High School Study Abroad in Curieuse Island, Seychelles

Investigate sea turtles, whale sharks, coral reefs, and other species of marine wildlife in this volunteer program that is almost entirely underwater in Seychelles! Participants will study marine populations in order to contribute to conservation projects, documenting and collecting data on fish, coral, and other animals. This project will supply information to the local government and involves working towards environmental health and sustainability. Volunteers on this program will gain an understanding of identification tactics used to classify the tropical coral and fish they will encounter. Participants take the courses for PADI Advanced and PADI Coral Reef Research Diver and can also be involved in other courses on diving if they wish. Participants will obtain a detailed understanding of surveying a marine environment. They will focus on researching fish or coral.

Travel to the tropical paradise of Seychelles to help us protect the island ecology alongside local partners, such as the Seychelles National Parks Authority. Increase your own knowledge of this vulnerable ecosystem and assist in taking part in critical conservation research and help support the creation of conservation policies. The under 18 participants will stay on Curieuse Island and work with endemic flora and fauna while also contributing towards the long-term survival of endangered species.
