This ultimate Costa Rican adventure packs in 21 days of pure adrenaline mixed with just the right amount of community service! Experience the country's natural beauty and excitement while giving back to the local community. In Sámara, we have partnered with a local association that has provided local youth who have limited resources with supplemental educational, recreational, and career opportunities for the past ten years. These young people live in the rural beach communities of the surrounding area. We help run one of their many programs that focus on academic and artistic education, environmental consciousness, health, and socio-cultural development. After a hard day of work, relax on pristine beaches, fly through the jungle canopy on a zipline, and catch some waves at some of the world’s most famous surfing destinations! This trip for teens (finishing grades 9 & 10) strikes a perfect balance between work and play. You will earn up to 20 service hours and, at the same time, try new adventure activities such as whitewater rafting, swimming in waterfalls, canyoning, and rappelling, among others. What are you waiting for? A perfect summer in Costa Rica awaits!

Join the Sloth and Wildlife Rescue Center in Costa Rica, a renowned wildlife organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of local animals. The center includes an on-site hospital and comfortable living quarters for volunteers. The enclosures, surrounded by nature, provide a habitat-like environment for the animals as they recover. As a volunteer, you'll work in a team to provide care for over 100 animals – including sloths, birds, and monkeys – in a sanctuary nestled in nature's lap. You'll take on a hands-on role that involves tasks like preparing food, feeding animals, maintaining clean enclosures, and assisting the on-site vet when possible. Want to know what it's like to work with animals every day? Thinking of being a veterinarian? Join us in a tropical paradise and get a hands-on introduction to veterinary medicine. The best way to learn about a future in veterinary medicine is to roll up your sleeves and jump right in! Working alongside professionals, you'll learn how to examine different types of animals, give injections, and perform necropsy and diagnostic tests. Attend lectures on anatomy, immunology, diagnostics, pathology, animal behavior, and other topics. Observe and assist local veterinarians in drawing blood, interpreting radiographs, and performing spay/neuter surgeries. This is a real-world experience with animals on actual working farms, in clinics, and even a wildlife rescue center. The excitement doesn't stop there, though. Raft the rapids of the Sarapiqui, zip-line through the jungle canopy, and experience Costa Rica's friendly culture in a way that few do. For summer 2026, we are offering four sessions (while spots are available): June 18 - July 9, 2026 June 25 - July 16, 2026 July 12 - August 2, 2026 July 19 - August 9, 2026 For more information on cost and availability, check our website.
