CIEE Summer Internships CIEE Summer Global Internships are 6-credit, 8-week programs with full-time working hours (approximately 30 hours weekly) and a seminar. CIEE Summer Intern and Study Abroad are 6 to 7-credit, 6-week programs with a part-time internship (approximately 20 hours weekly), a seminar, and a 3-credit academic course. CIEE Semester Internships CIEE Semester Global Internships are 9 to 13-credit, 12-week programs that feature a full-time internship (approximately 30 hours weekly), a seminar, and an optional 3 to 4-credit academic course online. Placement opportunities are available at a wide variety of businesses, educational organizations, non-profits, and political organizations. You will enroll in a required 3- or 6-credit academic internship seminar with other IES interns that will give context to what you're learning and doing at your internship placement. Your internship seminar will be taught at the Rome Center located beside the Tiber River across from the Castel Sant’ Angelo. Housing is included in the program costs, and you will live with other IES Internships students in a furnished apartment with the option to live with local university students. Spend your free time exploring Rome, one of the most photogenic cities in the world, with its beautiful piazzas; breathtaking statues, parks cathedrals and fountains; and winding historic streets. Intern abroad in Rome this summer and develop vital language and professional skills while exploring the city's unique mix of ancient history and modern business. Qualifications - At least 18 Years of Age - In good standing at your home school - 2.5 GPA or Better on a 4.0 Scale - Completion of at least one year of undergraduate study prior to application. - Graduate students and continuing education students are encouraged to apply. - Students must be enrolled in a full-time degree program, or graduates intending to begin their internship within 12 months of their graduation, and must have either solid academic credentials related to studies or experience in desired field of placement. - No prior Italian language study required.
