Get TEFL Certified & Teach English in Costa Rica!

Cannot recommend this course highly enough. Brilliant instructor, welcoming staff. Feel well prepared to know go and teach due to the effective practicum teaching as well. Well worth the effort. Unforgettable experience

I had a great time learning and building a community making the experience all the more enjoyable. My instructor was very informative and helpful throughout the course and with assisting in job searches.

As the title states, this course was the capstone of my retirement gap year, and it did not disappoint. Old enough to be a grandmother (and not TEEN mother) of half the class, my reasons for being here were quite different than the rest. But honestly, all of us were here for varied reasons and none more-less complicated than the other. This is a CRASH COURSE, so be prepared. I flip-flopped every 48hours on quitting and staying. Not that I couldn't do it, but moreso knowing that i 'didnt have to' do it, i often time thought 'is this worth putting so much effort into'? but in the long run, yes it was. Glad i didnt decide to quit halfway through, and pushed on to the end. I learned alot about myself, am proud of getting to the otherside, and now i have a cert in my backpocket to use, or not: but its an accomplishment that cant be taken away.

During the course I was able to learn information and apply to practical lesson plans. The course is very informative and if you want to teach English abroad, it is a great course to take. You will be glad you took it.

This course is not for the faint of heart! It's a lot of work and the pace is fast, but you will be surprised at how much you learn in a short time! The course comprehensively trains you in lesson planning, grammar concepts, practicum teaching and creating Learner Profiles for individual ESL students. I had no formal teaching experience before I took the course, but now I feel confident to teach English as a foreign language to anyone and in many different contexts. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. My instructor was fantastic and I met some of the best people who have become friends and comrades!

I was skeptical because of the price at first but the location, people, and instructor made the experience 100% worth it! My teaching English skills, grammar skills, and lesson planning all drastically improved and made me feel confident on my TEFL journey!

When I decided to enroll in the TEFL course, it was the best decision I had ever made. Not only did I get to come back to the beautiful country that is Costa Rica, I also learned what it means to be and how to be an English teacher. I was fortunate to have teaching experience in the US, but learning to be an English teacher was still a unique experience. My instructor, Mike, was incredible: he was compassionate, patient, encouraging, relatable, and knowledgeable--the best teacher a student could ask for. The lessons were long, yes, but they were filled with laughter and learning. Every day I learned something new: an activity, a grammar point, a way to look at the learning process. Every day, with the guidance and support of my instructor and colleagues, I became a better English teacher and discovered who I am (as a teacher and person) and what I want my future to entail. Take this TEFL course--I promise you will not regret it!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at International TEFL Academy. Mike R. is an excellent instructor, full of knowledge and enthusiasm. I enjoyed getting to know the other students. The course was challenging and well-executed. I was very impressed with teh course, with the substance of what we were taught, and the overall experience (sitting outside next to a mango tree every day was delightful).

You really learn so much in such a short time, and in a manageable way. The practicum teaching is invaluable in preparing you to become a teacher, and it's so incredible to see how much you can improve with each lesson. Also, the instructors and practicum observers really encourage you and believe in you. I loved having the recruiters come in and pitch their companies to us; it really solidified how earning the certificate would help me get hired, and that even as a person without a degree, I would be able to find work. Additionally, the in-person course is really great because it allows you to meet other students and have them as a support system, and it also immerses you in a culture that you may want to teach in.

The TEFL course with ITA in Barva, Costa Rica is interesting, challenging and extrememly well-developed. Mike is an amazingly competent and engaging instructor. The course is a lot of sitting (and late nights working) so maintain your well-being. It was very encouraging to hear local employers confidence in hiring students that are certified in this course. Everyone in the area knows ITA in Barva turns out well-trained EFL teachers. The homestays offer a wonderful month of living with a tica family. Thank you Mike, Georgia, Yolanda and all involved in making this a great TEFL course!

I had a great experience in the student housing. My roommates were wonderful! I'm very happy that I chose to come to Costa Rica. I love this country. Everyone is so nice and welcoming. I was able to learn some more Spanish and learn about the culture of this country. I traveled around to a few places, and I had the time of my life. I will be back.

If you want to learn how to teach English in the most beautiful country in the world, ITA Costa Rica is the program for you! I just finished the course and am leaving with 1/ a job, 2/ applicable life skills beyond ESL teaching, and 3/ memories that will last a lifetime! My time so far with ITA has been great. The support has been incredible and gives me a feeling of confidence. The classes were great and a lot of fun. I am so glad I went to Costa Rica. The Costa Ricans have been friendly and a lot of fun. My classmates were amazing and fun. The teachers were incredible.

ITA Costa Rica is the best!! I am so grateful to have been a part of this 4 week class. I can honestly say that I have learned more in these past 4 weeks about teaching and education than I have during my 4 years of undergrad college education classes.
