Best Friends is more than just a place; it’s a movement fueled by passionate people across the country who believe every pet deserves a chance. In 1984, a group of friends, along with 200 rescued dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, and a couple of burros, landed in a remote canyon in Utah’s high desert. There, they began what would grow into the nationwide no-kill movement for homeless pets. With years of experience in animal rescue and advocacy, we dreamed of creating a place in the country where we could care for as many animals as we wanted, without the worry of neighbors or landlords.
