CIEE Semester Internships CIEE Semester Global Internships are 9 to 13-credit, 12-week programs that feature a full-time internship (approximately 30 hours weekly), a seminar, and an optional 3 to 4-credit academic course online. CIEE Semester Intern and Study Abroad Programs are 12 to 14-credit, 12-week programs that feature a part-time internship​ (approximately 20 hours weekly), a seminar, and two academic courses.

The Summer Internship Program through Expanish offers an incredible opportunity to gain international work experience, improve your Spanish, and enhance your skills in areas such as marketing or fashion—all while having an unforgettable summer. The program begins each June and lasts for two months. Expanish partners with a range of companies to offer internship placements in both Spanish and English, so knowledge of Spanish is not a requirement. Interns typically work 20 hours per week, and alongside the internship, participants attend evening Spanish language classes and an internship seminar. Interns can earn university credit through both the internship and the seminar. Throughout the program, you’ll also be connected with other students and interns through weekly cultural activities and classes. For accommodation, you can choose between a homestay, student residence, or shared apartment for the duration of your two-month internship experience.

IGS has placed students in some of the world’s most exciting museums. Our internship placements typically fall into two categories: working on the floor or conducting research and marketing behind the scenes. Floor work includes assisting the docent in the setup and interpretation of current exhibits and galleries. This may include constructing backdrops and computer modeling. Once the exhibit is in place, you are asked to learn the history of the showcased items and share your knowledge with the visiting public. Behind-the-scenes work may include conducting original research on life histories or local historical events. This may include online research and library visits. Likewise, you may be asked to conduct interviews in the community and record knowledge that is in danger of being lost forever. Students will enroll in coursework at Universidad de Belgrano, with a concentration on Spanish language and Latin American studies.
