, they were my home stay. If you have the opportunity to live with a home stay, definitely do because mine totally changed my live. My sisters felt like actual sisters and my host mom was like an actual mom. I got to work with her at the hospital volunteering twice a week. We actually meet and sit down with patient / doctor action and I also got to work with the kids. My second favorite thing about Mente was how awesome they are about the excursions and trips that you can go on, you get to hang out with this cool people and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

My name is Mitchell and I am from Chicago. I came here to volunteer in a hospital. What I enjoyed the most during my experience here were my Spanish classes, I really liked them. I had a really fun and energetic teacher, I really liked that they connected with students and I liked how I was able to connect the hospital with my Spanish classes . I really felt like I was utilizing what I was learning at Spanish in the hospital as no one spoke English there. That was a challenge in the beginning but I overcame it and I am really grateful for that. I’m also grateful for the organized events that Mente and I also loved my family,I had the best host mom and host sister, they were so funny and open. I definitely felt at home from the first day and I loved it here.

Hello my name is Hadley, and I did the University Spanish Program at UBA, which was probably my best decision ever, because it’s definitely the best cool. What I probably liked the most about my experience was living in the Student Resident, it was so great because every night we would have dinner together and literally it would be 20 of us sitting around the table and our momma would cook for all of us, I guess it was a lot of food, but she was great. We would hang together and tell our days, laugh, and thank our company every day. I highly recommend living at the residence, it was amazing.

I am from Kentucky, USA, and I came to Buenos Aires through Mente Argentina because it was highly recommended by my advisors at my school, and I am super happy I did it. During the two months that I was there volunteering, they connected with me the whole way. There are always events you can go to on their Facebook website and they are always more than happy to answer all the questions that you have. I volunteered because more than anything I wanted to practice the language, Castellano and I already spoke Spanish pretty well. The volunteering program was also super awesome because I was able to work with kids and people from the outside of everyday Buenos Aires city life, so I was able to see a completely different side of the city that usually you wouldn’t be able to see. I am very happy I came through Mente; they got me through in every step of the way. I got to know multiple areas inside Buenos Aires and todos son buena onda.

So, as soon as you get off the plane, Mente Argentina is involved, they picked you up, they give you a ride back and basically during your entire time they take you to events and stuff that you’ll be interested in such as tours and they are great at giving you suggestion with restaurants and stuff like that. I stayed at the residence with a host mom and roughly other 12 other American students. It was amazing food and there were always people to hang around with, so Mente was really great, I made a lot of friends and I felt like home here

Hi, I’m Louise and I did the University Spanish Program with Mente for a month. I am glad that I did it with Mente because being here only for a month would have been very overwhelming having to find an apartment and a phone, and how to figure out how to get from the airport, so it was great to have somebody else take care of those details. Mente has a lot of social events in which I met tons of fun people and they organize and are included in the program. It was a great way to not be lonely here; every dime spent was used very well. I really encourage everyone to join Mente because I really enjoyed my time here.

I’m Michael and I did the Mente’s Spanish Study Abroad Program and It was great. I lived in a great apartment, a great city for future participants. Try to get out there because it’s easy to be in the American or foreigners circle, but meeting locals and practicing my Spanish with Porteños was great. Polo and Soccer here are the best, so they were really cool to experience. The city itself is huge, don’t take it all at once, there’s so much to do, and I have to say the Spanish lessons were great and they definitely improved my Spanish in many different ways. I absolutely recommend the program to everyone!

Hi, my name is Daniella; I’m from Maryland in the USA. I came here for the five week volunteered program with street children; it was definitely an experience that I would never forget. I never seen that much poverty in the United States, that face on, and it will break down any conception you have when you see these children and teenagers living on the streets. You’ll get to see them as your friends and not just another face at the stairwell, so that went super well for me, I grew a lot personally. I stayed in Palermo and I definitely felt relaxed to come home at night, I love the sound of the city on how people were always walking around. I love my apartment, I had my own place which was great not to share such as in a college dorm. Buenos Aires is something you have to experience on your own, you can’t be afraid you have to try things for yourself. I made tons of friends and I knew no words of Spanish, you just have to go out, not just Mente, which is fantastic, but it’s something that you have to figure out. If anything, you have to be grateful that you are growing as a person because of it. If you just rely the tour sides you are not going to have the true best experience that you can have. I love the nightlife but you get to see the real people, and it was hands down the best experience I had.

Everything was organized for me when I arrived. I met so many people, you are never here alone as I talked to everybody and made lots of friends. I got to travel in Argentina and Brazil and nothing ever happened, it is completely safe, I really enjoyed the time here. I am very happy I came here with Mente, I never met an organization likes this before. I didn’t have to do anything. They organized my phone, a subway card, how to move around, they introduced me to my first friends, and Spanish classes were extremely helpful. I am about to leave and I am very sad, but I know I will be coming back. Thank you Mente.

Hola, I am Mika from Syndey, Australia. I was with Mente Argentina for a month, and I did a volunteer program. I worked at the villas and looked after the children while the mothers got classes on cooking, nutrition, and had appointments with doctors. I really enjoyed the volunteer program, it was great to spend time with the children, and as the days past we got to grow a stronger bond. Mente Argentina was great. When I arrived in Buenos Aires, they gave me an orientation, and spoke to me about what I needed to know about the city, how to get around, and everything was great. They organized for the to stay at a student residence, in a perfect location next to buses and really nice restaurants, supermarkets. I loved the residence, all the students were great, and I make lots of friends there and we still stay in touch. I really enjoyed the Argentine culture this experience was great. Thank you Mente Argentina.

Hi, I am Stefan and I was here for two months taking the University Spanish with Mente Argentina and we did a lot of activities, they organized everything and it was super easy. Now I’m leaving feeling like an Argentinean. Buenos Aires is a nice city is a loud city, but it’s a crazy city and people are very nice!

Hi, I’m Destiny and I enrolled with Mente underneath the study abroad program to study Spanish and I did study Spanish at UBA for a month. It was very different from the United States which I really enjoyed. Buenos Aires Spanish is very different from the one in the States. Mente is the best, they hosted awesome activities, I am not ready to go home and just a big shout out to the staff. I loved the city; if you come you have to come to La Boca, Tigre, Puerto Madero, just take as many tours as possible. I recommend Mente Argentina to everyone, the friends I met here I’m going to be keep for life. I really enjoyed all the activities; I loved the city tours and visiting the zoo. Me encanta Buenos Aires y no quiero regresar a los Estados Unidos!

I learned so much, it was phenomenal

Hi, I’m Korey and I did a month program for University Spanish. It was wonderful even though it was hard work. I learned so much, it was phenomenal. The Mente staff was great, I meet so many people in the residence and in the classes and I loved it. I pretty much went to every Mente activity! Come here with an open mind because you are going to be in a new culture, just have fun, a lot of these opportunities don’t come but once in a lifetime and you’ll learn a lot. Mente did a wonderful job with the living arrangement and being accommodating with students, just being there, we had a fantastic time together. Thank you.

Thank you Mente

Program: Dynamic Academic Semester: Study & Immerse in Buenos Aires

5

Hi, my name is Kelsey and I just finished the Semester Program here with Mente Argentina. They set me up with the Universidad de Belgrano in their international program, meaning taking classes in Spanish with internationals, which was the perfect level because my Spanish wasn’t that great and I wasn’t with Argentines so it wasn’t intimidating. My Spanish has improved greatly. I had a home stay through Mente, and meals were including which was awesome compared to other study abroad programs. The activities through Mente were great too, and it was fun to have them as integration to Buenos Aires and the things to do in the city. I was able to be very independent and being there for Mente for any visa requirements, I never felt like I was alone and it was so much to do. I was a wonderful last semester at school and I wouldn’t have chosen anywhere else to go. Thank you Mente.

Thank you Mente for a wonderful Buenos Aires experience

Program: Dynamic Academic Semester: Study & Immerse in Buenos Aires

5

Hi, I’m Peter and I did the Semester and Internship Program with Mente Argentina which were both very helpful. I learned a lot of Spanish while I was here. I worked for a company in wine tasting and we export wine in the US. It was a good field to get into as it’s a growing field in the US and here, very knowledgeable. In university all the professors were super nice, getting papers in. Everyone at Mente Argentina was really helpful, super nice, you can always shoot them an email if you need a hold of them, and they are always there. Travel experience was very fun, where you go to another country or explore this country. I got a lot of good friends from here and from abroad as well. It’s a good international community and you learn a lot from these people when you are traveling. Every barrio has its own atmosphere, the people from different barrios, different scenes. I would definitely recommend it. Thank you Mente for a wonderful Buenos Aires experience.

Hi, I’m Ryan and I did the Semester Program with Mente Argentina at the Universidad de Belgrano. I took classes in International Business, Tango, and Spanish amongst others with people from Argentina and around the world. Mente was very helpful with my visa process, making sure that it went smooth and that my classes and transcripts and all that process. My accommodation was great, super nice location that helped me move around the city easily and getting everything integrating and I highly recommend it, Buenos Aires is one of the best cities in the world and Mente will help you experience it.

It was great learning experience

August 10, 2016by: Talia - United States

Program: Dynamic Academic Semester: Study & Immerse in Buenos Aires

5

Hi, my name is Talia and I did a Semester Program and Volunteer Program. In my city I study Music Therapy and I wanted to come down here to study it from a different culture perspective. I went to Universidad del Salvador, I was the only American and all Argentines. I took 5 classes and it was very challenging as it wasn’t a program designed for foreigners, but I learned a ton of Spanish and my vocabulary improved. My volunteer program was great as I worked with 30 children from ages 5-16 and I was able to arrange Music Therapy sessions with them, and it was a great experience for me as I got to designed it and organizes it and practice Spanish. I stayed in a shared apartment and it was a really great experience in Recoleta, the nicest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. It was really open; a lot of lights and it was great. There’s always something going on in the city. It’s very economical and they actually treat you like adults and don’t treat you like the in the American bubble of baby students, you get to be free but always have a leaning shoulder if you need anything. It was great learning experience.

Everyone was so cool

Hi, we are Evelyn and Diana from Germany, and we did a semester program with Mente here in Buenos Aires and it was a great experience. We went to the Universidad de Belgrano and took our classes in English; the professors were great and helped us with everything. Our apartment is so great and such a nice view, the city is amazing and there’s so much to see here. We did a lot of things with Mente, everyone was so cool. Salsa and Tango clubs were so much fun, all the nightlife in Palermo is walking distance and it was great. We were able to travel a lot and everything was super easy.

I love the classes

5

Hi, I’m Gabriel and I did a Semester Program with Mente Argentina, I stayed in the shared apartment for four months, I was living with amazing people and we worked together to keep the place clean, as it was really nice and modern. I went to University of Belgrano, they offer you the options of taking Spanish and English classes with foreign students or taking regular classes with Argentines, I chose to do the classes in Spanish with foreigners. I love the classes, the teaching style is a little bit different, you have to read a lot of stuff. I really like the activities that Mente offers you on the week and weekends. I love the Mente nights to engage with the Mente community and staff, I felt like I could send an email and it was always a friend helping me out rather. I really liked the city, I love Buenos Aires and I can’t wait to come back as you experience different cultures and architectural styles, the culture opens up to you.

Program: International Internship Programs by Mente Argentina

5

Hi, my name is Jaqueline and I am from Austin Texas and I did the Internship Program through Mente Argentina. It was really accommodating and really nice, I didn’t know what to expect as this was my first experience going abroad in a foreign country, they really helped me organize my living accommodation, helped me set up my internship and interview and start me off with city tours during my first week here. They were always inviting and not only did I make a lot of friends but also the roommates that I had I got to connect with them even before arriving so that was really reassuring and as far as the internship goes, that was one of the best working experiences I had. The staff was great and that’s a really nice opportunity to put that on my resume. I know I will be back, thank you Mente!

I would recommend the program to anyone

August 10, 2016by: Camber

Program: Diverse Graduate and Undergraduate Degrees in Buenos Aires

5

Hi, my name is Camber and I am from North Carolina in the United States and studied abroad through Mente Argentina and I went to Universidad de Belgrano studying sociology and political science in English. It was really nice to been able to take classes in English because when I came here my Spanish wasn’t good enough. The professors were super friendly and helpful learning how people learn in different countries. It was nice taking classes from all over the world. Mente was very nice because I was in a home stay and then I opted to move into an apartment and it was as nice as my apartment in the US and very great view of the city, great location and accommodation. It was nice to live with two other girls. Mente organized activities in the city like Tango nights or going to Tigre and Mente was helpful to organize my trips to Ushuaia and Cordoba and Mente staff was great at helping me. I would recommend the program to anyone if you are a city person, Buenos Aires is really great. Very European city and the nightlife is amazing.

Mente was really reliable and helpful

August 09, 2016by: Andrew - United States

Program: International Internship Programs by Mente Argentina

5

Hi, my name is Andrew, I was here with Mente Argentina for 6 weeks. 4 weeks were of Spanish study as I was kind of rusty and I wanted to get back to it, especially the real conversational, which is different than what you learned in college or high school. I also worked as an intern in a law firm, we did poverty right, management and marketing, some of my task including getting in contact with companies from around the world, sending out emails, translating documents from Spanish to English in a way that were marketable to get our name out there, the office was really nice and I got to practice the legal system in Spanish. All along the way, Mente was really reliable and helpful. Here there are a lot of great opportunities to do in Buenos Aires. I wished I knew more about the mate tradition, something I kind of discovered it on my first day here, it was bitter at first, but I bought my own mate and it’s such a cool tradition and culture.

Mente was great

August 09, 2016by: Alley - United States

Program: Mente Argentina: Social Media Internship in Buenos Aires

5

My name is Alley and I’m from New York and I loved my experience here with Mente Argentina doing an internship. I lived in a student residence and I got to meet students from all over the world, we hung out a lot and went to cafes and restaurants. I worked with a social media company and my responsibilities including networking with 3,000 Latin American clients and gathering information from the clients and making sure the partnership was running well. I love the Buenos Aires museums and I recommend all the Mente staff and the excursions they offer. The environment of my internship was more casual and I wasn’t used to that so it was a huge relief. A lot of startup is like that here, shirt and jeans and its more about the work you do than how you look. The culture was very welcoming and I got to practice my Spanish everyday which was great. Try to do as many outdoor things as you can, go to the parks, museums are free, walk around Palermo or any barrios and just get ready to have fun and meet new people. It’s a huge city, very diverse and you’ll encounter people from all over the world. Mente was great and incredibly helpful and any questions I had.

It is something special

Program: International Internship Programs by Mente Argentina

5

Hi, my name is Nathaniel and I just participated in the Mente Argentina’s internship program. I can say a couple of things about the program. I really think it’s a great opportunity for people to come to Argentina to have a blanket of people to be around and its frightening as it is an adjustment period, but Mente made it a second home. There a lots of activities like wine tastings, city tours, Spanglish events, meetup events. I would say if there was an activity to do in the city, you wouldn’t want to do it without Mente Argentina, it is something special, being part of this group was great. Buenos Aires is beautiful full of people, lots of hectic activities but you will manage around, so I guess I can say Buenos Aires me gusta mucho, y quiero volver.

I strongly recommend it, it’s something I'll never regret

Hi, my name is Catherine, I just completed a four week internship here with Mente Argentina, working in social media for a club here in Buenos Aires and also working in a network of apartment space, luxury apartment space in South America. I love Buenos Aires and just the experience of working and living here I got to appreciate all the things that Buenos Aires has to offer. At Mente they had been very nice and quickly about solving any issues and it has been great. Im really grateful, for anyone considering doing an internship, I strongly recommend it, it’s something Ill never regret.

Program: Mente Argentina: International Marketing Internship

5

Hi, my name is Gaby and I am from New York City. I came through Mente to do an Internship and it was a really great experience. They really did a good job at hooking me up with the activities to do around the city and making sure my internship was fit for me. It’s going to help me a lot when I go back to continue my masters. It taught me a lot for networking and grant search engines. The welcome package was great, they lend us a phone which was really necessary to meet other people, and I felt like I met people that are going to be my friends for the rest of my life. Definitely RSVP to as much Mente activities as you can, like La Bomba is amazing. The day trips are really really great and Mente will give you good information on doing trips outside the city. Do the best to explore as much of this country because it is amazing!

This was an awesome opportunity

August 09, 2016by: Angela - United States

Program: Mente Argentina: Medical/Public Health Volunteer Program

5

This is Angela, and I volunteered in pediatrics. I worked with kids, helped them with any other need or their parents. I had a great supervisor that answered all the questions that I had and while I was there, I also got to interview kids, parents, doctors, nurses about the health system here which was very interesting to compare it to the US system. They really helped me get a more worldly view of how health care is around other countries and since I’m applying to medical school, this was an awesome opportunity. My interview and writing the essay was easy having two systems to compare. In Buenos Aires there’s so much to do. There are bars and clubs but there are also like nice restaurants and tourist spots. I really recommend going to the Recoleta cemetery and the San Telmo on Sundays. If you have a chance go to Uruguay, really close and cheap so definitely go there! Try to go to the interior or Argentina so you can see the gaucho life, see a soccer game, a polo match. Try all the food and everything new, the pastries are amazing. Many people complimented my Spanish so I know I improved a lot. I had amazing roommates and my apartment was really nice. I lived close to other Mente participants. Some students were living in host families so it was great to invite people to my place. Advice for incoming new Mente participants, do something new every day, there’s so much to see!

I got my fill of great experiences

August 09, 2016by: Michael - United States

Program: Mente Argentina: Medical/Public Health Intern, Buenos Aires

5

Hola, my name is Michael. I came here from Colorado. I just finished college and Im about to start medical school. I came down here to do a little bit of clinical experience from a system that’s a bit different from the one in the U.S.A. and I overall learned a lot. I was able to do a lot. I did not expect it going here that there would be so much opportunity here. I got my fill of great experiences and I am happy I came. I think what I loved the most is that it was very flexible. I choose how many responsibility I had with the internship at the hospital. All the internships, including my own were very self led and I liked that about the vibe here. Have a great time in Buenos Aires.

You have to let yourself be immersed!

August 09, 2016by: Whitney - United States

Program: Mente Argentina: Latin American NGO Management Position

5

Hi, I am Whitney and I did the 10 week internship program and I worked with a non profit organization. They helps kids and elderly on the streets and I really enjoyed it because I got to be part of the both sides, such as fundraising and on the personal side working with the kids and elderly. I think Mente did a great job organizing the program that was very specific to me and incorporating stuff about my background that I didn’t even asked for, which was perfect. Living here I chose to live with a host family and I was placed in one of the nicest areas in Buenos Aires in Recoleta, a gorgeous area. I was close to other Mente people so I was able to grow strong bonds of friendships. As the activities goes, Mente offers great activities and I think you should take advantage of all of them. First of all because they are free and they let you see the culture. The activities range from dinners to concerts to polo games on the country side. There’s many things that you can do. The country itself offers many things you can do like Iguazu Falls, Ushuaia. My advice is that come here with an open mind because this city is like no other, it offers so many things and this culture is so amazing. You have to let yourself be immersed!

I got to improve my Spanish and understand the accent so that was good! The accommodation was amazing, I was in a huge house in a great area with a lot of fun people. Mente was great at organizing trips and things like that like Bomba that was a god percussion show. I love the city! I recommend to go as many of the things to do in Buenos Aires, you won’t regret exploring the city as it is super amazing!

Ven a Argentina!

Program: Mente Argentina: Latin American NGO Management Position

5

Hi, Im Jana and Im from Germany, and I did an Internship program with Mente Argentina. I was working with one for children population like street children and it was pretty nice. I did a lot of things with the boys, especially the ones from the streets. I had the opportunity of having a psychologist accompany me, and I also study psychology so it was really good for my professional level. I was with him when he was speaking to the boys and basically like doing the interviews on how they came in, find out the situation of where and who they were, it was like basically like preparing them for getting in a better situation. My accommodation was really really great, I never expected anything that nice here, I was living in Palermo in a shared house, and it was really nice. Everybody got their own bathroom and the kitchen was really nice. Palermo is also a really good area, a lot of markets and shops, all the subway stations were close and very safe, you could walk around at night alone with no problem. Buenos Aires is a great city, I love this city, it is so interesting, every barrio is completely different, people are very nice, I never experience culture shock. If I seated on a taxi, they would talk to me nicely and on the streets people just would talk to you, so many different people with so many different stories. Ven a Argentina!

Thank you for everything Mente!

My name is Monica and I did an Internship Program with Mente. I did a Marketing and PR Internship with a famous photographer here. It was a very fun experience but it also helped me a lot in the workplace especially by being in an environment where only Spanish was spoken. I got a lot of learning experience to bring back home. I got really close to some people here and I know we will be seeing each other soon and just my experience with my roommates was amazing, I am going to miss them! It was really fun to live with them and it was a really good experience I recommend it to everyone, thank you for everything.

I really just love the energy of Buenos Aires

Program: Diverse Graduate and Undergraduate Degrees in Buenos Aires

5

Hi my name is Claire and I lived in the shared apartment with other girls in Recoleta. I really liked Recoleta because I felt really safe, we were able to walk around. I probably said that my favorite thing about Mente was all the excursions they promote, many of my friends initially didn’t know what to do but Mente was helping so much with all the things on what to do during the week, like Bomba and the Tigre excursion or having an asado and a Polo Day. I really just love the energy of Buenos Aires. I am from Colorado so I have never lived in a big city. Buenos Aires has a thing happening at every hour of the day in the different barrios. I also got to go to Iguazu which was really fun to, one of the amazing things you can do. I only wish I could have changed my travel time, I really wanted to see the north and Patagonia and Mendoza. I loved Buenos Aires and I made so many friends and I am going to miss everybody. As far as my internship, I never worked for an NGO so I learned a lot and it was very insightful and I discovered their processes that I would never imagine they run, practicing Spanish with my coworkers was really fun. My only recommendation is to get to know more locals because it is easy to fall into the habit of hanging out with Mente friends that only speak English but some of my favorite experiences were meeting random people and getting a local perspective. I can’t believe that Im leaving, have fun!

5

Hi, my name is Lizzie and I did the internship program with Mente in Buenos Aires. I really can’t speak highly enough about the whole program. It was great to come here and have already a set group of friends for you from all around the world and to have our apartment in such a nice area of Palermo. All the apartments are close but far enough that you can see different parts of the city every time you meet up with other Mente people. The activities they offer are so variant and happening all the time, you can choose which ones you want to do and it’s already included in the price so you don’t have to worry about a thing and you can always do what interest you the most, and if not, Buenos Aires has always something to do. Overall, it was a great experience in meeting all these new people.

I love the place

August 05, 2016by: Lauren - United States

Program: Mente Argentina: Latin American NGO Management Position

5

Hi, my name is Lauren and I am from Southern California and I came to Mente to do an Internship. I love the place; I really enjoyed my time here. I worked for an organization and it ended up being a very awesome experience. I worked with children mostly every day and I got to be immersed in the culture. I also took Spanish that were incredibly helpful. I’ll say my two months here were more useful than my 4 years in High School in California. I lived in a student residence, with a bunch of other students and that was really fun, and in a great location. It was in the heart of the nightlife of Palermo, great places to go around. Mente set up a lot ways to meet other people if you want to branch out from your living situation and meet others, Mente did a bunch of day trips. In Buenos Aires there’s always something for every taste at every hour of the day. I recommend Mente Argentina as they really have your back. I ran into a few mishaps and Mente always helped me at being in every step of the way.

It’s wonderful

August 05, 2016by: Gabriel - United States

Program: Mente Argentina: Latin American NGO Management Position

5

I did an internship program. It was a lovely opportunity to me and Mente made it very easy to accommodate me in the city. They were a great support system for this isolated traveler. My experience with the internship was only positive, they provided a good learning experience for me in terms of the Human Rights network here in Argentina. I got good experience working through grand research and working to network with other NGOs to provide better systems for Human Rights here in Argentina and Abroad. My Spanish improved noticeable clearly, but you know, with all the programs that Mente had it made it so much easier. I went to an outside excursion to Tigre, just outside the city it was beautiful, and I would love to be back very soon. My favorite city about Buenos Aires was the structure of the city itself, the buildings, the parks, it’s such a cosmopolitan city, there’s so much to see. I pretty much spent my free time just wandering around the city, it’s wonderful.

I know I am going to return

I stayed with a host family of 8 people which really allowed me to improve my Spanish and become a part of the family. Mente Argentina has been really great at organizing my stay and they took me to city tours in which I met a lot of cool people and I learned a lot. I always had something to do here, I loved Argentina, I know I am going to return.

Program: Mente Argentina: Medical/Public Health Intern, Buenos Aires

5

Hi I am Gautam, and I just finished my program at Mente Argentina which is kind of sad! I just wanted to let you know a little bit about my experience. I got here a month and a half ago and Mente was great at pairing me up with an internship at a hospital and introducing me to a second language. The work that I was involved was around pediatrics so I guess this is a great opportunity for people who want to learn about this before or after college in another country. I also took the Intensive Spanish Program which is amazing. From the first second you are learning the language. Taking all these classes in high school felt like nothing once I took classes here. I was never able to grasp Spanish and once you come to Buenos Aires you are able to. Mente takes care of the airport ride and back, the cell phone, all these little things that you don’t think of before planning a trip, they do! I also did a side trip to Mendoza, the wine county of Argentina and Mente was always on top of checking how I was doing. I know it’s scary to go to a different country on your own for the first time. It was great that there was someone who was guiding me along the way, telling me the things to do, the best places to eat, the safest way to shop.

5

Hi, I’m Emmily from Boston, and I did the internship program through Mente and it was a photography internship. We did a lot of photography for commercial work but also very artistic work. I was able to help behind the scenes and work with computers and post production. It was really helpful for me as I learned a lot of Spanish as none of the people at the studio spoke English, so it really pushed me to try my hardest to speak Spanish and learn as much as possible and I loved the city, I learned so much while being here. I went to many different neighborhoods and tried all the food, it was an incredible cultural experience, I love Argentina. It was fantastic and I would totally come back, their food is amazing, I met a lot of locals that helped me with my Spanish as well and Mente also hosted a lot of great programs that connected you with locals and helped you to see the city in different ways, so I highly recommend it.

The best things about Mente Argentina are the connections they set you up with, because with Mente, I was able to go to a really get Tango Studio, I finished the requirements for my university and I got an awesome place to live. You also get VIP lists, gym memberships, things that would be impossible to do without some inside help. I fell in love with Buenos Aires, and I know I am going to be back soon.

Hi, my name is Gwin and I am from Germany. I did an internship that was basically social work, I helped kids in school and their homework and that was really awesome. I improved my Spanish a lot. I came here thinking I knew a lot of Spanish but once I arrived I realized I didn’t know much. Then, I traveled a lot and I met so many people here, I really recommend it doing as much as you can afford. Be open minded and try to improve your Spanish, otherwise it wouldn’t be worth to come down here if you are unable to speak to anyone and you can’t socialize.

5

Hola, my name is Esteban and I did five and a half months here with Mente Argentina. Studying International Business and Management, I had to do an internship and for my Bachelor Thesis, I decided to do it abroad in Buenos Aires. Mente Argentina got me hook up with a really cool company and the supervision along the way was very good. Besides that, Mente Argentina made the stay so awesome by offering different tours every weekend, they helped you with the first step of having you socialized with meeting their group of people and afterwards the networking is truly easy here in Buenos Aires. The city is great, if you are thinking of coming over, definitely do. You know, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Highly recommend

My name is Amanda, and I am from the U.S. I came to Argentina through Mente Argentina to do an internship program with a start up Tech Company for 6 weeks and it’s been so awesome that I can’t even put it into words, I learned so much and it was so much fun. And just the Mente Program in general, everything I had a stupid question, they were like “oh, no worry about it, here is all the information that you need to know, never hesitate if you need to contact us for something we are always here to help you”. They sponsored lots of fun things, like different shows, so it has definitely been a blast. Highly recommend.

it was an excellent experience and I can not believe

Program: Mente Argentina: DJ Program (+Optional Spanish Classes)

Hi, I am Sophie from New York, and I was in Buenos Aires through Mente for about 3 months, and I stayed in an apartment in Recoleta. The outdoor was very green and beautiful. I was an intern and I also was part of the Spanish Program and the DJ program. All three were amazing, I really felt like I improved a lot in Spanish. My internship was incredible; I worked for an art gallery also in Recoleta. I got to see how the art world works here in Buenos Aires, as it is really different from New York. My coworkers and boss were amazing and the art was just incredible, and I really enjoyed it. The DJ program was also very fun. I did 12 courses at the Music School of Buenos Aires. I got to learn the basics as I had no background, but I rapidly got all the information on how to be a good DJ. My teacher was very sweet, very informational. Everything was in Spanish, which was good for my practicing, so I felt like I learned a ton. As far as Mente goes, I went to their free activities, we went to Colón Theater for a tour and a show, and it was incredible. Basically Mente was a great source to get me comfortable in the city and to answer any questions that I had, so it was an excellent experience and I can not believe.

I didn’t have to worry about a thing, zero stress

My name is Jacob and I am a student of the University of Michigan, and I was here with Mente working as an intern in a tech startup. I had a lot of fun and all due in part because of Mente, and all the activities they organized for us. Mente made it easy to focus on our jobs, and planning events for us during the week, such as playing football, having asado, Tango shows, and Fuerza Bruta, all of these are incredible experiences. I really recommend Mente for anyone wanting to come to Argentina as I had a great time and I didn’t have to worry about a thing, zero stress.

Hi, I am Mike from the University of Michigan – Ross School of Business. I was living here with other people from my program and that alone was a fun experience for me, as it was very cool. From Mente Argentina specifically, the tours and activities they put for us like Fuerza Bruta, playing Soccer with local Argentines, city tours about different areas, etc, all of them are very different experiences but at the same time very helpful to the full immersion of the culture and insightful for someone who really wanted to know the city inside and out. Mente Argentina helped providing me every single thing that I could ever imagine and it was a great experience.

Hi, my name is Hugh and I come from Australia. I just finished a 2 and half months with Mente Argentina doing the internship program and the Spanish courses. From the very first day, I liked everything, my apartment for example, it was a really great experience. The staff was always great at answering any questions or solving the issues that I had. I stayed in a shared apartment with three other people and they were really cool people from Belgium, Switzerland, and Spain. Mente Argentina had great activities for us, the people I meet through Mente later became my travel buddies, we had an empanada class and it was so much fun. La Bomba del Tiempo was always great and the BA Pub Crawl was a blast. We did La Boca and Graffiti tours, and going to Teatro Colón was an experience on its own. I recommend Mente to anyone who wants to improve their Spanish or get recognition from an organization and have a blast overall. Buenos Aires is unique and wonderful!

Hi we are Hannah and Mads, we are from Denmark, and we were in Argentina for about a month. I got to do the Spanish Program because I wanted to learn the language and Mads got to do an internship in marketing and business. It was a great experience as we got to know many different people from different countries, and at the same time we got to know this big city through Mente Argentina’s activities. We went to different parts of the city and it was amazing, because for one entire month we got to fall in love with this beautiful place. Whether you want to do an internship, learn Spanish or University or anything, do it with Mente Argentina, because you feel like home. You never feel the homesickness here. You have to do the Empanada Class at some point! We love the culture, it’s amazing

Hi, this is Thomas and I am from Chicago. I have been here for 8 weeks. Coming here was so much fun, all thanks to Mente... my favorite was everything to do with “The Argentine Experience”, the wine tasting and the empanada making class, Fuerza Bruta, La Boca tour and overall all the incredible things I wouldn’t expect to be able to experience, it was all worth it. I came here to make an internship and overall, I feel in love with the place. I had a great time.

I am Sean, student at Northwestern University. I came here with Mente to intern in a tech start up. Mente was awesome because they organized a whole lot of different events, from soccer to Fuerza Burta, and they even offered a gym, in which I worked out every day. All of these gave me not only a taste of Argentine culture but at the same time, have fun. Not only did I come here for work, but also to experience everything in Argentina and Mente helped me with that. Thanks for everything.

Hi my name is Kathy, and I study at the University of Michigan and I came to Buenos Aires through Mente Argentina. Mente Argentina provided us with a lot of opportunities to do things in Buenos Aires that I wouldn’t have ever known existed, which is the Argentine Experience, going to see a Tango Show, going to Fuerza Bruta, all these things were really amazing and again, I wouldn’t have known them without Mente. In addition is was nice to have somebody to ask questions to whenever I didn’t know something and just get a quick answer and not have to worry whether Google was right or wrong, when we just had people who were living here for a while, so Mente was a great resource to have and I am really happy I got paired with them.

Hi, Im Bayley from Denver, Colorado, I was a Mente intern for almost 5 months. I did a medical internship program. Mente helped me improve my Spanish a lot because I was working with people who only spoke Spanish, and that was one of the goals of my trip. I enjoyed being with Mente a lot, they exposed me to a lot of interesting things, like they take you to a lot of trips. We went to Tigre and went to a river trip there, we went to different shows like Fuerza Bruta and La Bomba del Tiempo, so it was nice to have all these extra activities and got to meet a lot of people through them. It was a really good experience.

My name is Jerel and I am from the UK. I did and internship of international business and trade and my experience was great here. I had a good time and I learned a lot of Spanish, it has really improved. I would say that one of the best immersion techniques you can do to just full blown make it in the Spanish or Latin world is to take Spanish lessons by living in a city like Buenos Aires, where you are tempted to really understand things because you really fear of missing out. One of my favorite things about Buenos Aires was the nightlife, everywhere I went is opened later than in Europe, which was different and totally amazing. Steak here is amazing, best in the world I had so far. I definitely recommend anyone to join Mente and check out their information resources, because they will help you with anything you have to do. I had the greatest time here, I am already missing Buenos Aires.

I am Danielle from Orlando, Florida, USA and I did an Internship Program in a setting of International Relations. I worked at an organization that worked with a lot of nongovernmental organizations to help with political development in Argentina. That was probably the highlight, because that was what I came here for and it was really great to do it through Mente Argentina. I think that sometimes is hard for people to know where to start, or how to get internships, especially abroad. Mente Argentina was great, I told them what I was looking for, and they found a great fit for me according to my interests. Buenos Aires is obviously an amazing city, especially for being in South America, it is very safe. People are great, the food is great, no complaints there! Overall a great experience, Mente helped me get adjusted and I didn’t have to worry about being in a foreign country by myself because they were there to help me in everything I needed

I had an amazing time

August 03, 2016by: Erin - United States

Program: Mente Argentina: Latin American NGO Management Position

5

My name is Erin and I am from Kentucky Western University, USA. I participated in a six week long internship program and I worked for an NGO. My favorite part was that I always wanted to work for an NGO, and I was super thrilled to have the experience while I was still in college. I was able to get firsthand experience by working at the villas helping kids at school, making sure they kept focused, making sure they got individualized attention. I also got to have the office experience part, working with the fundraising and donating aspects, campaigns, so I really got to see both sides of how an NGO operates. Another favorite part was how much Spanish I was able to speak, as I got to speak it every single day and I left Buenos Aires feeling super confident about my language skills. I am very excited to know where this experience is going to take me for what I do and go next. Everything was perfect, I had an amazing time.

It was an amazing opportunity

At my internship I got valuable workforce experience. This was my second time in Buenos Aires, and I felt like I regained knowledge, and especially my confidence. I traveled back to Argentina because the first time I was not ready to leave, I fell in love with Buenos Aires and its people. During my internship interview, my boss and I spoke English only, but the language barrier between me and my coworkers, made me want to understand Spanish. I rapidly started to be more confident and open with my work environment, as I wanted to help out as much as I could. I pressured me to the point that I wanted to know everything that was going on at my internship, and my coworkers were very patient and helpful. We had a great time, I will cherish the sense of friendliness we developed these past months. It was an amazing opportunity to work with them, they were always willing to work with you.

Hi, my name is Dara and I am from California, United States. When I came to Argentina, I wanted to do it in a way that I could find a lot of good people, do cool things, and specially because I didn’t exactly know what to do, having a little help and having people that were close to our age helps us with everything, made it all so much better. I found exactly the program that was specific for me and I couldn’t have asked for a better transition into Buenos Aires.

One month well spent in BsAs

Being a New Yorker, I actually quite pleasantly enjoyed my four week Spanish program in BsAs with Mente Argentina. In short, Mente is a small team of young but energetic individuals who work their best to improve the program and to satisfy various needs. I certainly believe that everyone has a slightly different view after their stay in this city and their study, however, the most important thing is to set the right expectation and to enjoy and make the most out of this and/or any study abroad program. Mente was closely engaged with my needs which included apartment location preference/change, short excursion time change due to my personal weekend trips to places like Iguazu Catalatas and Puerto Madryn which by the way were a lot of fun!! Mente helped me print out bus and flight boarding tickets upon my requests and reschedule the tours that I missed so that I was able to have a full calendar during my stay. Mente put me in touch with travel agency as well which offered great service for me to travel to Patagonia. I am very happy with my assigned apartment which is at plaza Italia, with a beautiful view and a few cool roomies. The airport pickup and dropoff were a sure bonus. Fr the Spanish course, I enjoyed the learning progress, the school and all the teachers, very pleasant experience whilst getting my Spanish improved by two levels in four weeks. A sure mission accomplished :) I would recommend Mente to fellow students who are like-minded to explore the city of Buenos Aires and to travel around in Argentina.

Mente is a perfect study abroad program for any student looking for flexibility. I was unable to find so many options in housing, internships, and a schedule that worked for me with any of the other programs I researched. Everyone on the Mente Argentina staff was incredibly inviting and helpful and the group activities were some of my roommates’ and my favorite memories. Buenos Aires is the perfect city for anyone trying to improve their Spanish, but I felt like the small classes I took especially helped me transition to the differences in Spanish that are unique to Argentina. I’m so glad that I chose to study abroad with Mente Argentina and I would definitely recommend it to other students!!

I loved everything about Buenos Aires and the Mente Argentina Semester Program. My shared apartment in Palermo was one of the best parts and I could not imagine a better study abroad experience (I also participated in a part-time internship arranged through Mente). Buenos Aires is a beautiful city and it was the perfect place to study abroad. Cool people, great staff, amazing places, wonderful culture! I feel that this Program really helped me to grow up; I learned more about myself than I ever imagined. The experience was more than I could have ever expected, and Mente Argentina was a huge part of making my study abroad trip a success. My apartment was incredible well located (Palermo Neighborhood). The excursions and activities (included in the program cost) took me all over the city; right away I immersed myself into the Spanish culture and found unique bars, museums, restaurants, and fun areas to hang out during the day and at night! A special thanks to Caitlin (my program coordinator in Buenos Aires), she was sooooo helpful, easy to approach, and a lot of fun to be around. She made my experience in Argentina so much more enjoyable! I can honestly say that the 6 months I lived in Buenos Aires was by far the best time of my life. I am already considering traveling with Mente again in the future, and would definitely recommend them.

I went on my first Spanish Program trip through Mente and it was nice to have a big official company behind me to offer advice and support before I went (gave my parents peace of mind). It was also brilliant to have an incountry coordinator to meet us at the airport and always be there to help! The schools are all very nice and well equipped. Nice people, good teachers. And I had a lot of fun. I liked my Spanish teacher Patricia who was very patient! She was easy to work with and I learned a lot. I would definitely recommend the language Spanish program if you want to learn or advance your Spanish. I also loved the fact that they offer shared apartments as primary housing as opposed to other companies that only offer student dorms or homestays. My apartment was also really nice (I got a huge room) located in a great area called Palermo. I met a few awesome people and had hundreds of experiences I'll never forget. Probably the best trip in my life. I would do another study abroad with Mente Argentina all over again.

I tried three different Study Abroad organizations and I have to say that Mente was definitely the best one.I absolutely loved my experience while I was in Argentina. First of all, any questions that I had before leaving (and I had quite a few!!) were answered immediately. They were extremely kind and helpful with any pre-departure issues or concerns that I had. The process of setting up this Program was simple thanks to Mente & the overall costs for this trip were surprisingly manageable! I took Spanish Language courses at UBA from 1-4 pm. The teacher I had was very attentive and helpful and the school had a nice atmosphere with lots of new friends gained. I would recommend Buenos Aires as a good place to learn Spanish as it has lots of good bars, restaurants and an incredible weather. They also got me an amazing apartment, right in the middle of Palermo! It's a top floor apartment (22nd floor!) with amazing views of the city (Located in Las Heras Street between Lafinur & Republica de la India). This apartment has 4 spacious individual rooms, 3 bathrooms and a huge living room with a nice LCD TV!. After I had been there for a couple weeks, they got into contact with me to make sure everything was OK! As for the staff, all of them are young, efficient and fun to party with. They picked me up from the airport upon arrival, answered all of my questions thoughtfully, and introduced me to several other participants that were taking different programs with them. My Program coordinator was even happy to connect me with local tourist groups and attractions. She was very knowledgeable, helpful, and kind!! Finally, they also had a great variety of activities where you could interact with other people doing the program such as City Tours, Bomba del tiempo (amazing!), Mente Nights, Bike Tours, etc. In short, my experience with this organization was amazing. They are low-cost, very thoughtful, organized, and eager to please their participants. I am already considering traveling with Mente again in the future, and would definitely recommend them. Thanks Mente and UBA! Greatest travel experience of my life (so far :)

Mente Argentina Review - Semester Program

Program: Mente Argentina: Start Up Program in Buenos Aires

My semester in Buenos Aires with MENTE ARGENTINA was one of the best of my LIFE! The people couldn't have been cooler. I got matched with 2 really cool girls and 1 boy and we all still talk on a weekly basis -- did I mention that we were roommates 1 year ago? Well, these people are still some of my best friends. Buenos Aires is really unique! The staff was really helpful and the excursions & activities they planned were great (they were included in the program price!!). After meeting other students from other programs in Argentina, it appears we had far superior housing locations and group activities. The housing was in the nicest neighborhood in Buenos Aires: Palermo. We also have a coordinator available 24/7 for anything we might have had problems or concerns with. The price paid for the program was significantly less expensive than other programs I had researched. I HIGHLY recommend Mente!
