Had the best time in Valencia!
August 03, 2026by: Carson Koenning - United StatesI had a great experience with AIP Study Abroad Internships, especially because of how kind and helpful the staff was throughout the entire process. From the beginning, everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly, responsive, and genuinely wanted to make sure I had a good experience abroad. Whenever I had a question or needed help with something, the AIP team was always easy to reach and willing to help. Moving abroad and starting an internship in another country can definitely be stressful at times, but having such a supportive staff made the whole experience much easier. They were welcoming, patient, and always made me feel like I had someone I could reach out to if I needed anything. Overall, I’m very grateful for everyone at AIP who helped me along the way and made my time abroad such a positive experience. I would definitely recommend AIP to anyone considering an internship abroad!
Best Trip Ever!
July 30, 2026by: Akhil Sankar - United StatesAmazing experience, I could not have asked for a better provider to guide me through this journey! Nisha and Tyler were the best as they helped me navigate my first couple days here and made it much easier for me.
This has been a wonderful time of my life

I have enjoyed every minute with my job as well as my coworkers and couldn’t have asked for a better placement.
Amazing Summer in Valencia, Spain!
July 28, 2026by: Caleb Biondo - United StatesThanks to AIP, I had the opportunity to participate in an amazing internship in Valencia, Spain. I was able to learn, meet many new people, and experience life in a completely different country. The AIP team was amazing, especially Nisha and Tyler, who were consistently reliable points of contact. At all times I felt that they genuinely cared about my experience and wellbeing. Thank you AIP!
Great time in Spain!
July 24, 2026by: Claudio De La Garza - United StatesDeciding to do an internship through AIP was easily one of the best moves I’ve made. The team made the whole process super simple and stepped in to guide me every step of the way. AIP matched me with a role that aligned directly with my academic background and long-term career goals, rather than just placing me in a generic position.
I had a great experience
July 23, 2026by: Sam Konuma - United StatesThanks to AIP, I did a 2 month internship in Spain. Nisha and Tyler were very helpful with the placement process and making sure everything ran smoothly. 10/10 and I 100% recommend doing AIP if you’re looking to intern abroad.
Money well spent!
December 14, 2024by: Rebecca Gordon - United StatesWe were hesitant about sending our daughter so far away to "reset" herself. High school wasn't a successful four years and we desperately something for her to believe in her abilities again. Wow....did this program do that! The closeness of the group and support from the organization turned our daughter around. She loved the adventure and thrived both personally and professionally. The communication from the team was super. I reached out whenever I needed anything, and they were quick to respond. Who won't regret this adventure for your child or yourself.
I had the most amazing experience!!!!
November 28, 2024by: Audrey Ratcliffe - United StatesI participated in Spanish Gap Year's Future Leaders program in the fall of 2024 and I had the most amazing experience. We started out in Madrid for the first 4 weeks and stayed with a host family. While in Madrid we took Spanish classes at Tandem. Tandem is so amazing and I had the absolute best time there. For the last 8 weeks we stayed in Barcelona and had internships. Barcelona is so beautiful and fun to explore so there was never a dull moment. If I could, I would do this program all over again.
UPDATED: Best summer of my life, I would highly recommend going abroad to anyone who is intereste
August 11, 2024by: Ethan Ochital - United StatesI completed my internship in Valencia at a company called SingularStays. They manage the processes related to renting to make things easier for the owners. Many people staying at their apartments are travelers, but they also have longer-term guests. They list their units on their website, in addition to sites like Airbnb and Booking.com. I helped them with various administrative tasks and collected and delivered apartment keys. I’m interested in pursuing a career in the travel industry, and this internship aligned well with that. In addition to interning, I had plenty of time to explore Valencia and travel to various other places in Europe. The ISA on-site staff were friendly and made sure to look out for the safety and well-being of participants. They also organized optional activities and trips. My favorite day trip with them was to Gandia. We went to the beach and had the opportunity to do water activities as well. The activities are also a great way to meet other ISA participants. They also ran an optional paid overnight trip to Barcelona, offering it on two different weekends during my program. The apartment I was placed in was in a great location. I was only about a 15-20 minute walk from the city center, and my internship was also near the city center. I was also only about an 8-minute walk from the nearest metro station, which had a line directly to Valencia Airport. However, an important thing to keep in mind is that air conditioning is not as common throughout Europe as it is in the United States, and it was very hot in Valencia during the summer. For the most part, I had no issues with this as I had a fan in my bedroom, and I was lucky enough that the living room had air conditioning. The apartment was also a little bit worn, and I saw a lizard several times. The first time was on my first night living there, and one of my flatmates captured it and let it out. The second time I saw a lizard was towards the end of my program, and it hid away fairly quickly. While the lizard was harmless, seeing it was still unsettling. Despite this “startling” start, I had a fantastic time abroad in Valencia and in Europe, and it was the best summer of my life! I enjoyed my time abroad so much that I decided to do an exchange program with my university in the UK this past spring, which allowed me to continue my growth and excitement for travel that my program in Valencia helped ignite!

Amazing dynamic program!
August 01, 2024by: Charlie Thomajan - United StatesThe Spanish classes alone provided a ton of hands on learning. However, the entrepreneurship and internship portions are what provided a level of experience that has changed my life. With the internship portion you are given the opportunity to explore a field of your interests while making connections within the field and learning real business and work skills. The entrepreneurial portion provided invaluable experience where one can create and chase their ideas while working with mentors who have real credible experience. The skills of forming, creating, and pitching an idea as a real world entrepreneur is invaluable. You will learn public speaking, networking, how to ask for help, what works and what doesn’t with business, and a million other practical real world skills.
Amazing group pre-professional experience in Spain!
July 21, 2024by: Grace Wheelan - United StatesThe Spanish Gap Year staff is incredibly diligent, knowledgeable and caring, and this combination fosters an incredible environment to explore future career opportunities alongside a group of peers while immersing yourself in a new country. The program balances busy days that bring together Spanish language, entrepreneurship and individualized internships with plenty of independence to explore the cities you live in as well as the rest of Spain and even other parts of Europe if you choose! The support from program leaders in helping me fulfill my individual goals for the experience was truly one of a kind and I learned so much during 3 months, both in the classroom and in terms of maturity and independence from living in foreign cities. I would 100% recommend this program to anyone who has ambitious future goals, wants to expand their worldview, and is looking for a tight-knit group of peers to explore with!

Best summer of my life, and I would highly recommend a program abroad
January 01, 2024by: Ethan Ochital - United StatesI had the best summer of my life, and I would highly recommend doing a program abroad if you have the opportunity. In addition to interning, I had plenty of time to explore Valencia and travel to various other places in Europe. The ISA on-site staff were friendly and cared about the safety and well-being of participants. They also organized optional activities and trips. And they ran an optional paid overnight trip to Barcelona on two weekends. The apartment I was placed in was in a great location. I was only about a 15-minute walk from my internship and 15-20 minutes from the city center. I was also only about an 8-minute walk from the nearest metro station, which had a line to the airport. However, the apartment was worn, and it was a little disappointing that it only had air conditioning in the main living/dining area. For the most part, I did not have any issues with this. There was a fan in my bedroom, but I don't think all the fans in the apartment worked. I hear that air conditioning is less common in Europe than it is in the United States, so that is something to keep in mind in case that may be an issue for you. It was also very hot in Valencia during the summer. Additionally, there were two known instances of a lizard in the apartment. The first time there was a lizard was on the first night we were there, and I worried about what else might have been hiding there.

An amazing summer
December 21, 2023by: Caroline Conte - United StatesI loved the whole setup of the program. It was nice having an internship during the day and then the opportunity to experience the city in our free time. The placement of my group and the activities available allowed me to not only get close to the people in my group but meet locals as well. It would have been nice to hear about bigger group activities further in advance so we did not waste money on other plans. Other than that, I really appreciated how involved and helpful ISA was throughout the summer.
Spain 2023

Spain and all it's architecture
July 08, 2022by: Alex Nasher - United StatesI remember when I was in middle school my parents took my brothers and I on a trip to Spain. I was really fascinated by the buildings and thought it looked really different from what we have in the states. Since then I was inspired to study architecture and that’s exactly what I am doing now in university. My university requires me to complete an internship abroad in order to graduate so I did a quick google search for architecture internships in Spain and came across an ad for AIP - I thought it was meant to be! Fast forward to my internship in Valencia, everything was so amazing! My supervisor at my host company was so helpful. He taught me so much about architecture in Spain and gave me projects that allowed me to really express my creativity. Everything is also way more beautiful than I remembered! I also got a chance to take a trip to Barcelona to visit La Sagrada Familia and I remember crying when I finally saw it because it truly is a beautiful masterpiece. I want to thank AIP again for giving me this experience of a lifetime. It’s definitely one I will be sharing with my friends and with my future children! I definitely recommend this program to anyone looking for an internship!
Memories for life...
July 04, 2022by: Weston Eaton - CanadaWhat stuck with me the most was how convenient Spain was. I will go to the main review in a bit but gosh the public transport, grocery stores.. If I wanted japanese food, there’s one down the street, they even had thai food and massages! The internship experience was great. Did not regret it at all. I loved the work environment. The people were so friendly and they had so many snack breaks. I’m going to Spain for my retirement, mark my words. I loved that place to bits. Especially Valencia. Speaking of work, the bosses were so understanding to the point where I questioned their positions ahah. I mean it was great for me and we did get work done well don’t get me wrong. The people I worked with in business development were heaven sent. Miss them lots. Thanks AIP, you guys rock!!
Good experience in Spain + great service
June 23, 2022by: Gerta Mosley - GreeceBefore anything, let me tell you about my first week. I had to ask the AIP staff to change my accommodation because I couldn’t stand the hood I was in. I mean accommodation was heaven sent, it was relatively close to the public transport and there was a nice local grocery store and neighbors were nice but they littered. I tried my best to not think about them but I just couldn’t couldn’t bear the sight of them. Please don’t come at me in the replies. So they did that for me. I was moved to a new location. This time it was slightly further than my previous accommodation but I was satisfied with how the room and the surrounding areas looked. The internship itself was an awesome experience. In the marketing department of where I was at, people were so open to my suggestions and ideas. Maybe it was the demographics of the people I was collaborating with, we all got along very well and I was so relieved. What made me fall in love with this is the feeling I get when I see my ideas come to life. It was just a wholesome feeling for me. The office environment was so pristine too so that’s a big plus. I recommend using AIP service. They were fast to respond to me and the staff were understanding! I am glad that they made my internship experience so special. PS now my family wants to go to Spain haha.
Spain...an architect's dream!
June 22, 2022by: Nicolas Vaughn - AustraliaBeing an architect enthusiast, Spain is an absolute gem for fellow architects alike! It’s one of the reasons why I fell in love with the country and my passion for it only grew. I wanted to gain more real-life experience and decided to apply for an architecture internship in Spain. The staff at AIP were extremely helpful in landing me a great internship in Madrid, a city I absolutely love. My 3 months in Madrid flew by but I remember everything so well. It was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve learned so much but most of all gained that valuable experience I desired. The internship really pushed me out of my comfort zone too so don’t be surprised if any of my future works have a little bit of a Spanish twist. I really enjoyed my time in Spain, it was a life-changing experience and I know that I can take everything I’ve learned into future experiences!
Spain you beauty!
June 22, 2022by: Jaelyn Osbourne - CanadaSo I’ve never been to Spain and have had everyone judge me for it. Personally, it was a country that never really interested me but man was I wrong! I had an absolute blast in Spain. The food, scenery and that Mediterranean climate! I felt like I was on cloud nine most of the time! My internship was in Valencia and I did an internship in hospitality and tourism. My internship was two months long and honestly, I wish it could have been longer. I met some pretty great people and my coworkers and supervisors were the best! I’ve learned so much from each and every one of them, which I’m extremely grateful for. Don’t judge me for it and as cliche as it sounds but I feel like I have become a changed individual as a result of my time in Spain. Thank you to everyone that made it a special experience!
Intern in Spain
June 03, 2019by: Sky Salina CADET - HaitiProgram: Internship Placements in Spain
Sky.
